Five
“Please Diego, let me go,” I cried out once more knowing fully well, he'd never listened.
Diego's eyes gazed at me as he stood before me in the hospital ward, his presence suffocating and traumatizing at the same time as the memories of the past flooded me.
I tried to break free from this stronghold but to no avail, I tried stepping back but my legs felt stuck to the spot.
"You're even more beautiful than I had remembered Sofia," Diego said, his voice low and hunky.
My heart raced as he spoke, "Diego, please. Just leave me alone."
But it seemed he couldn't bring himself to let me go. The thoughts of my experience as Alpha Diego's hostage enveloped me at the sight of him.
It's been four fucking years, I had escaped and I hoped for nothing that would make me encounter this monster again but here he is, he had found me once more.
'How did he find me? his park is miles away from here, did someone around me give him information about me?' I thought.
Four fucking years. That's how long it's been since I last saw Diego. Four years since he shattered my world since he broke me, Since he took my virginity.
And now, here he stands, looking as devastatingly handsome as ever. His piercing gaze still sends shivers down my spine.
How dare he show up now? After all this time? After everything he put me through?
My mind races with questions. What does he want? Why is he here?
Diego's eyes stared at mine, his gaze burning with despair. I felt like he knew every bit of my thoughts.
I thought I'd moved on. But just at the sight of Diego, it all came flooding back like it was just yesterday.
The memories, the pain, the fear, it was all still there just below the surface, Waiting for a chance to surface.
I won't let him do those things to me again, I told myself. I won't let him break me once more. But seeing him again awakened a part of me I thought was long buried, a part that still craves his touch, his obsession.
“No,” I exclaimed internally. “I won't go down that path again.”
Diego's voice breaks the silence. "Sofia." He called.
My heart skips. His deep mysterious voice sent shivers down my spine.
Diego gazed at me "Four years of longing Sofia, Four years of craving, Four years of questions, of dreaming about you, tormented by thoughts of what happened to you and the fucking pregnancy...”
“I can't let you go Sofia, not now not ever.”He said, his voice low and menacing.
My eyes flashed defensively but there was something beyond. The fear, the vulnerability. "Please…" I whispered, my voice shaking. "Let me go."
Diego's laughter echoed through the room as he reached out, his fingers tracing my jawline, "You think I'll let you go that easily? You're still mine Sofia.”
"No, I'm not," I whispered trying to jerk away but Diego's grip tightened.
His eyes flashed with desire. "Your scent, your voice, your touch, your taste…..it's all still etched in my memory." He said.
My skin prickled with unease. 'That's it, memories. Those same memories are what I don't want to remember, Memories that have traumatized me for four fucking years.' I thought.
He stared deep into my eyes as if he could hear my thoughts, his gaze burning with intensity. "You're still haunted by those memories, aren't you?" Diego asked, his voice low and gentle.
I tried to look away but Diego's grip on my arm tightened. "Don't deny it, Sofia. I can see it in your eyes.”
My heart raced intensively, I tried to shake him off. "Let me go Diego."
But Diego's hold only strengthened. "Not until you listen to me," he said.
The hospital ward door opened, and a nurse walked in. "Is everything okay in here?" she asked, her eyes fixed on Diego's grip on my arm.
Diego's smile charmed the nurse. "Just a family discussion dear," He responded.
The nurse nodded and quickly exited, leaving us alone once more. Diego's focus returned to me.
"Please leave me alone Diego," I pleaded once more, knowing fully well he won't listen.
Instead of listening to my plea even for once, Diego's determination only grew. "I want to know what happened to you after you left Sofia, where did you go? Who did you meet? Who helped you escape?"
I tried to push him away but Diego's strength overpowered me, leaving me hopeless. "You have no right to ask me these questions Diego,” I snapped trembling.
Diego's face was inches from mine, and his breath whispered against my skin. "I have every right Sofia. You're the mother of my children." He spat.
My heart skipped at the mention of “my children.”
I'm pretty sure I had escaped before Alpha Diego's men arrived at the hospital four years ago. How did he know about my children? Did he get the information from the doctor? The questions overshadowed me.
"Where are my children?" He demanded.
My fear spiked. "You'll never take them away from me Diego," I said, my voice trembling, I couldn't bear to see my kids with Diego.
Diego's eyes softened. "I won't hurt them, I promise. I need to know where they are and how they've been all these years."
I stared at him. "You'll never have custody, Diego."
Diego's mysterious smile sent shivers down my spine. "We'll see about that," he said, his voice threatening my insides.
As Diego's lips brushed against mine, I felt a spark of electricity. “No, I refused to give in.”
"Stop this," I whispered, pushing him away.
Diego's eyes narrowed. "You still feel it, don't you? The connection between us Sofia?"
I shook my head. "No Diego, there's no such thing as a connection between us," I responded.
But Diego's gaze pierced through me. "Don't lie, Sofia. I can smell your desire, Your longing for my touch."
My face burned with embarrassment. How could he still affect me? After these years of trying to get my life back on track after Diego's merciless torture, I still felt a little bit of excitement about seeing him as much as I was terrified.
Diego's voice dropped to a whisper as if he could hear my thoughts. "I'll make you mine again Sofia. Mark my words."
Just then, there was a knock on the door and a male Nurse came in. "Sofia, what's going on here?" he asked, his eyes fixed on Diego's grip.
Diego released me, his gaze fixed on the nurse. "Just catching up with nurse Sofia," He said.
His eyes narrowed. "You need to leave Now sir." He told Diego.
Diego's smile sent shivers down my spine. "This isn't over Sofia." He snapped.
With that, he turned and left, leaving me and the nurse alone in the ward.
"Are you okay?" He asked, his eyes laced with concern.
I nodded, still shaken. "Yeah," I responded as I watched him leave.
Diego's parting words echoed in my mind: "This isn't over Sofia."
I stood frozen, my heart racing as his words echoed continuously. How could he still affect me?
As I regained myself, I moved to the door leaning against it with a heavy heart.
"Get a hold of yourself Sofia," I whispered to myself.
But Diego's scent lingered, teasing my senses. I felt a mix of relief and frustration.
Why the fuck did he have to come back now? Why did he have to stir up all these forgotten emotions again?
"Get out of my head, Diego," I whispered to myself.
But his words lingered, "This isn't over Sofia."
I shook my head in frustration. What did he want from me? Why couldn't he just leave me alone?
I've tried so hard to let these traumatizing memories go away but the sight of Diego stirred them all up.
I tried to wave off What had just happened but inside, I was a mess. Diego's reappearance had awakened a part of me I thought was long buried.
"Why now?" I wondered. "Why after all these years?"
Memories flooded my mind, Diego's touch, his kisses, his possessiveness, his torture.
"No," I told myself firmly. "I won't go down that path again."
But Diego's eyes, his smile, his words….everything haunted me, held me hostage and I couldn't break free.
Just then my phone rang, and I picked up. "Hey, how's your day going?" Leon asked his call a distraction, waking me up from my thoughts.
I hesitated, unsure how much to reveal. "Interesting," I responded.
Leon's tone was serious, noticing the unease in my voice. "What happened."
"Nothing serious, I'm just stressed out with work," I said covering up what had just happened.
"Alright dear, take it easy on yourself, everything's going to be fine." He said.
"I hope so," I responded.
“See you at home." He said hanging up.
Leon's reassurance calmed my nerves. But I couldn't shake off the feeling that Diego's reappearance had set off a chain reaction, one that would change everything.
