It's Over
Sabrina's POV
“We were picked up but when we got in the car, a woman told us to shut up and behave or she would kill us.” Ethan rushed and explained, and he wasn't even scared or shocked. He just said it like it was a happy experience. My kids never failed to shock me every passing day.
I tried to calm down. No freaking out in front of the kids.
“Okay, so what did she do? Where did she take you?” I kept asking.
“A house. She didn't do anything to us, she just yelled at us a bit and locked us up in a room. Ellie cried like a baby but I was a big boy and suggested that she takes us out with her powers. When she stopped crying, she did it. It worked mommy! Are you proud of me?”
Oh my poor child. Ethan wasn't usually outspoken. He was definitely growing into such a strong lad already. It was typical of Ellie to be shaken and be a girl even though it often seems like she's the elder of the twins and she carries him along. I'm glad for once that she cried and let her brother handle things.
“For sure I'm proud of you, yes I am!” Then I embraced the both of them again and fought back tears.
“Do you recognize the house? Have you seen it before and do you know the way?”
“No, but it's of wooden build, like a camp house. Oh, like the type we went to shortly after your wedding with daddy!”
I thought long and hard. A place like that would be in the wild, surrounded by bushes, like in the forest! I'm guessing it's a tiny cabin, and places like that would be far from residential places like this area.
“Where is that place? Let me call daddy, give me a minute.”
I picked up my phone and put a call across to Kyle.
He didn't answer on the first or second rings, which was definitely unusual. Before we started having sex, I mean, acting like a true couple, it was understandable that he was an ass that picks my calls, always, but after I must've called him a million times.
Now, it has always been as if he'd been waiting for the call, so he always picked up immediately. I don't understand what's happening today, but I still called him again.
On the third ring, he responded, but he sounded exasperated.
“Sabrina, hey!” I heard him pant before he continued.
“I'm so sorry, I couldn't think for a second there. I think I might know where the kids are and where Laura is. We are on our way there, the woods-”
“The cabin in the woods-”
We both caught each other off and for a second there, there was weird, awkward silence, and definitely heavy breathing.
“Yes, we are headed there now. The kids must be so worried-”
“They are here.” I said carefully, knowing how stressed he was and not wanting him to panic or go out of character. I needed him to calm down so others wouldn't know, so Laura herself wouldn't know if she didn't already know.”
“What? Where?” He was really breathing hard but he was soft and understanding.
“In the house. Here, say hi to your dad!”
I handed the phone to the kids for a second.
“Daddy! Daddy, we're here!” They chirped happily into the phone. One day I'll sit them down and talk about how I'm the worst mom in the world for hiding them away from their dad and asking for their forgiveness. For now, we had a criminal to catch.
“Wow. How? What happened? Laura is there?”
“No, catch her, please. Ellie used her powers and brought them back. I'm sure Laura will suffer from shock and confusion and maybe panic, thinking she somehow lost the kids. I would like to see how that would pan out, so go get her, and I want to see everything via video call, so let her know I'm also there.”
“You're so bad, wife. When all of this is over, I promise you, you won't be able to get out of bed.” All Kyle ever did was seduce me. I just sit and wonder how I managed to resist him for so long before giving in.
He's like, so fucking hot, I couldn't get enough of my husband, seriously.
“Then better hurry and get here, then I'll let you handicap me and render me useless for a couple of days, husband.” I replied in a sneaky, soft but alluring voice.
So what if I was pregnant? I could still sleep with my husband. Infact, I was already anticipating it.
I didn't want the kids to hear, so I also walked away from them a bit. They settled in quite fine already, playing with each other like they didn't just undergo a traumatic expectation. They were stronger than me.
“This woman, you'll kill me.” He sighed dramatically before the call ended. I just crashed on the couch, feeling everything at once. All crazy and shocking, but sudden relief as well.
After a while, my husband called me on video call, so I dashed to the bedroom after Theresa went away with the kids.
The aim was to make her look crazy, looking for the kids that were already here. Our only hope was that she wasn't aware yet that they were gone. Shit was truly about to go down.
Right there, in the center of the woods and trees, was the little cabin. Orion was nowhere to be seen, but Laura, mighty Laura, came running out when she noticed the amount of cars and siren noises that stopped in front of her house, like an idiot.
