Not long after that the roof started crumbling. I wonder if Krai is coming through the roof to get to her. And with Sire busting out from the inside that section of the building doesnt stand a chance.

This story's intro doesn't do it justice. There's intrigue, sas,... but also sheds light on societal issues. The writing pace is fast enough without losing descriptive value. The characters are well formed, grow/change (except for those whose character not growing is their issue). With many strong protagonists and antagonists. And a lead female that gets bolder over the book (strength of character isn't her issue). This isn't a typical romance book, some parts aren't just hard, they're also gruesome. But it's what makes me like it. There's something beautifully fragile to this story, a beautiful balance between danger and love, pain and kindness. As the end of the book draws closer all loose ends, arches,... find completion. It was a pleasure and an honour to read this book.
