Chapter 3 Voyeur
Sophia's Perspective
I can be one hundred percent certain that Theo is a despicable werewolf. Even if his father is an upright alpha, whenever I think of his contemptuous expression in that office and those humiliating words he said to me, my heart aches like being pricked by needles.
I really wanted to tell my father that the Ellis brothers couldn't help him at all, especially Theo Ellis—that bastard who was fooling around with his secretary in my father's boss's office.
But my father's haggard appearance deeply pierced my heart, yet his eyes still sparkled with trust and hope in me.
Looking at those tired but still gentle eyes of my father, I forced out a smile and tried to make my voice sound firm: "Don't worry, I will do my best to get you out of here."
This sentence nearly exhausted all my strength. I knew this was an almost impossible task, but I didn't want to disappoint my father, and I couldn't let him know that I had completely messed everything up.
After leaving the prison, I returned to the apartment in a daze. This was the small apartment my father and I rented, located in the civilian area of the Silver Moon Pack. Although simple, it was filled with warm memories of us father and daughter.
Now, it seemed so empty and cold.
The next morning, I dragged my exhausted body to school. Just as I reached the school gate, I was blocked by Amy and her gang.
"My God, you're so shameless!" Amy's voice was filled with malicious pleasure. "The traitor's daughter still dares to come to school?"
Lianna and several other girls beside her immediately surrounded me, encircling me completely.
This scene reminded me of the nightmare from my middle school days, but the current situation was even worse because I carried the terrible label of "traitor's daughter."
"Sophia, do you know? After you left yesterday, the whole school was talking about your father's situation." Amy's face showed fake sympathy. "A gamma who betrayed the pack—his daughter certainly wouldn't be anything good either."
"My father was wrongly accused." I stared at her coldly, as if I wanted to bore a hole through her face.
"Wrongly accused?" Lianna sneered. "If he was really wrongly accused, why doesn't the Alpha defend him? Why is the whole pack saying he's a traitor?"
Her voice was too shrill, attracting quite a few onlookers. I suddenly realized this was her scheme—I couldn't continue to engage with her and fall into her trap.
"Amy, let me go to class." I tried to control my emotions. "I have the right to education."
Amy scoffed: "What rights does a traitor's daughter have? Your presence here is a disgrace to Moonlight College!"
Clearly, they weren't planning to let me off easily.
Just as the conflict was about to escalate, a lazy voice filled with impatience came from behind the crowd.
"So noisy! This is a school, not a marketplace!"
This voice carried obvious disgust and impatience, as if our argument had dirtied his ears.
I saw Amy's expression change dramatically in an instant.
Her originally fierce and menacing face suddenly transformed into a fawning smile, her eyes sparkling with excitement.
I looked toward the voice in shock and was startled to see a familiar handsome face.
It was a face identical to Theo's, but with a completely different temperament. This man wore a pair of exquisite rimless glasses, his expression cold and distant, lacking the roguish and mocking aura that Theo possessed.
Theo Ellis?!
My heart was pounding, but I quickly realized I was wrong.
Because another man walked out from behind him—two people with identical faces.
Theo saw me and slightly narrowed his eyes, his gaze playful, the corner of his mouth curling into a mocking smile: "So it's the peeping tom, making this beautiful campus smoky and chaotic."
His gaze lingered on me, and confusion appeared on his face: "How do I remember that Moonlight College doesn't allow omegas to enroll? Tell me, thief, how did you get in? Hmm? The same methods you used to enter the Ellis building yesterday?"
Theo's words made me so angry that my heart pounded and my eardrums nearly burst.
He actually implied in front of so many people that I used improper means to enter the school, just like implying I used my body to exchange for admission!
I knew he was mocking me because I had stumbled upon his secret yesterday—witnessing his lewd scene with the Alpha's secretary.
But I never expected him to be so shameless, so viciously retaliating against me.
Just then, Amy enthusiastically approached Theo, her eyes sparkling with greedy desire.
"Hello, Theo, I'm Amy." Her voice became sweetly alluring. "You're absolutely right—she's just a thief, as despicable as her father."
Theo's gaze then fell on Amy, looking her up and down.
Amy was trembling with excitement all over, puffing out her chest, trying hard to show off her figure.
"I know your rules," Amy's voice was full of anticipation, "but I don't mind. Theo, you can contact me anytime."
Watching this scene, a complex emotion surged in my heart.
Amy was showing interest in Theo right in front of me, and Theo seemed quite pleased with her initiative.
This reminded me of what I saw in the office yesterday—the scene of Theo and that blonde secretary passionately entwined.
Throughout this farce, the man with glasses remained a cold observer.
He didn't participate in Theo's humiliation of me, nor did he stop Amy's flattery. He just stood there quietly, as if none of this concerned him.
Theo started flirting with Amy right in front of me.
"You're very interesting," Theo said to Amy. "Maybe we can find time to chat privately."
Amy, encouraged by him, immediately began posing coquettishly. She looked at me triumphantly, as if showing off her victory.
They flirted shamelessly, while I became a tool and backdrop for their flirtation.
Watching their retreating figures, I suddenly remembered my father's words and that man who looked exactly like Theo.
If I remembered correctly, it was he who had spoken up to rebuke Amy and her gang, indirectly rescuing me, although his purpose might have been simply finding us too noisy.
But this was enough. In this environment full of malice, any bit of kindness was worth grasping.
He was one of the Ellis brothers. Perhaps he wouldn't be as despicable and promiscuous as Theo. Perhaps he could show mercy, listen to my explanation of my father's injustice, and help me save my father.
This was my only hope.
I took a deep breath, mustered my courage, and stepped forward to catch up with them.
