~Rosa~
“Will Kelvin be available by twelve?” Rosa could hardly believe that she needed to draw up a schedule to see her own mate. Fortunately, his secretary was also a long-time friend of the house since childhood.
“I don't know, his schedule is quite congested today,” Sandra admitted regretfully.
Sandra, Kevin's secretary, came from a mid-ranking family that fell on hard times; it was due to Rosa's parents taking them in as servants that kept them off the streets.
“I know that I might be imposing on you, but is there no way you could sneak me in somewhere?” Rosa was practically begging now.
The two of them had grown side by side like sisters. Rosa was the one who recommended Sandra as a plausible choice for Kevin to pick as his secretary, and it turned out to be one of the few requests she had made in their marriage that he took seriously.
“If it's you…I think I can figure something out.” A sigh of relief washed over Rosa. She knew that she could rely on such a wonderful childhood friend.
“Thanks, Sandra, I owe you one.” Rosa ended the call and began to prepare to meet her mate, dedicating the following hours to prepping herself, washing up with scented oils, and even styling her hair and putting on more makeup than she normally would.
The last thing she did was to apply another layer of lipstick before smacking her lips together and walking out the door. She hadn't seen her mates in days and her wolf was whimpering with need.
Well, she had figured out how to kill two birds with one stone.
Despite the cool morning transitioning into a hot afternoon, she wore a rather thick coat coming outside. Evidence of her strange choice of dressing came when she continuously dabbed at her face from sweat, but it was a small sacrifice because of the surprise she had planned for her husband.
Beneath a thick, brown coat was her body strapped in sexy lingerie. She had learnt pretty early in her married life, but her mate was a man who viewed his partner downstairs like a compass rather than a simple bodily organ.
Every disagreement or request was always easier to sort out after they had rolled through the sheets together.
This would be no different…this–
“Harder baby! Harder!!”
Kevin's office door had been left ajar just by an inch; however, this gap was used to its maximum capacity in revealing the savage moans from Rosa’s oldest friend.
Rosa wasn't the one to tell anyone how to live their life, but couldn't this be saved for anywhere else but the office? Kevin would be disappointed if he caught her.
The startled Luna decided to give away her surprise and call her husband to tell him that she was at his office instead of meeting Sandra who sounded VERY occupied.
Barely a moment later her husband's ringtone flowed out of the office, intertwining with the sounds of Sandra and her lover's intimacy. So she had his phone, too?
Rosa didn't want to humiliate her friend but she also didn't want to leave without seeing Kevin, so she gave a few knocks of courtesy before blocking her eyes and stepping into the office.
“Rosa?” A hoarse, deep voice huffed out her name.
Her fingers fell from her hand with a feverish tremble, unveiling an unbelievable horror.
Her mate had thrown another woman over his desk and was buried as far as he could go into. His hands were firmly planted on her hips and there were fresh ‘lovebites’ over the woman, Sandra, her childhood friend.
“It's not what it looks like,” He lied without flinching as he pulled out of his secretary with the proof of his pleasure still dripping from his manhood.
Rosa watched them like an eye statue as he adjusted his attire, pulling up his pants. Sandra made little effort to dress up, and when she did, she deliberately showed off more hickeys and souvenirs of Kevin's hand on her skin.
Rosa felt sick down to her stomach.
Sandra knew that she was going to be here, but she had still gone along with her anyway. No. Her role in this entire thing was not so passive; she wanted Rosa to be here, to catch them entangled dirtily together. She wanted Rosa to know that the man she had cared about for 5 years didn't give a rat's a** about their mate bond.
“Before you make a big deal out of this, let's talk outside…” Kevin tried to wrap his hands around her and take her outside the office, but she didn't let him touch her. For the first time in their marriage, she slapped away his hand, refusing His touch.
“Don't come any closer to me!” She screamed at the top of her voice.
“How long?” She asked even though she knew she didn't want the answer.
“How long has this been going on?”
“This has never been a consistent thing,” Kevin said like that was supposed to make it much better. “The first time was a drunken mistake five months ago after I drove her home from working overtime,”
Rosa watched Kevin stretch out the fact that they were drunk like that was supposed to make her throw up her hands and accept that his heading into bed with another woman was an inevitable possibility.
The more she listened to him the more curdled her stomach became.
“Since we got married I haven't even looked in the direction of another man…” She said with a cracked voice, “How could you do this to me?”
“I did this?” Kevin asked growing defensive, “Shouldn't you take some responsibility for this? If you were able to fulfill your responsibilities as Luna, I wouldn't have needed to go outside for….” He glanced at Sandra, “...ways to relieve my stress,”
Rosa choked up listening to his shameless words; she couldn't take this anymore.
“I'm done,” She said firmly.
Kevin's eyes shifted, something strange and unfamiliar flickered within them.
“What do you mean?”
“Isn't it obvious?” She let out a bitter smile. “I, Rosa Quinn, renounce the title of Luna from this moment onwards and reject you, Kevin Gates, as my mate.”
