What happened
Mia found herself back in the same club where it all started.
Two weeks ago, it was Nelson's birthday. They were dating just over a month by then. He threw a party for his friends and hers. Mia invited her best friend Anna and Sarah came along with them too. They had drinks while Sarah stayed sober because of her medical condition.
Mia is not a big drinker. She remembered drinking only one drink that day. Some fruity drink offered to her by Nelson. She remembered Nelson dancinv with his friends and Anna joined them. Sarah was watching the fun silently. That's all she remembered. She doesn't have a clue how she ended up in Damien Bishop's bed.
"Mia.." her best friend Anna squealed excitedly, pulling Mia out of her head.
Anna hugged Mia, but Mia couldn't reciprocate the same excitement.
"Hey" she replied in a dull tone.
Anna frowned.
"What happened to you?" she asked worriedly.
Mia looked inside the dimly lit club feeling uneasy. Her misery started here. She thought she could try and speak with Damien Bishop. But that man turned out to be a devil.
"Anna, I have something i want to ask you about" Mia shared.
Anna's frown deepened.
"Do you want to go inside?" Anna suggested.
Mia shook her head.
"No, lets go somewhere quiet" she replied.
Anna didn't ask questions. She agreed immediately.
"Lets go to my place then. Its close by" Anna agreed and both the woman went to Anna's apartment.
Once inside Anna's apartment, Mia settled down on the couch feeling the heavy weight on her conscience.
"Mia, what happened to you? Is everything alright? Is it Sarah? Did she do something else?" Anna inquired worriedly.
Mia smiled sadly. Anna was also an orphan back in the orphanage from where the Watsons adopted Mia. Despite being adopted by a rich family, Mia went to study in the same school as when she used to study back in the orphanage. As Sarah is sick all the time, she is petty and makes trouble for Mia more often than naught. The Watsons usually favor their own daughter than Mia.
'She is your sister'
'She is sick'
'Don't take it to heart'
'You should learn to share and adjust'
These are the very common words Martha Watson keeps telling Mia. As the adopted daughter, Mia knows her position very well. So she tried to stay away from Sarah as much as possible.
"Anna, do you remember what happened in Nelson's party that night? Who brought you home?" Mia inquired.
Anna looked confused.
"That was almost more than two weeks ago. Why are you asking about that now?" she asked curiously.
Mia sighed tiredly. She is exhausted. Her life was a little stable before even if its was not perfect. But after that night, nothing is stable. Everything is out of her control now.
"I cheated on Nelson that night" Mia confessed.
Anna gasped with shock.
"Mia? What do you mean? You are the most loyal and matured person i have seen in my life. How can you cheat on Nelson? Are you joking?" Anna asked with concern.
Mia shook her head as her tears started to spill freely.
"No, I wish I was. But that night, I ended up sleeping with Nelson's elder brother. I don't know how I ended up in his room. I wanted to confess all of this with Nelson, but dad begged me not to. Without the Bishops investment, Watson group will go bankrupt. From the very beginning I am deceiving Nelson. Its taking a toll on my sanity Anna. I don't know what to do" Mia confessed as her body shook with her sobs of depression and hopelessness.
Anna hugged Mia tightly.
"Mia, please don't cry. If you cannot do all of this anymore, lets leave. Even though the Watsons adopted you, they used you more or less like a living and breathing blood bank for Sarah. If not for you, the Watson group would have gone bankrupt a long while ago. They are extorting you. You are an honest and loyal person. They are using that for their own selfish reasons. Mia, lets run away" Anna begged for the nth time.
But Mia couldn't bring herself to leave the Watsons so abruptly. If she tasted a sense of paternal warmth from anyone, its from them. If she leaves them, she will end up an Orphan again.
"That's not the problem now. Its Damien Bishop" Mia shared everything that happened with Damien, leaving Anna stunned.
"That ass*ole, who does he think he is? Nelson is his own brother. How can he even demand you to deceive his own brother?" Anna cursed Damien.
Mia's tears dried up, but her heart felt heavy. The mere thought of Damien is scaring the hell out of her.
"It feels like, Damien Bishop hates Nelson. His hatred is so strong, that i could feel it. But why?" Mia wondered outloud.
Anna frowned as a thought entered her mind.
"Lets check in the internet. Lets see if we can find anything about the Bishop family" Anna suggested. Without waiting for Mia's approval, Anna went inside to fetch her laptop. She typed the Bishops name in the search engine. Several pages popped up. They scrolled through the pages one after another, but they found nothing special.
"Did you notice? Pictures of Nelson, Mr. Sebastian Bishop and his wife Natasha Bishop are everywhere. But Damien Bishop's Pictures are not included in their family pictures. And neither is any news or details about him" Mia noticed.
They scrolled down the pages. In the end, Mia froze when she found Damien's Picture. Even in the pictures, he looked intimidating.
"Anna, open this page" Mia pointed out a page where she saw Damien's picture.
