The Solarians
My heart was racing thinking about meeting my parents, I’m so nervous I really didn’t think it could be this easy. I thought that this was going to be harder than it was but thank goodness. I still can’t get what he said out of my head that he’s been looking for me and so have my parents for years. Why couldn’t they find me I still have my birth name or so momma steph said she never changed it. I’m hoping that they are going to be as excited to see me. My stomach is hurting so bad from my nerves. I pushed my thoughts out of my mind as we pull up to a big iron gate that’s in the middle of the woods. I didn’t quite here him and what he said to the buzz box that was responding back to him. He reaches up and takes his hat off and that’s when I see it, a silver streak going through his hair just like mine. He looks over at me and responds, “you ready for this. Theres no going back now everyone here’s going to be so happy that you found us.” I smiled shyly “who’s everyone? I have a big family.” He chuckles at me no I mean yes think of it as a village of our own here like a pack were no all blood but were family no matter what.” I couldn’t help but smile he was able to take away all my nervousness away I was able to be myself and I was comfortable already. Looking out the window I could see houses all around spread out it looks to be maybe 20 or so houses. As I climb out of his truck I could see there’s a big garden and people are going up and down the aisle collecting produce that’s ready to be picked. He waves me over to him and smiles “this is it you ready?” I nodded and follow him up to a group of people where a tall stalky man and an elegant but fierce woman is talking to the crowed of people. The crowed started whispering which caught the man who was talking’s attention. I thought he was looking right at me but then I realized that he was looking intensely at Stark and not me and as if he already knew he looked right at me and grabbed the woman next to him he whispered to her and shock, grief and happiness showed on her face. “Ladies and gentlemen, we are done for now we will regroup in a little,” he explains as he’s looking right at me. Everyone fans out and its left to the 4 of us now. I look at them shyly and the lady says, “Sapphire…. Is it really you?” she says eagerly. Stark nudges me and I nervously answer, “yes I’m Sapphire Stone. I came here looking for you I had only this picture and the Lisbon village to go on.” I was to nervous to talk I was scared to be disappointed that maybe they didn’t want me here. “How did you find us, we have been searching for you for years oh my goodness the spirits have finally answered our prayers Slade! She says excitedly” Slade my father walks to me a touches my face and pulls me close to him my precious filia, my daughter!!!” Beatrix rushes over as well and wraps me in her arms I never thought that this day would come to find my real parents and this be the reaction. I didn’t realize that I was crying till they let go of me. “Welcome home Sapphire ohh mama has missed her filia,” Beatrix expresses. “what does filia mean?” I wondered Slade smiles and responds it means daughter its Latin. Do you not have any memory my daughter of us?” “I am sorry but no I don’t remember much of anything till I was about 11. I’ve tried my hardest to remember my past hoping I could find the answers why you guys didn’t want me,” I looked down sadly. I hated that I have no memory of them or anyone. “Its ok sweetheart we can fix that we can help you open your mind up to remember everything but theres some things when this happens that you won’t quit understand who you are and what you are. I figured since you don’t remember we need to sit and talk but I don’t want to overwhelm you. You just got here I want you to get comfortable. I hope you would like to stay here so we can help you figure everything out but if not then I completely understand. I know finding us feels like a lot already but we have been patient this long you can take as long as you need,” Beatrix says smiling. I couldn’t help smiling today has been crazy and already mentally exhausting but I’m happy. “I don’t mind staying this is why I came to figure everything out my foster mom Steph encouraged this and supported me in wanting to do this all by myself. So yes I’d like to stay if you will have me.” “Oh sweetheart this is wonderful news, Stark why don’t you show Sapphire where her room is. We have kept your room the same hoping this day would come but you can do whatever you want to it and there’s plenty of help to move new furniture in. So don’t worry about anything just get comfortable and when your ready come down we will be in the living room,” she hugs me and whispers me. I follow Stark as he carries my bags and we stop out front of a big double door with the letters FILIA on it daughter. My eyes tear up this is so emotional but I’m ready to move forward and start my future with my family. Stark looks at me and says “this is you and I stay in the house next door to you so of you need anything open your window and call for me.” He opens the doors to my room and sets my bags at the end of my bed it was a beautiful room big literally the size of 2 rooms in one. They were serious when they said they kept it the same. There was toys a kids desk and also a child’s clothes filling the closet the scent was mine I could smell me but it’s an old scent. The bed was a twin size bed with light pink fluffy ruffles and lacey bed spread and the curtains light pink as well. Wow that was a lot of pink. “I guess that I’ll see you when your ready.” He smiles all shyly now why was he shy he had no reason to be. “So, are you my brother?” I breathed out and the look of disgust shocked me. “Oh gosh no our families have been around each other’s way before we were born ha.” “Ok well good to know. Also thank you for real if it wasn’t for you, I never would have made it here or found them. This means a lot to me,” I say as I give him a kiss on the cheek. He smiles and walks out. I lay back on the bed and didn’t realize how tired I was till I was out cold.
