Chapter 20: Back to Cherview
She had been right, Janice mulled whilst glaring at no one in particular.
As soon as it was dawn, Jules had dragged her out of the cottage. Just like the first time, he had compelled her out of her house. However, he didn't let her pick anything this time around.
A groan escaped her opened lips as she gazed out of the window that wound down. She rubbed her clammy palms on the flowering gown she donned as well as dabbed her forehead with the hanky she had collected from Jules.
Her lips were sticky, and her throat was parched.
Janice realised she hadn't taken any fluid since last night. Moreover, she believed if she decided to take anything now, it could make her situation worse.
'Do you want Jackson to stop by so you could take a walk?" asked Jules.
Janice glanced at him, she rolled her eyes at the concerned look on his face. If she didn't know him, she would have thought he cared about her wellbeing.
Also, her eyes darted around the location they were in, before staring at him again.
She shook her head as the thought of someone attacking them whilst strolling on the lonesome road infiltrated her mind. She glared at the tall trees as they swayed in the wind and her nostrils flared when the scent of Prairie rose drifted into it.
Jules chuckled as he glimpsed the uncertainty in her face. 'You should know I'm very skilled in combat."
Janice creased her brows as well as blushed when she realised she had said her thoughts aloud. Moreso, she imagined Jules wearing armour, and clutching a sharp sword in his hands.
She giggled whilst shoving the ridiculous thoughts away. She didn't doubt him being skilled in combat because she had heard he was once in the military before he left for an unknown reason.
Also, Jules had the agility of a fighter as well as durability. He could be sweet as well as mean if he wanted- All these Janice had noticed with being with him only for a few weeks.
'What's funny, Madame?" Asked Jules with raised brows. He stroked his shaved chin as he scrutinized her.
He noticed she didn't look as sick as she was earlier and he was fascinated by the way her white hair turned silvery as the morning light struck it. Also, by the way her cherry coloured lips curved into a smile. He found it titillating since he couldn't stop thinking about what he would do to her as soon as they got to Cherview.
'I was trying to picture you in armour. It's kind of absurd." Said Janice, giggling.
She wrinkled her nose and thrust her head further out of the window to let the cool air caressed her face.
'You'll hurt yourself if you keep doing that." Asserted Jules before tugging her to him.
'I'm fine," Janice said, attempting to wriggle out of his grasp. 'I need to feel the wind on my face or I'll barf all over your car."
'You can barf if you want to." Said Jules, twirling a lock in his hand. 'My manservant would do the cleanup."
Janice let out a sigh as well as stopped struggling against him. She knew he wouldn't bulge and she would only tire herself out if she continued.
She stifled a yawn, and blinked her eyes as it grew heavy.
Janice snapped her eyes open as she felt herself being hoisted in the air. She stared at the red plaid shirt that was scrunched in her hands before gazing at him.
Her cheeks reddened when she noticed he had been watching her. Also, she glimpsed a part of her shirt that had shifted exposing her smooth swollen breast.
'S-stop. I-I need to adjust myself." She gasped, nudging his hard chest.
"Stay still." Murmured Jules as his hand tightened so as not to drop her. "You might harm yourself if you keep doing that."
Briefly, Janice relaxed then furrowed her brow as she peered at herself once more.
'Don't worry. No one saw it." Said Jules whilst kicking the door open. He settled her on the bed and sat at the edge whilst tugging off the brown loafers he donned.
Janice watched as he yanked off his shirt soon after. Her nipples tightened as she ogled his perfect body.
"W-what are you doing?"
"What does it look like?" Inquired Jules with a question of his own. He chuckled as he noticed the neverending blush on her face.
"I have no strength to do whatever is going on in your head." Said Jules as he laid on the bed. He grabbed a pillow and he rested his head on it.
"I wasn't thinking of anything." Janice said.
"A warning to you Madame, don't pull the stunt of last time. I, not punishing you didn't mean I'm stupid. I don't want to look inhumane. So, it's better you be on your best behaviour and don't try to run away with any little opportunity that comes your way."
Janice opened her mouth to retort, but no word came out. She doubted if he had forgotten whacking her butt with the monstrous-looking belt of his too quickly.
She sighed and stared at Jules as he slept. A soft snore escaped his parted lips and her hand itched to caress the soft mat of hair adorning his chest.
Tightening her hands into fists so as not to give into the temptation of touching him, she thought of what the future held for her.
Because she believed she didn't have a choice anymore. She only needed to adapt to her incoming new life and many more challenges that would accompany it as well.
