Falling from Heaven - Part 5
30 Minutes later...…
"It is with great regret that I hereby find Celine, warrior angel, First Lieutenant of Michael's regiment, guilty of treason. After careful consideration, due to your good name and record here in Heaven, I have decided that you are sentenced to live out life on earth. You will not be stripped of you grace, but you your wings be taken. We don't want you to be torn apart, but we do not want you to be able to use your wings either. The less the humans
see of you angel side, the better. You will be banished to earth with immediate effect. This is the final decision of the council." Speechless, that is what I am for the first time ever in my life, speechless. "You are all dismissed, except for Michael, Celine and Luke." Well at least I get to say goodbye to Luke, and look Michael in the eye one last time, so that he can see what he has done to me.
"Celine, I am so sorry, but at least you be defenceless, you will still have your grace to help you along with your amazing skills." Luke hugs me tight, and I can 't help but to cry. "Thank you, Luke, at least you care." As I turn around Gabriel is standing there with Michael. he looks from me to Michael and just sighs. "I am sorry Celine, the council wanted to banish you to hell, but I managed to talk them out of it. We will send you to a forest close to civilization, so that no-one sees an angel fall from heaven, but close enough for you to find shelter quickly. I need to take your wings now, it's going to hurt, but I will leave your grace with you." And with that, my wings are ripped from me, I feel so naked without them. Gabriel gives me a tight hug and whispers something in my ear, but I can't hear what it is, I am in too much pain. Michael just looks at me, tears filling his eyes and walks away. With that, I am falling, falling from Heaven, falling to earth....
On Earth Celine's P.O.V.
O man, how long have I been laying here? My back hurts, my eyes are burning. Wait, where am I? It's so dark here, a lot of trees, which is nice I guess, no humans around that could have seen me fall. Ooo, a lake, I can wash my face. Ouch, it burns it’s cold. Why do I feel like I am being watched? I don't see anything in the tree line or in the water. Ok, time to leave and find some shelter.
3 Hours later....
As Celine walks through the forest looking for shelter, she has a strong feeling that someone is watching her. She finally finds a cave, checks it to make sure there are no animals and finally sits down to gather her thoughts. She has no idea what the time is, no idea how long she has been on earth. All she remembers is seeing the look of final betrayal in Michael's eyes, tears forming in them and Michael finally walking away from her without a goodbye or even a reason why he betrayed her. Her body is sore and tired. All she wants to do was sleep, but she is too scared to sleep in the cave. The feeling of someone watching her is still with her and her senses are on high alert.
Finally, she gives in to the exhaustion and closes her eyes, praying for her own safety. The voice in her head is gone.
So now she is completely alone. With that thought, she falls asleep. … As light fills the cave, Celine startles awake, aware that there is a wolf sleeping in the entrance of the cave. It is so big, that she is sure it is not a normal wolf. Very slowly she gets up from where she was sleeping, tiptoeing as quietly as she can past the wolf and out of the cave entrance. As soon as she outside, she starts running as fast as she can, but she feels week and lightheaded. This is a new feeling for her but decides to push on. If that wolf gets whiff of her smell, it will surely follow her and tear her apart. Any head start she can get is a better chance of her making it to safety.
Suddenly Celine hears a high-pitched howl, and she can feel her heart racing in her chest. "O no, it's awake, I need somewhere to hide or at least climb to safety. I do not want to be wolf food, not now," is the only thing going through her mind. "Hey, up there, by that patch to the right," it's the voice in her head, it is back, and actually helping her. "Ok, I am really losing my mind, but it can wait until I am safe." Celine pushes up the path and finds a small little cabin that looks abandoned. "Hallo!! Anyone home?! Please I need help, I am being chased by a huge wolf!! Please!!" Doesn't look like anyone is home. "Go inside, close the door and keep quiet, you’re shouting surely alerted the wolf to where we are." The voice says annoyed. "Hey, don't get cocky with me, you are the one that told go up the path. Why am I talking to my conscience anyway, it's not like your real, I am just going crazy? I blame Michael for this." Celine stomps her foot on the floor of the cabin.
She can hear the wolf howling in the distance, it is getting closer to the cabin. Within minutes, she can hear it growling at the door, while clawing at it. The wolf backs off, gives one last howl, and runs off. Celine plonks down on the cabin floor, sighing in relieve. With her head in her hands, she gains her composure and convinces herself to check out her surroundings. Her stomach starts rumbling, and she feels very weird. "Your hungry, that sound is your stomach telling you that it wants food." The voice is so annoying. "How can I be hungry, I am an angel, we don't get hungry." Celine starts looking around but feels lightheaded. "You’re not Heaven anymore honey, you’re on earth, here you are as good as human, with superpowers", it almost sounds like voice is kind of proud of that fact. Which part of it is not clear to Celine though?
