Vivian's Demise

Vivian sat up working in her office. It was late and she'd promised her new fiance that she'd meet him for dinner at the restaurant she owned but she knew he'd already eaten and she had an important meeting she was still preparing for. Her father had given her this company since she was his only child and it had been one of the most important things in her life, aside from her own children of course. She just wanted what was best for her business and that meant meeting with investors no matter how much she needed a break.

Vivian got up and paced to her office window where she looked out into the yard. Beatrice, her youngest daughter, was outside stargazing. One day Vivian had hoped she'd be at the helm of the family business, not that either of her kids knew that. She sighed, heading back to her desk to look over her notes again.

She didn't remember what happened after, she must have fallen asleep at her desk because she'd awoken to a sudden sharp pain in her abdomen. There was a shadow looming over her but she couldn't make it out. She attempted to sit up trying to push her attacker away when suddenly they grabbed her by her silvery ponytail and yanked her head back. The attacker yanked the knife free from her stomach, sending another jolt of pain through her body. Then suddenly it came down, slicing a jagged line along her throat.
