Chapter 13 How Badly Do You Want to Die
"Well, what do we have here." Jayden's voice suddenly echoed in the air above the living room.
"It makes me wonder what could've happened in the past to make you so cruel to your own daughter."
The three people in the living room were shocked to see the handsome man with a cold face at the door.
Word has it Jayden Griffiths had been weak since young and had never shown his face in public. Therefore, none of them had ever seen him.
At this moment, when the three of them saw him and Mabel standing together, they thought that she had hooked up with a random man from some random place. Their anger was instantly ignited.
Victoria pointed at Mabel's nose and cursed, "Oh Lord, look at this shameless b*tch! Why aren't you playing the good wife in the Griffiths family instead? How dare you bring another man home! How badly do you want to die? Die alone and don't get us into trouble, will you?!"
Mabel raised her eyebrows and looked at her with a faint smile.
It was one thing to swear at her, but it was another to curse at Jayden.
She was in for a good show.
Camila stood at the back and looked at Jayden in a daze, a trace of jealousy in her eyes.
The man in front of her had a face that was universally attractive, and his height imbued him with a halo effect.
He had a strong build, a perfect inverted figure, a broad shoulder and a narrow butt, and long and strong legs. It was obvious that he was in good health!
How did Mabel know such a handsome man?
She didn't deserve him, Camila thought.
She suppressed the jealousy in her heart and said softly, "Mabel, you are married. You can't go back to your old ways. If Jayden knows about this, he is going to be so mad."
Camila was a typical white lily. Her heart was as venomous as snakes and scorpions, but she spewed chicken soup for the soul.
In her words, Mabel was charged with the crime of a "loose woman".
Mabel's lips curled into a cold smile. She glanced at her meaningfully before turning to look at Jayden.
His thin lips were tightly pressed together, and his brows were tightly knitted. It seemed that there was a layer of bottomless anger, which made people shudder.
She curled her lips and said in a light tone, "I'm sorry you have to say this, Mr. Jayden. My family is, for lack of a better word, poorly educated. They were born without zips on their mouths and have zero savoir-faire."
As soon as she finished speaking, the three people on the opposite side were stunned at the same time.
They widened their eyes in shock, as if someone had battered their eyeballs out of their sockets.
What was going on?
Why did Mabel call this man Mr. Jayden?!
Could he be the legendary Jayden Griffiths?
Impossible!
Wasn't he ugly and disabled? Wasn't he supposed to be on his deathbed?!
Jayden's cold and ruthless gaze swept across the faces of the stunned trio.
The way he looked down on them, as if he were looking at ants, made the three Baldwin tremble uncontrollably.
They dared to disrespect him.
Camila recovered from her initial shock, leaving only annoyance and regret.
Damn it!
She should have been Jayden's wife! She should have been his wife!
But now, he had been snatched away by Mabel!
"B*tch!" she cursed in her mind.
Sam was the first to come to his senses. He frowned and looked at Mabel. "How can you talk like that, kid? What do you mean by poorly educated? We are your family!"
After that, his face changed instantly. He nodded and bowed to look at Jayden. "Son, why didn't you tell us ahead of time that you were coming? We were not prepared. I'm sorry."
Victoria also came to her senses and immediately said with a smile, "It's all a misunderstanding! Don't mind us, Jayden. I was just playing with Mabel. Come on, sit down. Butler, go make some tea!"
"Don't bother." Jayden's expression was cold and his tone was gloomy. "I'm just some random man from who-knows-where. I don't deserve your tea, do I?"
Victoria's face instantly turned pale. "I-I didn't mean that. You've misunderstood me."
Camila tidied her hair and looked at him timidly. "Mr. Jayden, you're mistaken. That's not what Mom meant. It's all because Mabel—"
"Geez, I can't hear myself think." Jayden's voice was cold and deep. He slid a glance at Steven.
Steven nodded, stepped forward, and gave Camila a hard slap on her face.
This slap shocked everyone in the room.
Camila looked at Steven in a daze as if she had been beaten silly. Her face soon became red and swollen.
She felt wronged and angry. She blamed everything on Mabel.
But on the surface, she pretended to be hurt and wronged, covering her face and shedding tears.
Mabel was also surprised. She did not expect that he would have dispensed with all the social etiquette. However, it was just what she wanted!
He turned around and sat down on the sofa. With his long legs crossed, he looked languorous and noble.
"You people disrespected my wife like I didn't exist."
His low, cold, and magnetic "wife" was inexplicably sexy.
Mabel was stunned for a moment, as if she had been shocked by an electric current.
The numbing sensation hit the crown of her head and her body went limp.
It was so strange.
But Mabel soon calmed down.
Why was she so sensitive to the word "wife"?
Sam and Victoria looked at Camila with distress. While they were angry, they couldn't say anything.
At this time, Jayden said in a cold voice, "Your daughter had her marriage yesterday, but this place is as desolate as a funeral parlor. It appears to me that you have gripes about her marriage."
