Chapter 4: Gregor the Killer: Gregor the Priest
Jesper shook his head while the words circles around in his mind. This makes complete sense. He took hold of the words… “Sometimes the jail is just our mind. Settle around the silence within you and set yourself free Jesper.”
“Are you coming?”
Where are we going?” Jesper found himself outside the cell that trapped him. It feels like he was walking through thick mist. He can barely see in front of him. What kept him rooted on his path was the sound of whistling.
“Watch your step and stay in your lane,” Gregor said.
Jesper now consciously aware what the man said and this puzzles him. He start to wonder how many lanes there was and what would happened if he found him on the wrong lane?
Since he can’t see clearly in front of him it took a moment before he realized a big gap opened suddenly right in front of him. He found himself falling swiftly and far down below before his body landed heavily onto a heap of autumn leaves.
“Shit, what just happened?” he questions himself. “Gregor, where are you?”
The only answer he received was the sudden fluttering of the birds that now surrounds him. He notices a particular one with a white chest slowly and regally walking towards him. Once his attention was focus on the creature it turns and walks away.
“Okay,” he mumbled and starts to follow. He noticed on either side of him or the bird the rest of the crows stood like honor guards watching as they past. “This is strange,” he mumbles.
“Gregor the killer…Gregor the priest…” taunt the now familiar voice owning it as his own.
It took him a moment before he realized he was looking at Gregor but the man has his back turned to him. He blinks twice before he now noticed the umbrella in his left hand and that his right hand was extended holding something.
“Gregor, what are you doing?” he asked firmly, authoritatively.
The man in question suddenly fired three rapid shots. He then turned to face him icy cold eyes. Again it took him a moment to understand he was looking past him. Jesper couldn’t control the urge to look behind him that was when the church was revealed as the mist seemed to part.
He looks back to Gregor who now dropped the gun. The object quickly slithered away as a snake.
“I am Gregor the killer. Remember who I am,” He lifts the umbrella and hit the ground once. The entire scene changed.
“What the hell?” Jesper quickly search for Gregor. It took a moment before he understood he was now a baby looking up from within the basket. The murmured voices puzzle him. The next moment several birds decide to shit on him.
“…that is a good sign,” the woman whispered.
“…I am a killer, I can’t protect him,” Gregor said.
“…you are priest too, keeper of our knowledge,”
The punch through the face wakes him from his trance. He instantly spit blood from his mouth looking at the circling men in the showers.
“What do you want?” his eyes search for a way to protect himself.
“We are here for you fool now strip,” the big tatted man orders.
“No,” he said flatly.
“Oh the memo was wrong. The fool challenges me,” The guy spit on the floor before he circles Jesper.
“What do you want?” Jesper tries his best to protect his back. He spit the blood from his mouth again.
“Here to kill you fool and collect the bounty,” the sharp looking toothbrush makes it appearance.
“Who give the order?” Jesper is trying to reach the door.
“Erick Dawn that fool is crazy but everyone knows he has money. I want my share. Boys grabbed the fool who thinks I don’t notice him shuffling to the door.”
“What about Gregor Drake?”
“Who the hell is he?”
“It’s common knowledge, his orders.” Jesper said flatly.
“What are you bubbling about?”
The man has moved so fast, Jesper first felt the burning on his skin before he understood he was knife across his chest. “What the hell…” his hands full of blood before he dropped onto his knees in the showers.
“Boss, boss, the demon is on his way.” One of the circling men said just before he scrambled away.
Jesper hears the blood running to his ears. This makes him deaf to the sound around him. The only sensation he can understood currently was the burning of his skin. It was strong enough to make him dropped onto the wet floor feeling a sense of relieve from the coolness. His eyes slowly closed while needing to accept the fact that he will definitely die in prison. As he lies there he was doing his best to understand the fragment pieces of his life.
“Open your bloody eyes. You can’t lie here for everyone to stomp on you.” Gregor orders in a voice filled with annoyance.
Jesper feels himself being dragged back onto his feet. The next moment he quickly needed to catch his breath when he found himself being drench in cold water. The shock of it made his eyes flew opened.
“What…what the fuck?” his sputtered as he spit the water and blood from his mouth.
“This isn’t the time yet,”
“Get away from me,” Jesper start to rip the shirt opened. His skin feels extra sensitive with the wet and harsh texture clinging against the knife cut. He look down at his chest, the long cut looks angry.
“Tell me Jesper Strange…which lane did you take?” Gregor was clearly very angry.
“What the hell are you talking about now?” Jesper step from the shower.
“What do you remember?”
“Just leave me the hell alone.” Jesper start to leave the shower but was stopped.
“I asked you a question fool.”
“I was a happily married man. Now I am in jail for her murder. I want everyone to leave me alone.” Jesper suddenly pushed Gregor hard and fast enough to make the giant of a man slightly staggered backwards. “I don’t need a killer; I am told I am that already. I don’t need a priest as I have nothing to confess.”
“You are Jesper Strange, go and see the fucking lawyer.”
“What bloody lawyer? I hired no one.” Jesper wipes across his face when he look again Gregor was gone.
“Great what next,”
