Chapter 4

Kathy heard the elevator door open, so she left the room to see a man with a white coat on and a medical bag with him therefore she went over to him.

“Hello, you must be the doctor?”

“Yes, I am Dr. Jones. I am here to see Mr. Thompson,”

“Yes, I put him in this room, I cleaned the blood off his head. While I was driving down the street, I saw him on the side of the road. He didn’t want me to take him to the hospital, so he told me to bring him here. Please, can you check him out?”

“I will,”

Kathy show’s Dr. Jones where his patient is sleeping as they enter the room, Mr. Thompson is still breathing, but he is not moving so much. Then the doctor walked over to him and checked if his wound was healed. He took out his light to check Mr. Thompson's eyes to see if there was any blood in the back of his eyes then used his finger to check his head and neck for any injuries, to see that everything had healed already.

“How is he doctor?” asked Kathy

“Mr. Thompson, is lucky that you found him. If not he would be in serious danger however he doesn't have any concussion but he is going to have a nasty headache in the morning. For the time being keep an eye on him. Let me go and wash my hands.”

“Thank you, doctor,”

Dr. Jones went into the bathroom to wash his hands and came back out drying them with a towel before throwing it into the basket. Dr. Jones Kathy hands the doctor her cellphone so can he put his number into her phone then hands her phone back to her. As he is grabbing his medicine bag and opening it to take a painkillers bottle and hand it to Kathy before closing the bag back.

“Let me put give you my number so you can call me if anything changes,”

“Just give him these painkillers for the headache he’s going to have in the morning. You have a good night, miss,”

Kathy looked at Dr. Jones who was heading to the elevator, and came to think about it she can’t stay with him because the plan was that someone comes to stay with Mr. Thompson, not her. She even told the young gentlemen that she was coming back downstairs to get her own room. Also her suitcase is still in the car with her mother's ashes. Or Kathy was thinking to herself that she can quickly go down there just grab her things and just come back at the same time she is afraid something will happen to him if she left him alone. Like he can have a brain bleed, or wake up then hit his head on something to make it worse. Thinking she used Mr. Thompson cellphone, lucky his phone can do facetime so she called his phone and answered the call and got something to hold up the phone while she could leave the apartment and still keep an eye on him. Once she did that Kathy headed toward pushing the elevator door open. She stepped in and still kept her eye on the phone to see his chest was moving up and down. And then she got another call not wanting to answer it so just pushed the red button and called the person back when she gets back into the room as right now she needed to keep her eye on Mr. Thompson. As she made it to the first, floor door the young man was still behind the desk typing away on the computer.

Kathy walked outside toward her car where she took out her keys and unlocked the door to see her mother was sitting where she left her, popped open the truck to get her suitcase out and close it. As she walked away to the passenger door, opened the door to take her mother out and carried her in arms, used her foot to close the door then push the button to set the alarm once again she checked her cell phone to see that Mr. Thompson didn’t move out of the bed. She walked across the parking lot, going back into the hotel. Kathy, thinking to herself of what she is going to do with her life, knows that she has to get married to get everything that belongs to her from her mother. Just remembered that she went into the box with her mother's things inside, Kathy found her mother's journaling book, about her life. Come to think about it, Kathy is going to sit down and read all the papers. She almost bumped into the couple.

“I am sorry, I should be watching where I was going,”

“That is already? you must have something on your mind,”

“Not really, um … I have to go my husband is waiting for me upstairs,”

“You have a great day,”

“You too,”

Kathy walked past the couple and headed toward the elevator and used the keycard to go upstairs, she sighed to herself and leaned on the wall while riding to the penthouse. The elevator opening, Kathy walked out with her suitcase behind her, as she left her things in the living room and put her mother on the table before going back into the room and hung up the phone. She put her hand on his forehead to check if he had a fever which he doesn't, which is a good thing. Now there is only a bathroom but she needed to take a shower and probably cook something to eat.

Just keep thinking of why someone would attack Mr. Thompson and leave him to die, like does he own money, or drugs, or did he sleep with someone's wife or girlfriend? Also, he is blind well blind means nothing to anyone who attacked him. Kathy feels like she has to help him, in return he can help her in the process.
