Dorm - 2
Lio's POV
Zoha was standing there with two other omegas beside him. Both of them looked pretty average, but Zoha… why him? Out of nowhere, he turned out to be my roommate. Of all people, it had to be him. I didn’t even want to see his face, and now I’d have to live with him.
“Zoha, what are you doing here?”
He smirked at my words. Don’t tell me… was this his plan all along? Did he scheme just to end up as my roommate because he couldn’t stand to see me at peace?
“Brother Lio, aren’t you happy to see me here? I was so excited that we’d be roommates, but why does your face look like that?”
I knew his game. Zoha always pretended to be the good brother in front of everyone because he knew it irritated me. And, as always, I’d lose my temper—making people believe I didn’t care about his feelings. But like hell I’d ever care about his feelings.
Not this time. I’d give him a taste of his own medicine.
“Zoha, I’m so happy to see you that I froze and didn’t know how to react,” I said sweetly.
Then I stepped forward and pulled him into a hug, squeezing him tightly—like I wanted to crush him in my arms. He struggled to push me away, but he failed.
When I finally let go, a smile curled on my lips while sweat trickled down his face. He must have felt that pain.
“What’s wrong, Zoha? Why is your face getting pale?” I asked in the sweetest tone I could muster.
He didn’t reply—just went and sat down on the bed.
My gaze shifted to the two omegas still standing there. One had brown hair, the other black.
“Hello, I’m Lio,” I introduced myself.
They exchanged glances, smiled awkwardly, and said nothing.
Fine. If they didn’t want to talk, I wouldn’t bother. My attention went to the beds—four of them in total, arranged in pairs with one below and one above, connected by little stairs. One pair bed already had things placed on them. Only one bottom bunk was empty. I set my luggage beside it and began unpacking.
After I finished, I lay down on my bed. The two new roommates still didn’t speak to me, but they seemed perfectly comfortable chatting with Zoha. Figures. The brown-haired omega ended up on the bunk above mine.
Whatever. I didn’t care if they ignored me. It wasn’t like I was going to die without their conversation.
But then I caught a whiff of myself. Sweat.
I grabbed a change of clothes and headed into the bathroom. To my surprise, it was impressive—spacious, with a shower and a bathtub large enough for me to stretch out.
First, I turned on the shower, letting the water soak through my hair and clothes until my skin felt cool. Meanwhile, I filled the bathtub. When it was ready, I slipped inside.
The moment the cold water surrounded me, it felt like heaven. My body relaxed instantly, as if all the weight pressing on me had disappeared. For a while, I didn’t have to worry about anything. Closing my eyes, I let myself sink into the relief of the bath.
After a while, I finally stepped out of the bathtub and slipped into a bathrobe. Once dressed in it, I applied moisturizer to my face, neck, and hands. When my body was dry enough, I changed into fresh clothes and stepped out of the bathroom.
To my surprise, the room was empty. It seemed the three of them had left. Fine by me—I wasn’t going to waste my thoughts on them.
I’d heard that in Moon’s Mate university, no uniforms were required. The university allowed students to wear whatever they wanted. Anything was permitted here.
I sat down on my bed, but just then a sudden ringtone pierced the silence. The sound made me flinch—after all, I was alone in the room, and the ringing echoed strangely in my ears.
My eyes darted around until they landed on a mobile phone resting on the table.
Why hadn’t my roommates taken their phone with them? Did they forget it?
Or… was it something else?
I stood up and slowly approached the table. The call was coming from someone saved as Honey.
I knew I should ignore it, but the phone kept ringing again and again. With my roommates nowhere in sight, I finally gave in and answered.
(Lio) “Hello?”
(Unknown) “Wassup, my darling! … Wait. That’s not my darling’s voice. Who are you?”
(Lio) “Uh, actually, he’s not here. His phone was on the table and kept ringing, so I just answered. I’m his roommate.”
I had no idea which one of them this caller was talking about. The two omegas hadn’t even bothered to tell me their names, so how was I supposed to know whose boyfriend this was?
(Unknown) “So, you’re his roommate? What’s your name? You sound beautiful just from your voice…”
The moment I heard that, I instantly realized he was trying to hit on me. Without a second thought, I hung up.
I placed the phone back on the table and turned around—only to freeze.
The brown-haired omega, one of my roommates, was standing in the doorway, watching me.
