Chapter 7 Suspected

Mabel's hand froze slightly as she put away the needles.

Jayden's words meant that he was suspicious of Mabel's intentions.

Mabel thought it was not Jayden's fault that he was suspicious.

After all, she was here to take Camila's place, but she had medical skills and could deal with the wolf. It was normal for Jayden to be suspicious of her.

Mabel lowered her eyes and stuck the bag of needles in the hidden pocket at the back of her waist.

"Mr. Griffiths, you think too much. As a medical practitioner, I would never use my needles to hurt people."

Jayden narrowed his eyes and looked at Mabel's slender hands.

Mabel's hands were very beautiful. They looked soft and tender without any flaws. Under the sun, they appeared seductive.

The joints on her hands were covered with a layer of sickly pink due to Jayden's forceful pinch earlier, which was inexplicably attractive.

Jayden narrowed his eyes slightly, and a glimmer of light flashed through them.

When Melanie saw that Jayden was okay, she breathed a sigh of relief but then looked at Mabel with a frown.

Melanie began wondering about Mabel's background.

Every time Jayden had an attack, he would be in pain for a few hours. He had to take painkillers for the pain, but Mabel had cured him with only a few needles.

Hence, Melanie wanted to know who Mabel truly was.

Mr. Fletcher looked at Mabel excitedly. "Miss Baldwin, can you really cure him?"

When Mabel was about to answer, Jayden shouted coldly, "Mr. Fletcher! You talk too much."

Mr. Fletcher had no choice but to hold back his excitement and stop talking.

Jayden glanced at Mabel, and his tone was no longer as cold as before. "Escort Miss Baldwin to rest."

"Yes." Mr. Fletcher looked at Mabel respectfully. "Miss Baldwin, please follow me."

Mabel glanced at Jayden, picked up his things, followed Mr. Fletcher, and left the room.

Mabel thought she should take things as they were.

No matter what Jayden was going to do, at least she had stayed.

After Mabel left, Jayden frowned and looked at Melanie with some impatience in his eyes. "Why aren't you leaving yet?"

Melanie pursed her lips and said, "Jayden, I'm here to tell you that Grandma suddenly fainted from an episode when she was outside and has been sent to the hospital."

Jayden's expression changed. "Go to the hospital first. I'll be there right away."

Melanie nodded and left in a hurry.

Jayden got out of bed and made a phone call while putting on his clothes.

"Mr Griffiths," The man's respectful voice came from the phone.

"Have you found out anything about that woman?"

Steven said with embarrassment, "Not yet. After that night five years ago, there was no more news about her. The thumb ring you gave her did not go through the black market either. It's hard to find any clues."

Jayden's expression darkened. A fiery rage flashed across his clear and cold eyes.

His voice was low and cold as he spoke. "Continue the investigation!"

"Yes!"

"Also, get the car ready. I'm going to the hospital."

"Yes!"

In the hospital.

In the VIP ward.

Madam Griffiths lay on the bed and told Melanie in high spirits how she had been rescued.

"That girl was really beautiful and kind! At that time, everyone was persuading her to leave me alone, but she still came to help me without hesitation and saved my life!"

As she spoke, she sighed emotionally. "This is fate!"

After that, she looked at Melanie and said, "Melanie, find me that girl. I wish to thank her in person!"

Melanie held her hand and said softly, "Grandma, don't get agitated. I'll definitely find her for you."

As soon as Melanie finished speaking, Jayden walked in quickly, followed by Steven Thomas.

When Madam Griffiths saw Jayden, she immediately gestured for him to come over. "Jayden, come over quickly. I have something to tell you."

Jayden stepped forward and sat down beside the bed. Looking at Madam Griffiths' pale face, he frowned slightly, and his tone was full of concern.

"Grandma, it's such a hot day. Why did you go out alone?"

"I did it all for your wedding!"

Madam Griffiths looked at Jayden with blame. "I heard that you're going to marry the second daughter of the Baldwin family. As your grandma, of course, I have to find someone to check your compatibility."

Jayden frowned slightly and glanced at Melanie coldly. The coldness in his eyes was bone-chilling.

Melanie's body stiffened, and she felt a chill slowly rising from her back.

She lowered her head and looked aggrieved. "Jayden, I'm sorry. I told her too much."

Madam Griffiths frowned. "Why are you blaming Melanie? Do you really think that you can hide this from me? The Baldwin family had substituted their bride with another. It's obvious that they don't respect our family! I won't agree to this marriage. Jayden, go to the Baldwin family immediately and call off the marriage!"
