Dorm - 1
Lio's POV
"Sir, if you don’t mind, may I ask… do you know me?" I asked. Of course, I had to.
Even if he was the principal, I knew it was impossible for him to remember every student’s name just by their face. And since I had only arrived today, there was no way.
He grinned at my question, then picked up the glasses resting on his table and put them on before looking at me.
“Lio, your mom and I know each other. She was my friend, and she asked me to invite you to my university once you graduated from high school.”
I listened to him, my mind spinning. Everything he said was so shocking that I could only sit there, stunned.
So he was my mom’s friend. It was her wish, and he had fulfilled his promise by sending me that invitation letter.
No wonder no one believed me earlier at the entrance. The invitation was so rare that even the man checking the students’ letters had torn mine apart, thinking it was fake—when it wasn’t.
“Sir, you should’ve told the others about this. They didn’t believe me at the entrance,” I said.
“Haha.” He laughed when he heard me.
I frowned. What was there to laugh about now?
“I didn’t tell anyone, but I didn’t know it would cause trouble for you. Sorry about that,” he said.
“It’s okay,” I replied. After all, he was the principal—the one who invited me here—so of course I needed to accept his apology quickly.
After talking with him, I bowed politely and left. Before I did, he warned me about a few things.
There were some matters happening in the university that even he couldn’t control, so I would have to stay out of trouble. And, as he made very clear, there were also certain people I should never offend. Specifically, the twin alpha brothers.
I nodded and excused myself. If I stayed any longer, I knew he would continue lecturing me non-stop, and I honestly didn’t want that.
But just as I stepped out of the principal’s office, I suddenly bumped into someone.
“Ugh, can’t you see?” I hissed, rubbing my forehead. It wasn’t bleeding, but the impact had left my whole head throbbing. Whoever I hit had a chest as hard as stone.
When I looked up, I froze. It was the same man I had seen earlier—still in his sharp suit, looking as intimidating as before.
“What are you doing here?” he asked, as if I were trespassing.
“The principal called me. Why are you asking?” I shot back.
He only made a disgusted face, ignored me, pushed the door open, and strode inside the office.
I exhaled sharply and walked away.
When I left the university and headed to the dorm building, I realized they had already assigned me a room. But my luggage… it was in another room.
In his room. The alpha who had helped me get inside earlier.
I really didn’t want to see his face again, but it wasn’t like I had a choice.
I stood in front of the alpha’s door, hesitating. The way he had touched me before made me uncomfortable, and the thought of facing him again unsettled me.
But I couldn’t just stand there forever. Taking a deep breath, I pushed the door open.
Inside, I froze.
That alpha—Zale, he was doing push-ups. He wasn’t wearing a shirt, only pants. His body glistened with sweat, muscles rippling with every movement. His chest, arms, and shoulders looked so strong… almost too strong.
I swallowed hard, my throat suddenly dry as I caught myself staring.
As I watched him, he suddenly stopped his push-ups and stood up. Grabbing the towel from the bed, he wiped his neck and face.
While wiping, his eyes turned to me.
“Ohh, kitty, you’re finally here! Did you enjoy your time while I wasn’t with you?” he asked.
His gaze swept over me from head to toe, but instead of meeting it, my eyes wandered around the room. That’s when I finally noticed my luggage placed near the wardrobe.
Seeing that, I walked toward the wardrobe, deliberately ignoring Zale. As I reached for my luggage, a sudden force pulled me back, and my back bumped hard against his chest.
“Where are you planning to go, kitty?”
“Excuse me, my name is Lio, not kitty. Please call me by my name. Wherever I go is entirely up to me, and I’d appreciate it if you kept some distance.”
With that, I jabbed my elbow into his stomach and slipped away, glaring at him sharply.
“Wow, you really are wild. But kitty, do you honestly think you can get away from me just by moving to another room?”
Is he out of his mind? I’m only going to the room that was actually assigned to me. Does he really think I’m scared of him? Like hell I am.
I pointed my index finger at him.
“Listen, no one is scared of you. So don’t be full of yourself just because you’re an alpha.”
A smile tugged at his lips as he stepped forward and caught my finger in his grasp.
“You know, it’s rude to point at someone who’s your senior. Kitty, are you sure you want to be punished?”
I yanked my hand free and pulled my finger back, then grabbed my luggage. When I looked up, he was just standing there, arms folded across his chest, watching me silently.
Was he not going to stop me anymore? Good. That was better.
I started walking toward the door, glancing back every few steps—who knew if he might try to stop me again?
“Kitty, don’t be so on guard. I’m not going to stop you. After all, I’m such a good boy,” he said with a smirk.
I rolled my eyes at his words and quickly slipped out, shutting the door behind me.
My room was on the fifth floor, so I headed straight for the elevator. Just as the doors were about to close, a few other people stepped inside. When the elevator finally reached my floor, I hurried out. But I noticed something strange—people were staring at my back.
Wait… what’s wrong? Did my clothes tear?
As I walked down the corridor, I caught sight of a mirror. Instead of turning around, I quickly switched on my selfie camera and snapped a picture of my back.
And when I saw it—
“I am an idiot who eats shit.”
The words were scrawled across a white paper that had been stuck to me.
My face burned with anger. Don’t tell me… this was Zale’s doing? That bastard has no manners!
I ripped the paper off, tore it into tiny pieces, and marched toward the room assigned to me. The door opened easily, and I stepped inside.
But the moment I did, my eyes went wide, and my whole body froze. Someone was standing there.
