Special Agent Kathy Hastings arrives in Crisfield to investigate her sister Kimberly’s disappearance. Estranged for years, Kathy is surprised to learn Kimberly, now a beautiful blonde, is engaged to Hank Williamson, son of wealthy State Senator Henry Williamson II, with a wedding planned for October—a detail Kimberly never shared during their brief phone calls. Kathy, private herself, understands her sister’s secrecy but finds it odd given the prominence of the Williamson family.
Meeting the Williamsons—charismatic Senator Henry, aloof matriarch Divine, and their son Hank—Kathy senses something unsettling despite their warm facade. She also encounters Ace Ryder, the enigmatic head of the Williamson family’s security. Though suspicious of his motives, believing he’s protecting the family’s secrets, Kathy is drawn to him, and they share a passionate moment, complicating her investigation.
The police chief links Kimberly’s disappearance to a serial case, but Kathy suspects the Williamsons are involved. Kathy knows she needs to find her sister before it's too late.
