My Love is Dead

I was supposed to become someone else's wife today.
Standing at the altar, facing my gentle fiancé, I struggled to say "I do" without meaning it. For three years, I had been trying to forget the one who would never come back—my first love, Shawn Mitchell.
The military said he died in combat. I cried until I had no tears left, and even learned to start over.
