Chapter 5
Elena’s POV
My eyelids forced open, and my body felt sore. I rolled over, and my body hit something. My eyes widened as I looked and realized the person with me in bed was Alpha Jaxon.
My lips curved up into a smile the minute I remembered everything that happened from last night that we knew we were mates. I wrapped my arms around him and placed my head on his back.
Alpha Jaxon rolled over and stood up from bed. He didn't spare me a glance or say a word to me. I sat up on the bed and tried to get him to look at me, but it was clear that he was avoiding me.
I didn't want to think too much of it. Maybe he's just tired. After all the activity from last night was quite intense. I never imagined my first time to be that raw.
My body shivered in remembrance. I noticed Jaxon was starting to put on his cloths. It was still dawn a little bit dark outside and I wondered where he was heading to.
I walked up to him, tapped him and stood in front of him.
“Alpha Jaxon…” I called as I stood in front of him. He was forced to look at me this time, but didn't say anything to me.
“Good morning… where are you going to by this time?” I greeted and asked but he still wouldn't say anything to me.
We had such a wonderful time together last night and now I'm beginning to doubt all the things that passed between us.
The raw and unfiltered emotions. The kisses, touches and sweet lovemaking that my body is yet to recover from.
“Why don't you stay a little longer, besides we have a lot of things to talk about. And I have a question for you.” I said to him and he looked up at me impatiently.
“Why didn't you mark me last night? You and I are mates, and you can't deny the bond that we share. You experienced it yourself last night. With the way you held and made love to me.” I recounted with a smile on my lips.
“Why didn't you just mark and claim me right away? Isn't that what's supposed to happen?” I asked him and he heaved a deep sigh as he continued to dress up.
“Elena…” he called my name sternly, bringing my attention to him.
“This never happened…. You will accept the rejection.” Alpha Jaxon slammed that on me, and for a moment there, I thought I misheard him.
“What!” My mouth dropped wide open, and he nodded his head.
“You heard me, I do not approve of this. I can not be mated to you.” His words felt like dagger piercing through my heart. I suddenly felt suffocated, and my breath caught up in my throat.
There's no way he meant all he just said now. How can he possibly say he doesn't want me anymore.
“We can't be mated yet you had me in your bed? You know you didn't me, yet you went ahead and took my innocence? What are you even saying?” I questioned him, and he slammed his fist on the table beside him.
“How dare you question my decisions?” He yelled at me, but I didn't flinch.
“I'm your mate, and the woman you are about to toss around thinking I'm not enough.” My eyes stung with tears, and I could see him clenching his fist in anger.
“I will not hear of this. I'm your alpha and you will do as I say. You will either accept the rejection or you will face serious consequences.” Jaxon threatened, and I staggered back.
Of course I have heard of how ruthless he is, and how he shows no mercy to anyone. But he wouldn't do anything to hurt me, would he? I'm his mate.
“But…” I stammered.
“Enough!!” He yelled at me and his eyes darkened. I shook my head as tears trickled down my eyes, this was not the man I gave my body and soul to last night.
This was not the man who made me feel like a woman and brought out all those hidden emotions in me.
“I alpha Jaxon of the Moonborne pack reject you Elena of the Moonborne pack this day.” He mouthed those dreadful words and my eyes widened with shock. I didn't think he was going to reject me right away.
He glared at me ripping my soul out with his eyes.
“I Elena of the Moonborne pack accept the rejection of Alpha Jaxon of the Moonborne pack.” I accepted the rejection and slumped on the floor with my hands on my chest. I felt a sharp pain cutting through me as tears poured out my face.
“Find a way to leave here quietly. If you dare speak of this to anyone to allow yourself get caught. You will be severely punished.” Jaxon vowed and walked out of the room.
“No!!!” I cried out in anguish as my heart shattered and drowned in misery. I curled up on the floor and cried my eyes out.
A while later, I collected myself and made way to the window. I felt a little bit foggy, but I do not have the time to wail and grief. I have to get out of here as soon as possible.
I don't want Jaxon to return and meet me here like this. I've already been humiliated enough, and I can't stand another blow. I won't be able to take it.
I looked down the window which seems farther than the one back home. I shut my eyes and jumped down at once.
“Aahh!” I yelped out in pain but quickly covered my mouth with my palm. I can't have anyone notice me. I felt a sharp pain on my knee, I looked and I was bleeding.
I dragged myself up and walked out of the pack estate, broken, shattered, numb, lonely and bleeding.
I wandered through the pack lost with no sense of direction.
How can I still continue staying in this pack after being brutally rejected like that?
It's best if I disappear…
I clenched my fist in a tight ball, this time anger rising up in me.
I didn't ask to me mated to Jaxon, so why did I have to suffer?
“I'm never going to allow anyone step over me ever again, no matter what it takes.” I gritted the words in between my teeth.
