Chapter 18 He Was Purposely Making Things Difficult

No wonder he looked so familiar. It turned out that he was the man she bumped into the other day.

D*mn it. He was such a good-looking man. How could she not remember a handsome man like him? She was getting forgetful now!

"Thank god you recognized me. Last time, you broke my brooch, and I still haven't got my compensation."

Smirking, Frederick said.

For some reason, he couldn't help but become happy seeing her. At the same time, he somehow had intimate feelings toward her and had the urge to get close to her.

It was as if she had a fatal attraction to him.

That was strange.

"Oh, right. Well, I forgot since you didn't call me, and I have a poor memory too. How much was the brooch? I'll compensate you."

Hurriedly, Alice replied, her tone softened.

It was because Frederick's aura was so strong that she couldn't withstand it.

"Compensate?" Frederick snorted as if he had heard a joke, "How are you going to compensate me?"

Taking another step closer to Alice, Frederick smelled her natural scent. At once, fragments of vague memories crossed his mind.

However, it lasted only for a second and disappeared.

"Sir, I know that your brooch is from Fran Valentine, and its market price is a thousand dollars. I know it still has a high collection value even though it's a less valuable one among Fran's designs. And so, I am willing to pay you the original price since I broke it."

When Frederick was in a daze, Alice took the opportunity and pushed him away and explained, her face flushed.

She was an extremely shy person. At this moment, her face was covered by her hair so no one could see it. However, Alice's voice was slightly trembling.

Seeing her face that was as red as a ripe apple, Frederick smiled faintly and uttered, "Go on."

"What?"

Alice asked in confusion.

"The origin of the brooch."

With that, she did not understand why Frederick suddenly refused her compensation and began to wonder about the origin of the brooch instead. After pausing for a while, Alice continued, "Fran was originally a pilot but lost both his legs in an accident, so he can no longer continue to be a pilot. Despite that, he had never given up on his dream. He added various elements about flying to his design. Your brooch is the first brooch he designed when he first stepped into the fashion industry. Although its design is quite immature, it's filled with his purest dream, and it is also Fran's favorite design."

When Frederick listened to her explaining, his eyes lit up. He didn't expect that she would know the origin of his brooch so clearly. Having to see it only once the other day, Alice managed to find out its origin and even its designer's inspiration. That was rare.

"Since this brooch has such a great meaning, and you also said that it was used for collection purposes, I think it's not a good idea to compensate me with money. How about you compensate me with the exact same thing? It's not a difficult request, right?"

As Frederick said slowly, his eyes flashed.

Upon hearing his request, Alice frowned and met his gaze, frustrated.

He must be doing this on purpose!
