Sleeping Around?

Sabrina's POV

It's been weeks and somehow along the line, I've forgotten to hate my husband as much as I was supposed to. I'm still disgusted by him, but at least now I could tolerate him.

I hated the fact that the kids loved him. It just made things worse because it would kill me if he ever discovers that he's the father.

The kids have gotten over always asking for their dad and since I'm obviously the worst mom ever, things are good now.

It was a Saturday so they were home, frustrating the shit out of me. It was supposed to be a quiet day but Theresa, who I claimed not to need, took the day off, and she was the only sort of friend I had.

Ellie and Ethan had plans to murder me. Kyle was out and told me he'll be back by evening, dealing with the affairs of the pack.

Somehow my life transformed under a couple of weeks, and I was beginning to get the hang of being a second wife. Things were great.

At least, that's what I thought. While I was looking through some designs for the wedding interior, a woman walked into the mansion, her heels clicking on the marble tiles like she owned the place.

She appeared in front of me and stared me down while I was sprawled, perfectly comfortable, looking homeless on the couch.

She looked put together, in complete contrast to me that had a sweatshirt and shorts on with no makeup.

It was the least of my worries. Just, who the hell is she and who gave her the right to walk in here? Only one person came to mind at that moment and suddenly, I felt a pang in my chest.

She was blonde, with cherry lips and she was indeed beautiful. My kids saw her and ran off to play, not shocked like they had seen her before. Have they truly and if so, where was I since I'm always at home?

A smile stretched her lips as she stared at me before saying hi.

“Oh, the wife. I didn't expect to meet you here. Finally we met.”

I don't know, but I wasn't excited about meeting her. I didn't want to meet her or know anything about her. It was just a natural instinct, and I wondered why.

“Do I know you? Is there someone you're looking for?” Of course I knew she was probably looking for Kyle and if the guards let her in, then there must be something going on.

“No, Kyle sent me to pick up something from his room. I'll get that and leave.”

His room?

“May I know who you are though? Kyle didn't tell me about it.” I didn't even know why I cared. Why did I want to know about their relationship?

She smiled, amused and her eyes glistened with something hostile. I was sure of it. She looked at me like I wasn't a threat, like I couldn't match up with her.

“Don't worry, I'm not a threat like you think. If you didn't know I was coming then I guess you guys are not as close as I think.”

I almost nodded, then I thought about what she said, the hidden meaning, then it sank in.

Just before I would confront her, she cut me short.

“Alright, happy chatting. If you would excuse me-”

“Wait, I wasn't done–” and then she was gone, perfectly walking straight for Kyle's room. Now I wondered what his room looked like and it finally hit me that I've never been there.

All of a sudden I was bothered that he let some woman in so casually? Was she some sort of secretary? She didn't look like one and it bothered me. Something wasn't right, especially with her scent. It wasn't really welcoming and my spirit couldn't agree with it.

I dropped the laptop and began to pace across the living room when I wasn't supposed to be bothered. I was the wife, preparing for a white wedding. Why the hell was I suddenly feeling so insecure, and for a man I didn't like one bit?

I took deep breaths, convinced myself that I didn't care and went back to work. She took an awful amount of time and I tried to mind my business, but it was getting really long. I was about to actually go and look for her when she walked in again.

She flashed me a smile I knew something was off with, then she left. I saw her holding some documents as she strutted out cheerfully, too cheerfully.

I waited and waited for my husband to get back. Finally, I heard his footsteps and rushed to the door just because I wanted to fight him and didn't care about him at all.

“You're back.” I said with lack of emotion, with folded hands and raised brows.

He chuckled nervously as he took me in.

“Missed me? That would be really nice.”

“Why would I miss you when I don't care about you? You made sure of that.”

“I see, then what are you doing here? You've literally stayed up to wait for me.”

“I didn't wait for you. I waited for my response to my question. So, you're bringing women into our home now. You didn't tell me about the woman that came here today. Who is she?” Now that I've let the question out, I immediately felt so stupid. I swore I wouldn't ask him earlier so how did we get here?

Kyle's face scrunched up in temporal confusion for a second before he got the message and grinned.

“Oh, my ex-girlfriend, Carol? She doesn't even like me. You're overreacting, I just sent her to get me a document, that's all.”

Somehow I didn't feel entirely convinced.

“Will she keep coming then?” The more I tried to fight asking silly questions, the more I couldn't control myself.

“Why? Are you jealous?” Now he was clearly laughing at me, so I had to do what I had to do. I needed to shed off this jealousy building up inside of me for no just cause. Because I refused to let him have sex with me? Is that why he was doing this? Then he brought her here to show me he had better game? I know I'm just assuming but men like Kyle can get any woman they want. It was really driving me crazy.

“No. It's a fake marriage. Screw whoever you want and do whatever you want. I don't care. I'm going to the dress shop with Ellie and Ethan in the morning so don't look for me.”

Yes, he had finally let me leave the mansion whenever I wanted.

I turned around and walked away, straight to bed.
