I couldn't handle what I heard last night. I quickly left before they could see me. I just hope their argument ended well.

Since it's Sunday today, most of the people in the quarters are leaving the pack house to visit their families who live in town.

Sianna and I are both ready to leave for Autumnvale. We then went to the kitchen to get her mother.

"Are you done, mom?" Sianna asked as we entered.

"Yes, dear. But come with me to your aunt Dahlia first to say goodbye. She might also ask us to buy something in town." she said while wiping her hands. Then she turned to me. "Anna, can you deliver these herbs to Doc Lockr?" she requested.

I nodded before speaking. "Sure, Aunt Lily. I'll take care of it."

"Sissy, let's meet at the West gate. Hurry up, okay?" Sianna reminded me.

I gave her a nod before they left. I was on my way to the infirmary when I saw Braden. I didn't know how to act around him after what I heard last night.

I know they didn't see me last night but I can't help feeling guilty.

"Good morning, Guapa!" Braden greeted cheerfully.

"Good morning too, Braden. " I greeted while smiling.

"Are you heading to the infirmary?" he asked, pointing to the herbs I was carrying.

"Ah, yes. Do you want to come along?"

"I cant, Guapa. I'm on double time today. Alpha Primo has given me a lot of tasks because Jayden is not feeling well. So, I have to do his work too." he said while pouting his lips.

I smiled and nodded my head. Then he gave me a tap on my shoulder before saying goodbye.

So, Jayden didn't leave the house. I'm glad. But I felt sorry for him and his mate. What they have is complicated. Which made me think about last night. What Lorkan said about the Alpha's mate still lingers in my head.

Did Primo did something to Liliana?

But it's impossible, I think he loves her too much to cause her pain. I just smiled bitterly. Even werewolves have complicated love stories.

"Good Morning, Doc Locke. " I greeted her as soon as I entered the room. "I brought you the herbs you needed. " I said while showing her the box.

"Oh, Anna! Perfect timing," she said as she took the herbs from me. "My stocks are almost out."

Doc Morgan is in her early thirties. Her mate is also a healer like her. But her mate is not here, he's in the city.

"Thank you, Anna. " she said after checking the herbs.

"You're welcome, Doc Locke." I smiled at her.

I bid my goodbyes to Doc Locke and the moment I stepped outside my eyes widened to see Theo. He was leaning on the wall with his arms crossed. He looked like he was waiting for someone.

"Come with me." he said with a cold voice.

I was even more surprised. What does he need from me? I starting to feel nervous.

"Uh, where are we going, Theo?" I asked, trying to sound normal.

"The Alpha wants to see you," he said.

Crap! I knew it. Did he saw me last night?

Werewolves have sharp senses. I should've left early. I shouldn't have paid attention to what I heard in the hallway last night.

"Wait inside. " he ordered.

This is it. I am going to be punished for eavesdropping.

Theo opened the door for me but when I entered the room, no one was there. But I guess it's better. I still have time to practice my speech because I don't really know what to say to Alpha Primo if ever.

While waiting, I looked around the room. Is this an art room? There are many paintings on the walls and there are also sculptures. But some are unfinished.

There's a painting in the left side of the room. It's near the window. I went closer to it and I was stunned to see how beautiful the painting is but I noticed that it is still wet.

Did he paint it?

It's a gray wolf with familiar blue eyes.

It's amazing to look at. I can see every detail of the painting. The werewolf in the painting looks so alive.

“Luna Bella Gaile Monasterio. ” A familiar voice said from behind. I was too focused on the painting and didn’t notice that Alpha Primo came in.

I wanted to turn around to face him, but my body wouldn’t cooperate. I almost stopped breathing when I felt his presence behind me. I could almost hear his breathing, but I knew his eyes were fixed on the painting.

“She was the former Luna of this pack. ” he whispered. “My mother. She died a year after my father passed away. She couldn’t bear the pain of losing her mate. ” He said with a hint of pain in his voice.

I could feel how sad he was. I didn’t know much about his mother. I only knew about his father. Aunt Dahlia said he died during his encounter with the rogues. “She looks majestic. ” I mumbled softly.

Seconds later, I felt him move closer. I bit my lower lip when I felt his warm breath on my right cheek.

He’s too close!

He bent a little closer so I closed my eyes and held my breath.

“You can breathe now. ” He mumbled gently.

I could feel my face burning. He took something from the chair near the painting.

“Face me, Kianna. ” He coldly ordered me.

I tightly closed my eyes before I faced him. Keeping my head bowed. I could feel my face is still red.

“How much did you hear last night?” He asked while wiping his hands with the towel he took earlier.

His question struck me. He knew I was there. I didn’t even know if I should defend myself. I knew it was wrong. I shouldn’t have listened.

“I’m sorry. I didn’t mean to. I was on my way back to the house when I heard you arguing. ” I confessed. “Raise your head and look me in the eye when you talk. ” He said with a stern voice.

I followed him. And then my eyes found his intense gaze. I didn’t know what courage I had to meet his eyes.

Now he looked satisfied. “Better. Now tell me what you heard.”

