Introduction
Freya Ellis thought the worst thing that could happen today was running out of tea.
Then an alien fell from the sky and made it very clear she was now his problem.
It had been an ordinary Tuesday in the small coastal town of Wrenbrook. Freya had woken up late, tripped over her basket of laundry, burned her toast, and discovered she was down to one lonely tea bag. The plan was simple: get through work at the library, grab groceries, and be in bed by nine with a new book.
The plan did not include a roaring explosion overhead.
Or a flaming ship tearing through the morning clouds like a meteor with an attitude problem.
Or a smoking crater at the edge of her property.
And it definitely didn’t include a towering, broad-shouldered alien stomping out of the wreckage—half-armored, half-bloodied, all scowl—before promptly collapsing at her feet.
“Human,” he growled in a deep, gravelly voice that vibrated right through her spine, “you will assist me.”
She stared, torn between calling 911, making him a cup of tea, or checking if she’d finally gone mad.
Because apparently, her Tuesday had just been upgraded from mildly inconvenient to galactic catastrophe.
What followed would drag Freya into a world of interstellar politics, stolen technology, and dangerous enemies that wanted her very dead. It would also bring her face-to-face with two devastatingly handsome aliens—one grumpy and commanding, the other cheeky and disarming—each with a claim on her heart.
But for now?
She was just wondering if she’d ever get that cup of tea.
