Prologue
My stomach drops when Stephen barges into the room looking like storm. He's not too pleased to see me here instead of the wife betrothed to him, my sister Renae
I've always wanted my sister's life, I've always wanted the boldness she had, I wanted to have friends, be a star like her and most importantly have my mother's love but here I was under Stephen Colbert, his face just an inch from mine and his hot breath fanning my face, a fuel to the rising hair on my back. I look at everywhere but his raging green eyes, I'm unable to when guilt gnaws at my conscience .
My sister's life was perfect compared to mine. She got mum's good genes including the perfect weight and always neat hair while I was fat with wild hair and freckles. Of course Stephe is pissed to see me in her bed instead of my sister.
" You wanted to marry me so bad that you poisoned your own sister? " His voice comes out in strained whispers. I'm unable to utter a word but shake my head in disagreement. I want to explain but my voice is trapped as he looks right into my soul.
He grabs my chin, forcing me to look at him "So your innocence is just a disguise. How many more tricks do you have up your sleeves"
I flinch at the accusation "I. . . I do. . . It's not what yo . . . you think" I stutter
He let's out a sadistic laugh. I've met Stephen at countless formal occasions before and I've seen him command people but I've never seen him so angry or unreserved before so I'm shaken to the core. He let's go my chin that's already aching from his firm grip and He straightens. I dare not meet his eyes
"You don't know what you've done to yourself Sally, you'll regret replacing your sister at that altar" He says before walking out the room.
My face falls in horror as my escape plan from the shackles of my mum goes down the drain right before my eyes . . . . .
