Chapter 8 Doom at your service
Chapter 8
YRENE’S POV
I was now at the triplets’ doorstep, breathing heavily. Just as i was breathing heavily, I was also sweating profusely. It was really hard for me to run that fast, especially for someone like me who had a heavy weight, and lots of fat.
Then I pinned my hair behind my ears, and gulped down my saliva in fear of what could happen the moment I walked in through the door.
But I had no choice. As I was right here, I was delaying a lot, and the triplets, especially Kaden and Reece, are probably getting angry by the minute.
I laid my hand on the doorknob, and opened the door. I put out my right foot at first, then my left foot, and when I finally got in, I shut the door behind me.
Slowly, I began to look up, and it felt as if a huge stone was thrown at my heart when I saw Kaden and Reece, glaring at me as they both sat down on the couch.
“Took you long enough to get here after seeing my message.” Reece said, through his teeth.
I took a step backwards in fear of what was going to happen next, and I clutched unto my back pockets, fearing what they would do to me.
Then both Kaden and Reece stood up, then walked towards me. I couldn’t move backwards again when my back leaned on the wall, and could only expect the worst.
“You had the guts to leave while we were still having a game. You didn’t even come home; you went somewhere else!” Kaden scolded.
“I…I apologize. A friend of mine needed…”
“Just shut the hell up, Yrene! You have no considerable excuses to make. You will go through your punishment, fair and squarely.” Reece cut in.
Then they both grabbed me by each arm, and led me down to the basement. We got to the basement, and spider webs caressed my face, and body, but I could not clean them off because Kaden and Reece would not let go of my arm.
“Been ages since we used this basement. Now, you are going to clean this basement. I want it to be clean, and neat. Also, find a bulb to this place to make it seem less of a basement. When you are done, come upstairs to take up your next punishment.” Reece said, then he walked out with Kaden, and slammed the door shut.
I was spooked, and didn’t know where to start from.
Achoo! I sneezed hard, and sniffled. I squinted my eyes, wondering why there was so many spider webs here. After all, the basement was still in a house which is still in use.
I dusted off the spider webs off my body, and found my way around for a broom which I used to start taking off the spider webs that were all over the place.
I coughed and sneezed as a reaction to the dust around. It was hard to bear, but there was no choice for me. I had to make up for my wrongs, and thankfully, it wasn’t something that had to deal with body pain.
After cleaning up the basement, I dusted off my clothes, and stared at the basement. It looked much better now, and the light bulb indeed gave it a different touch.
I smiled at my accomplishment, and walked out of the basement. I walked back to the sitting room, and met Kaden and Reece, playing video games. I wondered where Ethan was, and what he was probably going to say to me.
Kaden glanced at me, and sneered, then alerted Reece that I was done.
“You should be thankful Ethan isn’t ready to speak, if not, you should be expecting your world to crumble, walls to shatter, and the ground to open for you to be swallowed in, because I don’t think you’ll be able to bear whatever he tells you to do.” Reece said, looking at me disrespectfully.
Then they both stood up.
“Now, we are hungry, and we currently do not want to taste your food, so we are going to go out to the restaurant, which you’ll follow us to.” Reece informed as he got ready.
I exhaled sharply, but not enough for them to hear. I wouldn’t want them to mistake it for a rebellious attitude as I didn’t have any more strength to take in more absurd punishment.
My phone beeped, and a message from Francesca came in which read:
“Please tell me what’s wrong. I’m worried to death, right here.”
I was about to reply for her to be chill, but I was interrupted by Kaden.
“Don’t tell me you want to use your phone while on punishment. Don’t make me break that phone, Yrene.” He threatened, and put on his footwear.
“Ethan isn’t eating out, so you’ll be stuck with just Kaden and I. Don’t worry, we plan to make your day just beautiful.” Reece smirked.
Somehow, something about that smirk made me feel uneasy, and I was hoping to the moon goddess that I wouldn’t have to do something unbearable.
We got to the restaurant, and as I was about to sit with them, Kaden looked up at me, and gave me a “are you serious right now?” look. I watched as they brought delicacies of food to their table, and they sat down, enjoying their meal.
At first, I was fine with standing by them, and watching them eat, but then, I got uncomfortable when people started staring at me as if I was a beggar who had decided to stay still until they agreed to give me food.
It was sort of embarrassing, and I was beginning to wish that they had given me marks with their claws which would heal in a matter of time than standing like this, which would forever remain a memory to those looking at me.
I fiddled with my fingers, and tears were about to slide down my eyes because I felt bad for being unlucky to have come to this world as someone who wasn’t privileged, and someone who was plus sized.
Part of the reasons those who were watching me were laughing was obviously because I was plus sized, and I probably looked funny right now, to them.
Suddenly, the restaurant’s door opened, and Ethan walked in, staring into my eyes as he moved towards me. Wait, was he going to give me his own share of torture, right here and right now?
Adding to the humiliation I was already feeling? Worse was that I couldn’t read his expression at all. I couldn’t tell if I was doomed or not.
