Chapter 7 Divorce After Just One Day?

Olivia rubbed her eyes vigorously, confirming she wasn't dreaming—there really was a naked man lying beside her.

She lifted the covers for a peek and fell into complete despair. She wasn't wearing anything, and the air was filled with an intimate scent.

'Damn it, what did I do last night? Did I cheat on my wedding day?'

Olivia frantically ran her fingers through her hair. She wanted to wake the man beside her and ask what had happened.

But just as her hand hovered over his face, she suddenly stopped.

No, she couldn't do that. Revealing her identity would cause trouble for both her and her brother.

Olivia bit her tongue, forcing herself to calm down.

She needed to get back home immediately and come up with an excuse. Nobody could know about this.

Olivia turned to grab her clothes, but when she found them, she was completely dumbfounded—they were all torn to shreds.

Was this guy really that aggressive?

She then noticed the man's clothes on the floor and immediately got an idea.

"Since you tore my clothes, I'll just borrow yours. Hope you don't mind. And if you wake up without clothes, well, that's not my problem."

Olivia quickly put on his shirt. Since the buttons had been ripped off, she couldn't fasten it, so she tied the bottom ends together, creating an unexpectedly fashionable look.

"This will have to do. I need to get out of here."

Olivia muttered to herself as she slipped out of the room.

A few seconds later, she returned to the bedside, took out her phone, and snapped a photo of Matthew's face.

"He's actually pretty handsome. Shouldn't be too hard to find out who he is."

With that, Olivia finally left the hotel.

About ten minutes later, Matthew finally woke up. He rubbed his eyes and instinctively reached beside him, only to feel empty space.

Matthew opened his eyes, looked around the room, and checked the bathroom, confirming he was alone.

He examined his arms—no red rash. This wasn't normal.

"Was I dreaming?"

Suddenly, Matthew's foot touched something soft on the floor. He picked it up, a smile spreading across his face—it was a soft bra, torn to pieces.

"So last night was real. But taking my clothes, wasn't that a bit impolite?"

Matthew chuckled, found his phone, and called John.

"So, John, how's the investigation going from yesterday?"

On the other end, John's voice was filled with exhaustion.

"Mr. Howard, I'm extremely busy right now. Have you forgotten my last vacation was last year? About that woman, I've already asked our contacts in the country to look into it. Just give me some time, okay?"

The corner of Matthew's mouth twitched as he suddenly remembered that his decision to return home had been made on short notice, leaving many overseas matters for John to handle.

"I'm sorry, John. After this job is done, I'll approve some vacation time for you."

Matthew shrugged. "But before that, I need you to do me one last favor."

"Oh my God, I'm about to lose my mind with all this work! What else do you need?"

John complained over the phone, but his professional habits still made him curious about Matthew's request.

Matthew's tone turned serious.

"The woman I met last night... we had sex..."

Before Matthew could finish, John screamed through the phone.

"My God, you had sex! Mr. Howard, are you okay? Are you in the hospital right now? Wait, are you in emergency care? I'll catch the next flight back..."

Matthew held the phone away from his ear; John's voice was so loud it startled him.

"Would you shut up? Does my voice sound like I'm having a severe allergic reaction?"

John finally noticed that Matthew's voice was normal and asked confusedly.

"So, Mr. Howard, you had sex with that woman, and your body didn't have any adverse reactions?"

"That's right. I find it strange too. I can't determine if it's because this woman doesn't trigger my allergies or if my condition has suddenly improved. I'll test it with another woman later, but if my condition hasn't improved, you must find that woman for me."

"Wow, Mr. Howard, you're finally a real man! I'm truly happy for you. Don't worry, I'll personally oversee this matter and find that woman. Even if she has a boyfriend, I'll find a way to break them up!"

John's tone was extremely determined, which made the corner of Matthew's mouth twitch again.

"Calm down. It's not that complicated. I haven't even told you what I need you to do yet."

"What do you need?"

"Find me a lawyer. I want a divorce."

Matthew's tone was firm.

John went silent for two seconds before exclaiming again.

"Mr. Howard, are you joking? You just got married yesterday, and although you never met the bride... well, I guess now that you've found a woman who doesn't trigger your allergies, the bride doesn't matter anymore."

Matthew nodded, then suddenly thought of something. After pondering for a couple of seconds, he said.

"I remember that woman married me on the condition that Evergreen Hospital would treat her brother, right? Let's include her brother's treatment in the divorce settlement. After all, I cheated on our wedding night, so it's compensation for her."

"Alright, Mr. Howard, you're a kind man. I'll arrange it. Is there anything else?"

John asked over the phone.

Matthew thought for a moment and shook his head.

"Nothing else. Go back to work."

"Alright. Hope you find your true love soon."

John hung up, and Matthew called Wesley.

A moment later, there was a knock on the door. Wesley entered with a set of clothes in hand.

When he saw the scattered clothing on the floor, his eyes widened.

And he let out a high-pitched scream.

"My God, what am I seeing? Whose lingerie is this? Wow, is your condition cured?"

Wesley stared at Matthew in shock.

Matthew put on the clothes Wesley had brought and shook his head.

"I can't be sure yet. I need to find a woman to test it."

As he spoke, Matthew called over a waitress passing by.

"Miss, would you mind grabbing my wrist?"

The waitress hesitated, then looked at Matthew's handsome face. Blushing, she placed her hand on his wrist.
