Blood Donor
Mia stumbled inside the Watson home in a daze. She was expecting to see the worried faces of her adopted parents. Because she dissappeared suddenly for the entire night and is only coming back in the morning. Damien Bishop locked her in the room alone for most of the night. He did came back to give her an ultimatum.
'I want a file from Nelson. I want you to find where he is hiding it and bring it to me like a good girl. You can refuse to cooperate. But be prepared to see the down fall of the Watson family. I can and I will do anything for what I want. You messed with the wrong person, my 'Nemesis'' Damien Bishop said coldly.
Damien didn't give her a chance to refuse. She couldn't even open her mouth to refuse. He showed her a file where the details of how many times the Watsons evaded tax were clearly seen with proofs. Mia's shoulders tensed. She didn't know all this. She thought the Watson's were kind and righteous.
'Everyone evades tax, but that doesn't make my parents bad. They adopted me and took care of me' she thought as she entered inside the Watson residence.
"Oh my god. Mia, where were you?" Martha Watson, Mia's adopted mother inquired anxiously.
Mia opened her mouth to reply, but Martha continued.
"Never mind. It doesn't matter. We need to go to the hospital urgently. Your sister needs a blood transfusion. Only your blood matches with hers. Lets go" Martha urged Mia.
Mia was taken aback by this demand.
Martha and Patrick Watson have a daughter named Sarah who is an year older than Mia. But Sarah is born with a disease where her body wouldn't be able to make blood on its own. She needs a blood transfusion quiet often. And coincidentally, Mia's blood group matches with Sarah's blood group.
"Mom, its just been a week since the blood transfusion. I feel weak. Why can't we find some other donor for Sarah?" Mia asked hesitantly. After all, this is the first time Mia is unwilling to donate more blood to Sarah.
"Mia? I didn't know this was too much for you. I just assumed that you wouldn't refuse to help your sister. You are our daughter too. We are a family. I thought your sister meant alot to you. Sarah loves you alot. I am sorry if its too much" Martha apologized while wiping the tears from her eyes.
Mia felt a pang of guilt in her heart. Everything she has today is given to her by the Watson family, even though she was asked to give blood to Mia quite often.
After Martha's breakdown, Mia couldn't refuse.
"No mom, its ok. This is not too much. Sarah's health is important" Mia replied apologetically and quietly followed after Martha to the hospital.

In the hospital, Mia blankly looked at her blood dripping into the blood bag. Everything that happened in the last twenty four hours exhausted her both mentally and physically. She was alone in the room, as both her adopted parents are with Sarah.
'Mom and dad might have been worried about Sarah. They probably didn't notice my absence last night' Mia thought to herself.
After the nurse finished collecting her blood, Mia was once again left alone with her thoughts.
'Shall I tell mom and dad about Damien Bishop? But what could they do? They are as helpless as i am. I cannot tell Nelson either. How did I ended up in this twisted situation?' she thought feeling exhausted.
She cannot break up with Nelson or say 'No' to Damien Bishop. She is stuck in the middle over what is right and what is expected of her.
Just then, she received a call from her father, Patrick.
"Dad" she greeted him softly.
"Mia, can you do me a favor my dear?" Patrick asked.
Mia sat up slowly. Her head is spinning after the blood donation. She is feeling weak and she wants to lay down and rest all day. But she doesn't want to disappoint Patrick.
"Ofcourse dad" she agreed, even though she doesn't want to.
"Thank you my dear. I know you wouldn't refuse. There is a meeting with the Bishop group today at noon. I heard Nelson is going to lead the meeting and he promised to buy you a ring this evening for your engagement. Will you attend the meeting in my place? You can go shopping right after the meeting with Nelson" Patrick suggested.
Mia smiled softly at the mention of Nelson's name. He is a gentleman who makes her laugh and feel comfortable with. Initially he was meant to marry Sarah. But as Sarah was sick, So Mia had to take her place. No one in their circle knows that the Watsons have another daughter, Sarah. As her sickness keeps acting up, her identity was always kept hidden. Nelson liked Mia, and now they were about to get engaged, soon.
Suddenly, Damien's face flashed in her mind.
'Can I do this to Nelson? Why does Damien hate Nelson so much?' She wondered to herself.
"Sure dad" she replied before disconnecting the call.
As she was walking out of the hospital, she felt dizzy and faint. She stumbled and was about to fall, but a strong arm wrapped around her waist, stopping the fall.
The moment the scent of the man hit Mia's nostrils, she froze with shock.
"I wonder if you are pretending to be pity, or you are really pity" his deep mocking tone made her jump away from him. She noticed that he is holding a stick again, but she knows that its to fool everyone. Her gaze traveled up to his eyes, and a chill ran down her spine. The hatred in his eyes is like fire which is ready to devour her as a whole.
"Excuse me" she muttered and ran away from there as fast as her feet could carry.
