Chapter 18 He Found Me

Nathan was determined to dump Alana. Of course, a man as rich and powerful as him wouldn't tolerate women cheating on him.

Now I could understand why he was so heartless to Alana. Just like me, he couldn't tolerate any form of cheating. I dumped Perry because he cheated on me, even though I was heartbroken. Let alone a man like Nathan.

"Nathan, won't you forgive me?"

Alana cried non-stop, gaining sympathy with her pitiful look. But I knew that Alana had betrayed Nathan after hearing their conversation. Now I didn't sympathize her because it was all her own fault.

"Leave! Before I change my mind, b*tch!"

Nathan was outraged and even spoke with foul language. He bellowed and I could clearly see Alana's trembling body.

Fluster written all over her face, she wanted to explain herself yet she was afraid.

After a moment of silence, Alana turned and left sobbing.

Their conversation ended when Alana left. I turned around and continued drinking, as if I had never seen anything just now.

I thought Nathan would leave soon too. But I seemed to have overestimated my ability to hide.

"You've just watched us for so long. Now that it ended, don't you have anything to say?"

I heard Nathan's deep and alluring voice and I shuddered. I quickly glance around. I only confirmed that he directed his words to me after seeing that I was alone with him.

I thought I was good at camouflaging myself. I didn't expect him to recognize me much earlier, it seemed like I had underestimated him.

He stared at me deeply when I looked at him, with complex emotions that I couldn't see clearly.

"Are you talking to me?"

I smiled awkwardly and looked at him guiltily. After all, I shouldn't be proud of eavesdropping at him.

"Is there any other living creature? Or ghost?"

Nathan frowned and strode towards me.

My heart thumped wildly without a reason every single time he took a step closer to me.

Also, could he not mention about ghost? I loved ghost stories and was good at fantasizing about those scary scenes.

I felt a chill behind my neck as I thought of ghost stories. If it weren't for Nathan, I would have gotten up and ran away.

"What are you doing here all by yourself? You even drank?"

Nathan was getting closer and closer to me. He glanced at the beer bottle beside me and frown. He probably didn't like women who drinks.

"Well, I...I just happened to be here, I really didn't mean to eavesdrop on your conversation with Alana."

I thought Nathan was going to question me whether I had heard about his conversation with Alana. Since I was the one who eavesdropped, before he could say anything, I quickly confessed guiltily.

"Since you saw it. Don't you have anything to say?"

Nathan has walked towards me. I could only look up to his tall figure since I was sitting on the ground and he was standing.
