Chapter 19 Merely Satisfying Our Sexual Needs
"Well, Alana is such a beauty. Are you really going to dump her? In my opinion, if you still miss her, you can consider forgiving her."
Well, even though I would never accept a partner who betrayed me, it was better not to encourage them to separate. Because if I agreed with Nathan's actions, he might have thought that I had ulterior motives.
To be on the safe side, I persuaded him to make peace with Alana.
"Do you think that I would forgive a woman who cheated on me?" He said. My words probably triggered him. His face darkened and he stare at me angrily.
I smiled guiltily and didn't quite know how to continue the conversation. I couldn't help but to scold him in my mind. It's your business that you broke up with your girlfriend. Do you really need bash me? It was a coincidence that I heard your conversation with her.
"Also, Alana and I were not together. We're only using each other. She wanted fame and money while all I wanted was to fulfil my sexual needs."
I couldn't hear any emotions in his deep voice as he glanced at me.
All he wanted was sex...
He was really straightforward.
"Um..., whether you're with Alana or not? You don't need to explain to me. I won't spill your secret. I'll keep my mouth shut."
I didn't know why Nathan explained his relationship to me. This was only our third conversation. In the end, we were mere strangers who had a one-night stand.
Nathan frowned after he heard what I had just said, as if he was angry. I didn't know if I had said anything wrongly, but I kept quiet because my guts told me that he was a dangerous man.
The atmosphere was awkwardly silent. I felt uncomfortable with Nathan's presence.
"What are you doing here alone at night?"
Nathan spoke again after a long silence.
"Nothing, I was feeling blue so I'm out to drink and relax as well as to enjoy the fresh air."
My good mood turned sour once I recalled my conversation with Perry in the noon.
"Let's go, I'll send you home."
He glanced at me indifferently and reached out his hand towards me.
His fingers were long and slender, well-defined and beautiful. I stretched out my hand to him. With such close contact, my heart thumped since I was sober.
"I'll just go home myself. It's very convenient to get a taxi here."
My heart pounded without warning every single time I saw him. Luckily I was still young, if not, I would have wondered if I had a heart attack.
I instinctively wanted to keep a distance from him. I wanted to leave quickly after I spoke.
But I fell into his arms as he pulled my hands forcefully. I was pressed against his chest. I could hear his heartbeat and his faint perfume wafted into my nose. My heart thumped wildly again and I froze, completely forgot to break free from his embrace.
"You wanted to avoid me so badly? Irene Fletcher, you can't leave now!"
He hugged me in his arms and pressed his lips against my ears with a magnetic voice.
Suddenly, I came back to my senses and found that he was embracing me. I tried to break free from his embrace but he was surprisingly strong and I remained trapped.
"Nathan! What are you doing? Let me go!"