Personally, I would run and not face the problem. She's such an amateur even though she's lost it.
She had this horrified look on her face. Kyle immediately approached her.
“What the hell do you want, Kyle? Why are you here?” She spat immediately, even though she could see me through his phone.
“You gathered all my council members and blackmailed them against me, so I would get impeached? All for what? To hurt your own sister?” Kyle spoke to her like he couldn't believe that she could actually do such a thing. To be fair, Laura looked like an angel but was worse than the devil.
“I did no such thing! Where is your proof? I will go live and fight for myself–”
She was raging immediately like she was crazy and she pulled out her phone. Kyle grabbed it from her and smashed it like it was nothing. Her mouth quivered in nothing but horror.
“Are you aware that you're wanted?” Kyle asked.
“For what? You just smashed my phone, you monster!” She looked like she was about to charge at him, but he warned her.
“If you move an inch from there, you will go straight to hell.”
“I hate you. I hate your wife. I hate this. Why attack an innocent member of the pack?”
“You're not from my pack! I know what you're doing here, and I'm barely just humoring you because it's fun and it's what my wife wants. There's no end of this that doesn't land you in prison, so you better cooperate.”
“You!” Her eyes almost popped out of their sockets in anger. Then Kyle pulled the most insane move.
He approached her and whispered in her ears in the most menacing but discreet manner.
“The most stupid thing you ever did was kidnap my kids, Laura. How else would we have found out your location?”
She swallowed, but she didn't deny it.
“And yet here you are, so confident, knowing fully well that I've got them. You poor thing, what are you going to do?”
“You're going to tell me where they are, Laura and right after that, I'm going to send you to jail.”
I felt so useless, but at least I was still a part of it. I realized what Kyle was doing so I stepped back and let him earn my body tonight. Oh how much I loved him like a highschool cheerleader.
“You will do no such thing, because yes, I kidnapped your kids, but I'll never release them! It's pushback for this bitch!” All I could see was crashing. Apparently she crashed Kyle's phone.
But there was something else she did. She confused to kidnapping, publicly, right where Kyle got her. He wanted to push her so much so she would think she had the upper hand and revealed the truth, but it was now leading to her doom, and I know I'm not the one she just referred to as a bitch, because I'm definitely not.
She was so blinded by rage, she couldn't stop talking. She began to push Kyle away, even though he initially warned her not to move. At this point his phone was still on the ground, but I felt and heard the scuffle.
“I still have your kids, So get lost! How dare you come here! And why are you so confident? I will never release them now!”
“I don't know, why am I so confident, Laura? I don't care, but I had better find my kids when I break down this building. If I don't find them, you're in big trouble as you've admitted yourself that you kidnapped them, and we already have proof of your previous crimes, so you are here by under arrest.”
He dropped the bombshell on her, then picked up his phone and boy, it was the hottest thing ever.
Laura was definitely processing everything before she suddenly dashed into the building in a flash. Kyle followed behind her, including the army he brought.
She arrived at a door with crazy chains and broke it down, and it was obvious that she had no keys to it, therefore she didn't care whatsoever for two little kids and how they were fending.
My chest constricted in horror, and Kyle, knowing I would behave like that, put the phone away, so I could only hear sounds for a while.
I couldn't see the look of horror on her face, but I knew it was satisfying.
“The kids were just here! How did they disappear?” She was crashing out badly.
Kyle definitely loved the next part. He was so done and had been done for so long but was only holding out for me. Now she had done the worst.
“Take her and lock her up. You'll provide my kids by the end of today or expect the worst from me. I'm nothing like my wife, I'm a bad man, and I will not show you mercy. Enough play time.”
The officers picked her up immediately as ordered. Laura was fearless and it was crazy. Where exactly was Orion anyway?
“You won't win! You won't win! You took your kids and you're blaming me? Tell me how you did it! I'm being framed!”
She kept screaming as they took her away. When Kyle put the screen back to his face, I couldn't help but tell him that I loved him like a hopeless romantic.
“I love you. Come home to me.” My eyes conveyed everything I felt, and it was beyond sex. It was scary, even for me.
“Finally, babe, it's all over.”
At least that's what we thought. It was only but the beginning, and it was already rough.
