Chapter 5: I Am A Model

Chapter 5: I Am A Model

Alessia

I could see him under the ray of sunshine across his face from where he stood on the sidewalk and I noticed right away that he took care of his body. His shoulders are broad and I can see the fabric clinging around generous muscles. The man in the sharp suit had nice bone structure, it is what made him handsome but what made him hot was his demeanor. He stopped in front of me and slid his hand into his pant pocket with a proud chest and a troublemaker's smirk. I took the cigarettes out of my lips and released the smoke.

“Is it?” I asked sarcastically.

He has got some stubble on his face, he is definitely older than me but I don't know by how much. His skin is fair and it has smooth flesh and a sharp jaw. I smirked when his eyes dropped to my mouth as I removed the cigarettes from it. Then his eyes dropped even further to the book on my lap.

“Fight Club, huh?” He seemed amused though and I didn't know why.

“You can read, good for you.” I again smiled sarcastically.

I am what most men consider beautiful, so I have been dealing with guys for a long time. Even with me being so young, they always flirted, they always tried to charm me. They see a model and feel entitled to her like she herself is an advertisement. So I know how to handle men like this man in front of me.

“Yes, I have read the whole book, actually. Except for the big words, I had to sound those out.” He retorted playfully to my sarcasm.

It actually made me laugh which made him smirk again. His eyes scanned over my sitting body in the grass and all over my face but they dropped to my lips again. I have very plushy and very pink lips.

“What is your favorite part?” I decided to ask this man in the sharp suit.

I was challenging him to see if he was actually familiar with the book at all. Actually, he probably watched the movie.

“The twist ending and yours?” His answer doesn't give away much on whether it were the book versus the movie but I will answer him anyway.

“The philosophy on life of the female character.”

He tipped his eyes upward like he was trying to recall the information. I love the line so I could quote it from memory.

“She said she could die at any moment, the tragedy of her life is that she doesn't.” The deep chuckle that surfaced from the depth of this man's chest set heat through me.

“Keep smoking those and you are a step closer to death's door.” He brought things back around to the cigarettes between my fingers.

I brought it to my mouth and took a nice drag, I maintained eye contact while blowing the smoke back out.

“You could take a step too far that way and get run over by a negligent driver and I would still be here smoking this. You never know.” I shrugged, he chuckled again.

“You are kind of a smart ass, I think I like it.” He took a step closer. The tip of his fancy shoes were right on the border of where grass meets concrete.

“Do you often lurk outside of middle school?”  I decided to ask him since he was just looking at me.

“I should be asking you the same question.” He arched a dark brow.

“I borrowed this book from here.” I pointed to the building, his eyes shifted to the little book house and back to me.

“I am picking up my niece.” He replied to the question.

When I put the cigarettes out in the dirt beside me, he watched me do that too. He seems very observant, perceptive, I don't know why I did it but I found myself asking this man a question.

“How old?” The man in a sharp suit took one hand out of his pocket and swiped his large palm down his stubble jaw. My eyes focused on his very bruised knuckles. Interesting.

When he noticed, he smirked and slid his hand right back into his pocket. Whoever this man is, I have the distinct feeling that he isn't just some fancy businessman and I can't remember the last time I have been so intrigued.

“Six years, this does dose pre-kindergarten through eight grade, I believe.” His voice is very deep and hot.

“No wonder it is so damn big.” I glanced behind my shoulder at the massive building. If there is grass involved, you know you are in a good neighborhood.

“I am sorry, I never caught your name.” His fancy shoes took a step into the grass.

“That is because I didn't give it to you.” I smiled in amusement at his obvious amusement.

“I am Roy,” he bent down enough to extend a hand for me to shake.

Again, I saw the bruised knuckles but took his hand. I thought with him obviously noticing my gaze that he would at least explain the rough knuckles away but he didn't and it only made me more curious.

“Alessia,” I offered my name.

“Pretty name, even prettier girl.” His hand lingered in mine for a second longer than it needed to. They were warm but not overly soft, I liked the contrast against my very soft and much smaller hand.

I finally stood up which made him take a small step back, then his eyes scanned my body while I looked around for a trash can.

“The least I can do is throw it out, school grounds and all.” I held up the cigarette butt and spotted the can and when I walked towards it, he followed me.

“Are you waiting for someone too?” He asked.

“No,” I replied and he hummed.

“So, you are just reading then?” I nodded, turning back around suddenly which made us bump into one other. He is much taller than me and I liked it, seeing as I am five feet and guys lower than five and half feet feel small to me.

“You are tall,” my mouth spoke my thoughts aloud without my permission.

“For a girl, so are you.” He noted.

“I am a model,” I found myself saying.

Shut the fuck up, Alessia. I don't usually do this, the conversation with stranger's thing.

“Are you being sarcastic or serious? Because you definitely look like a model but you have been sarcastic for more than ninety-five percent of the conversation” His deep voice deadpanned and it made me laugh and he smirked again. His lips are modest in size but very well shaped.

“Unfortunately, I am serious.” I pushed my hair away from my neck and his soft gaze darted around my face again.

“Seriously, though, you are so damn fucking gorgeous. Why do you say that unfortunately?” He asked.

“I could have been a rocket scientist.” I shrugged.

“So could I, but here we are.” He ran a thumb across his bottom lip as he looked at me and damn did it make me clench my thighs.

This guy is sexy for no good reason, this is a middle school for the fuck sake.