“A-About Jayden and his m-mate. I-I couldn’t understand the rest. ” I said nervously.

I stuttered again, and my heart was beating wildly. But it was true. I couldn’t understand the rest.

“Tsk. Tsk. You shouldn’t stick your nose into someone else’s business, Kianna. ” he warned after throwing the towel on the couch.

“I’m sorry. I won’t tell a single word to anyone. I p-promise. ” I told him before lowering my gaze.

“Are you afraid of me? Why do you always stutter?” he asked. I lifted my head to see his reaction and saw how his forehead formed a knot.

“I’m sorry again, Alpha P-primo. ” I said instead.

“Say it again,” he demanded. I eyed him with confusion. “What?”

“My name, Kianna. Without stuttering.” He said firmly.

What? Why would he want me to say his name? And how can I say his name without stuttering? His presence alone makes me feel uncertain feelings. Because this man in front of me is beyond perfect, his presence screams power.

His thick eyebrows, curly eyelashes, and his deep-set blue eyes. His perfect nose, prominent jaw, and his plump lips. Alpha Primo is indeed a work of art.

I accidentally bit my lower lip. Why do his lips look softer than mine? I even licked my lips to check if they were soft.

Mine are soft, but his seem softer. That sounds unfair.

I came back from my senses when I heard Alpha Primo's angry voice.

"Fck! I said say my name. Not lick your lips! D*mn it!" he blurted.

My eyes widened when the realization hit me. What do you think you're doing, Kianna?!

I bowed my head to hide my face. I can't believe I just stared at him, without even blinking! He must have thought that I'm creepy for shamelessly gawking at him.

When I looked up, his expression still hadn't changed.

His face is red. Even his ears are red. And I can see the veins on his neck, and his breathing became ragged. It's like he's about to pounce on me at any moment.

I felt my legs shaking because of fear.

"A-Alpha... Primo?"

His eyes darkened when he heard me speak. And there is something in it. Something dangerous and... foreign.

But I don't want to name it because my heart feels like it's about to explode with nervousness.

"Don't say it that way. " he said with his eyes closed.

I couldn't understand him. "What are you talking about, Alpha Primo?" I asked, even though I was nervous.

He looks like he's losing his patience. "Sh*t! Just stop talking and don't look at me like that!" he spats.

I'm really trembling now, not because of the cold but because of fear. I wanted to talk, but my lips are quivering, so I bit them.

"Stop biting your damn lips, woman!"

His face turned red once more, and his expression is now unbearable.

"Get out! Leave this room!" he screamed again.

I mentally sighed when he said that. I wanted to say goodbye, but there was no voice wanting to come out of my mouth.

I took a step to leave, and Alpha Primo quickly backed away as if I had a contagious disease.

What's wrong with him? I'm scared right now, but there's a part of me that feels worried.

"Are you okay?" I asked with concern, but instead of answering me, he gave me a sharp look.

I wanted to run, but his stares are preventing me from doing it. I feel like I've been magnetized to the floor. But his cold and dangerous demeanor didn't last long. His expression suddenly changed. He looks like he just came to his senses. He must have realized that I am scared because I can see the worry in his eyes.

"Are you okay, did I scare you?!" he asked, panicking. "You look pale. Are you okay, Kianna?" he asked once more.

Pale? I look pale?

I closed my eyes and took a deep breath before speaking to him.

"I'm sorry to bother you, Alpha Primo. I'm okay. I'm just not used to the cold. Are you okay?" I asked again.

He sighed and licked his lips. "So innocent..." He mumbled gently. "I'm good. You can leave now." This time his voice is calm.

I nodded my head and turned around to leave, but my whole body stiffened when I felt something warm on my wrist.

Why is Alpha Primo holding my wrist?!

When our eyes met, I sensed a mix of emotions in his gaze.

His hand feels warm, and my wrist feels small in his hands.

He's gripping it too tight. He then closes his eyes, seeming to try to calm himself.

"Are you still cold?" he asked after opening his eyes.

"Huh?" I stammered.

"I'm asking you if you are still cold," he said.

It dawned on me that he was trying to warm me up because I mentioned being cold earlier. Werewolves can share their warmth with others.

"I feel warm," I replied.

"Good. " He uttered hoarsely. I flinched when I felt his thumb caressing my wrist.

As I observed him, I couldn't help but feel joy. My heart started to beat faster. I really need to leave. If I stay here any longer, I might not want to leave.

"I'm fine, Alpha Primo. I think I'm warm enough."

"You're not. " he said. My eyes widened at his words. What does he mean? And why do I feel like he has no intention of letting go of me? I could feel his grip tightening slowly.

"Alpha Primo? This is Theo. The carriage is ready for your departure."

I felt like a weight was lifted off my chest. I wanted to open the door and thank Theo. I really don't know what would have happened if he hadn't come.

Alpha Primo let go of my wrist before clearing his throat.

"Go." he said.

I wasn't able to say goodbye. I quickly left the room. Theo is looking at me seriously.

After what happened, I slowly began to realize what I truly feel for Alpha Primo.

And I know that what I feel for him is..... forbidden.
