On The Run

Sabrina's POV

Obviously Kyle raised his head up to see who entered his office without knocking, to see who was so audacious, but I felt him physically shake in his seat when he saw that it was me, because he knew what he had done.

His jaw dropped and it was great, I loved that, because what the hell was my mother doing here?

I couldn't believe what I was seeing with my eyes, but it was there, real. My mother.

I didn't even look at her when I addressed the situation.

“What is she doing here, Kyle? What is she doing here?” I didn't realize how hurt I felt until I spoke. My voice broke, majorly in disbelief. How dare he?

“Okay, calm down. Relax. We were going to come home and talk. I just didn't expect you to come here-” He had his hands in the air, trying to show me that everything was calm, but nothing was calm.

“Come home and talk? You mean in my matrimonial home, where I'm safe and happy with my kids? You'll bring her to it? Kyle?” The more words came out of his mouth, the more shocked I became. Why couldn't he understand me?

“Im sorry but just hear me out–”

I saw red.

I realized that I was about to start shedding tears, and there was no way it was happening in front of her, so I simply opted for careless, mad laughter. It had to be funny, not sad and shocking and hurtful.

So for a while, I kept laughing, shaking my head and forcing myself not to cry. She won't see another tear on my face because of her.

“Hear you out? For what? Kyle, I tried. I really tried to listen to you and reduce the hurt and anger, but she wasn't here then. Now she's right in front of me. Kyle, do you want me to kill myself so you can have her call you want? You want my mother now? Is that it?” I couldn't even believe what I was spewing but I knew I was beyond pissed.

“Sabrina, how could you say a thing like that! What's wrong with you?” Anger and hurt flashed through his eyes but then again, he had no right to be pissed. He had no right to bring my mother here!

My anger was fast rising, reaching boiling point.

“Whatever, I'm leaving. Since you're taking my mom home, I won't step foot into that mansion ever again so better start building a new one. Once I leave your office I'll pick up the kids from school and take them to a hotel with me. Goodbye, Kyle.”

I turned to leave but he stopped me.

“Sabrina!” Kyle breathed hard as he rose from his seat. He ran his hands through his hair in frustration.

“Don't you have faith in me? Don't you believe that everything I'm doing is for your own good? You really think I don't understand your feelings or I can't feel them? It's right here!” He hit his chest hard.

“I can feel it! You're in so much pain, it physically hurts me too, but for the greater good, you have to listen to me, please. Let go of the anger and hear me out.”

He was begging. It hurt me to see him begging. I immediately calmed down. Truly he must've had a good reason, and I should've paid attention first.

“Okay, fine. What is she doing here then? Give me a good reason.” I pursed my lips and waited for the explanation.

“Your sister is on the run.” I blinked. The step sister that stole my husband? Why was she on the run? I later decided that it was none of my business and I had no reason to care. I put on a brave face.

“So? Why should I care about her? I'm sure she's having fun wherever she is.”

Kyle sighed like he was exhausted.

“I'm sure you've noticed. Why do you think I've been so busy, caught up and drowned in work for the past couple of weeks. I didn't want to bother you, so I didn't tell you–”

“Tell me what?” What the hell was going on? Of course yes I noticed the distance.

It was beginning to get very uncomfortable. I even visited him in his office for the first time because of it.

“I'm in the process of getting impeached, and it's all because of your sister. She's here, and I found out she's been living with one of my special advisors, Orion. I have no idea what those two are plotting, but it's definitely not good since all the elders suddenly want you gone.”

I was taken aback. I put a hand to my chest and noticed my mother nodding her head via my peripheral vision in agreement.

“What? Me? What did I do?” My heart suddenly began to beat faster.

“That's why your mom is here, to call her to order.”

“Your sister has gone mental, Sabrina. I can't even control her anymore. She has grown.. ambitious.” My mom shook her head like she was really exhausted and tired, and hurt too. She looked resigned, like she wanted to make amends. But it could all be an act now that I'm happy with Kyle.

“So Laura has been here, trying to ruin my family?” I was beginning to make sense of things as it became clear. Laura is after me again, this time more violence and to ruin me. Why? What did I do to her? She made Marcus throw me out so what does she still want from me? It almost made me breakdown.

“Yes. So can you please calm down so we can figure out the best way to go about it? All the council members are mad at you, so I need to figure out what Laura did to them.”

I took deep breaths.

“She probably threatened or blackmailed them.” I said, knowing my sister is crazy.

“I agree with you. I think now it's getting serious, so I'll pay them all a visit and get the truth out of them.” Kyle looked really pissed, I began to fear for the members. They doubted me before but I still could believe that Laura threatened all of them, but with what?

Then something hit me.

“You said she's been living with your advisor. What happened to Marcus?”

I thought of the worst thing that could happen between them. No…

“She called me and told me he beat her up and dealt with her after he found out she wasn't carrying his child.” My mom butted in like she was allowed to but at this point, the matter was bigger than my anger.

“So they are divorced or what?”

I watched her eyes glisten when I replied to her, but I rolled my eyes.

“Not yet on paper but I guess it's in the talks, since she's busy sleeping with Orion.”

This was another shocking news. So this Orion is an enemy?

“Wow. I don't know what to say…” I just stared at the ground, thinking about my bad luck. I should never have come here, now Laura wants to take my husband down with me. I began to feel so bad because now my mom was also here and I couldn't tell what she was thinking. I began to freak out

“It's okay. Come sit down on my lap.”

I didn't need to be told twice when my husband offered, even though my mom was there. The plan was to make her very uncomfortable, just like she made me for years although in a different format.

I sat on my husband and rubbed myself all over him in front of her. It was subtle and lasted for only a few seconds but she still noticed and weak Kyle, he groaned frustratedly.

I loved the way her face scrunched up like she didn't approve, good.

To be fair the sex has been lesser. Maybe we'll have sex tonight.

“Relax and soon we'll go home. Please let your mom stay with us.” Kyle said, pretending like he wasn't affected but I could feel his cock get hard under me. I loved him so much. Still, I didn't want to agree, so I shook my head whilst glaring at her as she sat opposite us. I wasn't so angry anymore but I still hated her so much.

“I still don't trust her. Hotel?”

“Sure, Sabrina. I'll stay at a hotel. I understand.” She nodded in understanding but Kyle wasn't excited about it. Sometimes I wondered what happened to him. Right now I would want the Kyle that kidnapped me, not this soft, sweet son in law Kyle.

Maybe he was trying to give a good impression but she was the last person in the entire world that should care or that he would need her for anything

“Please, Sabrina. Please. No matter what, she's still your mom.” Asshole.

“She's not my mom. It's unfair you're trying to make me look like I'm the bad one but okay, she can stay. I'm not happy, but fine.”

“Thank you.” Then he leaned in and kissed me. I kissed him back. Hell I didn't mind going naked for sex with him, right in front of her, but I didn't do it. He wouldn't even agree with me anyway.

“Seems you too are in love. I'm happy for you.” I didn't believe her but for the first time ever, I smiled at her and she smiled back.

Laura was truly out to get me. A serious problem.
