Chapter 6 The Wedding Was Canceled
Liliana raised her eyebrows and looked at me. She tapped her fingers and I naturally understood what she meant.
"You got it right, I had sex with a man, but that man was not Perry."
The mere mention of Perry's name made me sick.
I must be blind to love such a disgusting man.
"What? You had sex with another man last night... What the hell was going on?"
Liliana widened her eyes, obviously shocked by what I have just said.
Looking at her shocked face, I recalled the night I saw Perry and Courtney together on the bed and told Liliana the whole story.
"What? He actually did that? He's really a sc*mbag!"
After listening to my story, Liliana scolded Perry angrily.
"By the way, what about today's wedding? It's your wedding day today."
Liliana asked me anxiously as though she recalled something.
"The wedding was canceled."
I spoke coldly. I clearly felt pain in my heart when I muttered those words.
I have been looking forward to this wedding for so many years. I even arranged every detail personally. I put all my thoughts on the wedding, but now it was all in vain.
"Liliana, I'm tired, I want to rest."
Even though I felt sick when I thought of Perry, he was the man I loved for seven years after all. It would be a lie if I said I wasn't hurt.
I just wanted a good sleep so I could totally forget about him. I would be refreshed once I woke up from my sleep, as though he had never appeared in my life.
Liliana knew that I was sad, so she left me alone quietly.
It seemed that I slept for quite a long time. I heard noises in the living room when I woke up. It sounded like Perry's voice.
I heard Liliana, she seemed to be arguing with Perry.
When I opened the bedroom door, I saw Perry sitting on the sofa in the living room and Liliana was fuming beside him.
"Irene."
Perry called me once he saw me.
"Mr. Bart, what are you doing here? You are not welcome here!"
I resisted the urge to ask him why he betrayed me and deliberately pretended to be cold.
"Irene, what happened last night was..."
Perry stood up and walked towards me with guilt.
"Why? Do you want to describe to my friend what you and Courtney did on the bed yesterday night?"
There was sarcasm in my tone, and I felt anger surged inside me.
After all, he was someone who I loved deeply. Every time I recall that he cheated and lied to me, I couldn't help but felt deeply hurt.
"Irene, I know what happened last night was my fault, but Courtney and I love each other, I..."
Perry's mouth was wide open as if he wanted to continue, but I interrupted him. "Enough! We are over, Perry. You don’t need to explain anything to me. Didn’t you say that you were forced to marry me? Then let me tell you now, you don't have to marry me anymore!"
He was the one who cheated and slept with my best friend. They even had a child and he had the guts to tell me that both of them loved each other sincerely? He must be joking.
If they truly loved each other, what about me for the past seven years?
