Chapter 3 The Kidnap
Aiden doesn't come to the class after he left in the morning before the class began. What my grandfather told me before he died stabs my mind again and again. Is he really the man my grandfather was talking about? I asked myself constantly. This question throbbed in my mind.
Suddenly, I drag myself from the chair.
"What's wrong, Eve?" Mr. John, my professor, asks me, shocked to see me stand up in the middle of the lecture.
"I need to go...my aunt is hospitalized...so I need to go to the hospital…" I stammer.
I lie to him because I need to run away from Aiden, I need to go somewhere he cannot reach me. I don't know the reason behind what my grandfather told me but my wolf smells something fishy. My instinct tells me that something wrong will happen.
"Okay," Mr. John says in a dubious expression.
I put my stuff in the bag in haste and storm out of the class. I walk so fast that if someone sees me walking at such a speed, they may think that I am not a normal human. My wolf is so fast that I fathom if other wolves are faster than me.
As I walk down the stairs to the exit door, I see a few students walking here and there. Since it is a morning class, the students would have been in their respective classes rather than loitering around. The strict attendance in our college holds the students inside the class.
I walk towards my jeep and get inside it. I start the engine and pull away from the college through the highway that leads to my house.
"Why so fast and furious."
I instantly turn my head left to see a man sitting next to me. I gasp in awe to see him. There wasn't anyone in my car when I drove from my college parking lot. He might have been hiding inside my car but my car was locked. I pull over my jeep in apprehension. I see a punch coming towards me and before I can block it, it hits my nose so hard that my head spins with dizziness. I try to defend myself but it is already too late. A blow from the stranger which is as hard as the heavy blow of the hammer gets me blackout.
My subconscious mind makes him feel like I am half asleep. My body feels like I'm in motion. My cheek thuds on something hard, inflicting immense pain. The thought of the hard blow earlier makes me cringe. I don't know how long a werewolf takes to heal but for me, I heal in an hour. I feel like sitting somewhere with my face lying on the bench-like seat where I was sitting.
I find out that my hands are handcuffed behind my back. I can sense the smell of various werewolves. I battle with my body to open my eyes. I can sense everything happening to me even in my unconscious state making me strive to come to consciousness. I slightly open my eyes to see myself in the back seat of a van. I instinctively pull myself up to see a group of men looking at me. I can tell from their smell that they are not human but werewolves like me. They are taking me somewhere in a van.
"She finally came to her senses," the man who hit me on my face says with relief.
"You got a quick healing power," he adds.
"Who are you?" I snarl at him trying to free myself.
"Don't hurry, you will know it soon," the man says in a calm voice.
"And sorry for the blow, I didn't mean to hurt you but I knew you are a hard girl to grab without making you unconscious," the man said with a half-smile.
"I am Adam, I am the beta," he adds, biting his lower lip.
"I want to go home, just leave me alone," I shout at the top of my voice.
"Don't try to let your wolf out, we came here to take you home," the other man says.
"Don't you miss your pack? Don't you want to be with them?" Adam asks.
I don't utter even a word. How could he ask me such a question, I remember nothing about the pack to miss it. I don't even remember my parents. I just miss my grandfather like hell. I wish for him to be by my side. If he were with me, this day might not have come. It was too late to attempt to defend myself. Even if I let my wolf out, an untrained wolf like me cannot fight those men who look strong enough to knock me down with a blow. Apprehensive of what will happen next, I bend my head, biting my lips.
The Van pulls over after traveling for such a long time. My stomach is already growling with hunger. Adam unlocks the handcuffs while the other men get out of the van and talk with other men outside the van. I stay inside the van thinking of what I should be doing next. I don't even know where I am and who these men are.
When the door is opened I see a crowd as if they are excited to see me.
"Come out," Adam says in a soft tone.
I jump out of the Van without uttering a word. I am surprised to see a crowd of people looking at me like I am something special. They are in their best dresses like they are attending some kind of ceremony.
"She is so beautiful," I hear a girl whisper behind me.
"But she isn't a match for….,"
I turn my head back to see two girls behind me. A girl wearing a purple gown looks at me with a serious face. She looks deep into my eyes. I instantly turn my head, cutting off the eye contact. I am seeing werewolves for the first time other than my grandfather. I feel weird to be in the compound of werewolves. I follow Adam who leads me through the crowd towards a huge mansion beautifully structured. Two guards walk beside me like my bodyguard. I get it that now I am trapped in this wolfland.
I follow him inside the mansion that has a huge round stair leading to the upper floor. A group of four girls comes down the stairs and bows to Adam in respect.
"Is the room cleaned?" Adam asks the girls in a serious tone.
"Yes sir, it is perfectly clean," one of the girls says, bowing her head in respect.
"Good!" He says walking through the corridor.
I follow him in silence. I can see my future. I would be like these girls doing the chores and bowing to the so-called elites of the werewolf pack.
Or worse, I will become their slave...
I desperately wanna find out where I will be taken, and who I am about to meet.
