CHAPTER 3
She winced in pain and gently followed him towards the men in black despite the fright she felt, if it were a normal girl getting ambushed she would have already screamed in fright or wet her garment but Alice was brave and didn't show her fear in her face.
The men made way as Alice was dragged into a carriage, a carriage that was larger than the one her so-called father had sent over to pick her up.
The moment she stepped into the carriage a very gentle mint scent enveloped her nose, she looked around the dark carriage that was fully covered in thick black curtains in fear.
"Don't just stand there, have a sit. Princess."
A very cold and rigid voice snapped at her, it was as cold as ever and didn't have any sort of emotion laced in it.
She gently sat on the hard seat in the carriage and stared into space as she could not see the face of the man in the carriage.
"Who are you?"
She asked, she tried to sound not so obvious but her fear was written in her voice, she was shaking and her breathing was as loud as a trumpet.
"Just like my minions have said, I'm the crown prince of Aceland. And you can stop being afraid I shall not devour you!"
He replied to her.
"Eeermn... I am not afraid of you it's just.."
"I can hear your knuckles clasp against each other, your knees are also shaking vigorously and your breathing is as annoying as a frog's voice. But I shall not mind that!"
The man said and Alice gasped.
She was speechless.
"I will not keep you waiting here for a long time and shall get down to business, please remove your cape!"
He said, it was rather in an ordering tone.
"No way! I am a princess and I am not allowed to show my face to anyone until my eighteenth birthday, you can come and see my face later at the ball if that is what you want to look at!"
Alice retorted at once.
She somewhat found the man very creepy.
"Pardon me, your highness, I did not say you should remove your veil, I shall only take a look at your hair!"
The man said and Alice was rather more confused.
"Why do you want to look at my hair?"
She asked.
"I am trying to be patient with you my lady, please remove your veil I shall only take a look at your hair!"
He ordered.
Alice had no choice but to gently remove her black cape revealing her long wavy lilac hair that shined even in the dark.
"Lavander hair...."
He muttered.
"Do you perhaps have a birthmark on your spine?"
He asked.
"A butterfly precisely!"
He added and Alice stared at him in shock.
How did he know the secret that only Lara knew!"
She had a birthmark of a butterfly on her spine and could only be looked at it through a mirror.
"Yes... How did you know and why are you asking me these wired questions? You sound creepy..."
We replied to him.
"Well thank you for confirming it to me my lady, I shall see you at the ball tonight, please excuse yourself!"
He ordered.
Alice was shocked, what type of prince will be this rude to a princess?
She didn't even know what his face looked like and he is ordering her out of his carriage, isn't he supposed to escort her out?
"I presume your lordship can be kind enough to tell me your name. Maybe I could give you a more courtesied hello during the ball tonight!"
Alice said, hoping she could get to know his name.
"That I can't tell my lady.."
His voice was still cold.
As Alice stood up from the carriage seat she was lucky enough to catch a glimpse of his silver eyes, they were cold and piercing and his long white hair almost covered part of his left eye.
That was all she could catch from his face as she quickly walked down from the carriage.
With a sigh of relief, she walked back to her own carriage still thinking about the coldness in his voice and how he asked her creepy questions.
As she sat back down on her chair Lara quickly grabbed her arms looking around her whole body and looking for traces of bruises or anything of all sorts but there were non.
"Come on Lara I am totally fine, but the crown prince of Aceland sure is a very strange man, he would not tell me his name and would not let me look at his face, he strangely asked to take a look at my hair and after that, he asked about my secret birthmark.
I am still surprised how he knew that I a had butterfly on my spine!"
Alice complained to Lara who looked at her in awe.
"That is really very strange, why will the sir of the south ask for your birthmark? He must be someone close or knows something about the events of your birth.
By the way, he is called sir Gagé Alfredo of the south Aceland."
Lara replied Alice.
As she sat back on her carriage chair and her troop rode away his odd name lingered on her lips.
"Gagé..."
She repeatedly muttered in her mind as she does not want to forget his name easily.
"We are here!"
One of the guards from outside the carriage yelled and Alice jerked up from her seat, she had almost fallen asleep from the very long tiring ride to the huge Mariposa town where the palace which used to be her home was located.
She quietly put on her veil and covered her face with a cape, she made sure to put on her dark gloves as the curtains were pulled open and Lara walked out before her, then helped her down from the carriage.
