Chapter 4
Despite being over a hundred years old, Hayden was still in good health and remained the head of the Thomas family. Even though the family members were known for their scheming ways, none of them dared to oppose him and obediently followed his lead.
Seeing everyone behaving, Hayden softened his stern expression and said to Chase, "Take her back and get her settled in."
"Sure thing, Great-Grandfather," Chase replied respectfully. He then led Olivia out of the hospital room and took Christopher back to the Thomas Mansion.
The cold wind on the way back left Christopher shivering. As he got out of the car, he stumbled and fell flat in front of Olivia.
"Didn't you say that sticking with you would keep me out of trouble?" he asked, frustrated.
Olivia moved her foot slightly, and Christopher's eyes widened. Just half an inch from his head was a stone. If he had hit it, he would have been seriously injured. He felt a wave of fear wash over him.
Chase helped Christopher up and placed him in the courtyard next to Olivia's. The two courtyards were separated by a wall with an archway, allowing them to connect.
Olivia had lived in this courtyard before, and the room's furnishings remained unchanged, meticulously clean and spotless.
After a quick wash, she emerged wearing a simple white dress, her long hair cascading down her back like a waterfall.
She looked out the window and saw a woman standing in the courtyard. Her hair was gray, but she was still robust, appearing to be just over a hundred years old, standing motionless in the cold wind.
Her gaze was as sharp as an eagle's, fixed on Olivia with a chilling intensity.
Chase ran in and supported Scarlett Lewis, saying, "Great-Grandmother, it's cold outside. Let's go back to the room."
Scarlett's gaze was venomous as she questioned him, "Has your Great-Grandfather's beloved woman returned? Otherwise, why would he let someone else live here?"
Chase hurriedly shook his head, thinking that this misunderstanding was huge.
Chase explained, "She's not Great-Grandfather's beloved. You've misunderstood."
Scarlett gritted her teeth and retorted, "What have I misunderstood? This room was only ever occupied by one person. Now, after eighty years, she's back!"
Under the room's light, she could clearly see that Olivia was still as beautiful as she was eighty years ago, while Scarlett had aged significantly.
No matter how well she maintained herself, she couldn't compare to Olivia's beauty.
Chase knew Scarlett's ruthlessness. Over the years, she had held significant power in the Thomas family, not just because she was Hayden's wife.
She came from a prestigious family in the Metaphysics Sect and was a renowned genius of her generation.
Scarlett's sharp gaze fell on Olivia, and she sneered coldly, "If I had known he would bring this woman back, I should have killed him when he became a vegetable three years ago! To prevent him from attracting women."
Chase feared these words would reach Olivia's ears and upset her.
But what he feared came true. Olivia suddenly pushed open the door and lazily leaned against it, staring directly at Scarlett from a short distance.
Scarlett, despite being around a hundred years old, looked no older than fifty, with no visible wrinkles. Her eyes, however, were filled with malice.
Olivia's eyes darkened.
Scarlett was surrounded by a dark aura, with countless skeletal hands trying to drag her to hell.
Olivia had slept in a coffin for centuries and hadn't seen such intense resentment in a long time.
Scarlett cursed, "You... slut!"
Before she could finish her sentence, Olivia's eyes turned red, the blood-red hue in the darkness exuding an overwhelming sense of power, forcing Scarlett to swallow her words.
She coughed up blood.
Scarlett felt exposed under Olivia's gaze, as if all her secrets were laid bare.
She stumbled back, letting Chase support her as she left, her legs trembling.
This deep-seated fear left Scarlett defenseless.
Olivia waved her hand, closing the door. A blood-red rune flashed on the door, blocking some of the dark spirits.
After Scarlett was taken back to her room and the fear dissipated, her anger grew.
Scarlett thought, 'Alright, Hayden, you've lived over a hundred years, and you still dare to bring your beloved back home.'
Chase stood by, not daring to breathe, unsure how to comfort her.
Scarlett suddenly asked, "What did Hayden and her do today?"
Chase hesitated, then said, "Great-Grandmother, you should ask Great-Grandfather yourself. I don't know much."
Scarlett sneered, "You're loyal to Hayden."
Chase pressed his lips together, enduring her insults.
The next day, Hayden returned to the Thomas Mansion. The first thing he did was have Scarlett sent away.
Scarlett caused a scene in the courtyard, but Hayden was resolute. Despite her tantrum, she was forced into a car and sent away from the mansion.
Joshua was displeased, "Grandfather, she's still our grandmother. How can you disregard her for an outsider?"
Joshua's parents had died young, and he was raised by Scarlett. Naturally, he spoke up for her.
Hayden's gaze was cold, and he said, "The master is not an outsider. Without her, the Thomas family wouldn't have today's achievements."
Hayden didn't know much about Olivia, only that when he first met her, his grandfather and father knelt before her, calling her master.
Every fifty years, Olivia would visit the Thomas Mansion and give the head of the family a drop of blood.
Hayden was shocked by her ageless beauty, unchanged over a century.
Now, another hundred years had passed, and she still looked as young and exquisite as ever.
Olivia didn't have the habit of sleeping in. She saw Scarlett being dragged away and returned to find Hayden holding a cup of blood, respectfully offering it to her.
She glanced at it, her eyes cold and indifferent.
The scent of blood reached her nose, and she frowned slightly, "Whose blood is this?"
Hayden answered, "It's Chase's."
Olivia said, "It's not good. I won't drink it."
Olivia was very particular about blood.
Hayden immediately said, "I'll gather all the descendants, and you can choose slowly?"
Olivia said, "No need. Prepare some blood-enriching food for Christopher and make sure he eats it."
Hayden was stunned but quickly instructed the kitchen.
Christopher was miserable. He disliked eating organs, blood-based foods, and any seafood.
Looking at the table full of food, he grimaced.
Christopher asked, "Mr. Thomas, do we really have to do this?"
Hayden stared at him and nodded, "My master said to watch you eat it all."
Christopher was speechless.
