Chapter 12 Resistant Blood Corpse

As he spoke Anne opened her bow and shot!

‘Shoo!'

The arrow shot out, penetrating the head of a Blood Corpse in an unbiased manner.

The action was smooth and flowing in a single breath!

Just two words - handsome!

‘Not bad, keep it up.' Henry gave a thumbs up.

Although the bow was not powerful enough, it had a huge advantage over firearms, that is, the noise was negligible, so there was no need to worry about attracting other blood corpses.

Guns were a different story, miles apart, Henry could hear the gunfire coming from the other side of the neighbourhood, and the blood corpses would only increase the more they fought.

‘I wonder how many will be left in the neighbourhood after this blood rain. Forget it, what does that have to do with me.'

Henry drew his black blade, Chopping Gold, and rushed towards a small group of blood corpses not far away.

A little earlier, in the neighbourhoods that were only a few miles apart.

Marcus sat in a daze in his living room.

The blood on the floor had been cleaned up, and in the bedroom lay a large and small body covered with a sheet.

‘It's my fault for being useless and not being able to protect you guys, you guys walk slower, I'll be right down to find you.'

Marcus grabbed the pistol on the table and pressed it against his temple, but just as he was about to pull the trigger to go down to the spring to join his wife and son, there was a gasp from the neighbourhood.

Marcus came to the window and looked down and was shocked.

Several bright red blood hearts appeared at some point, and blood corpses covered in a fishy stench with mucus struggled to crawl out, and some of them found their target and chased after them with a strange wail, and several residents who were exchanging cards in the empty lot were torn apart on the spot.

‘Dad! I'm scared!'

A three or four year old boy stood in the garden bawling, not far away was a Blood Corpse running towards him, and his father, who had been bitten by the Blood Corpse, had his neck broken.

‘Watch out boy, watch out!'

Marcus was a cowardly man, timid by nature, and the only way to relieve himself was to climb mountains.

And at this moment he didn't know where to get the courage, his brain was so hot that he jumped from the third floor, and his body smashed heavily in the green belt.

He did not care about the cut arm, holding the little boy rushed into the building.

The blood corpse pounced, not angry, turned to chase over, even pouncing and crawling a bite on the little boy's leg, the pain of the little boy fainted on the spot.

‘I'll fucking fight you!'

Marcus yelled, pulling the trigger, the bullet blowing the blood corpse's head apart.

The sound of the gunshot startled the other blood corpses, and these monsters with unusually sensitive hearing and sense of smell twisted their heads in unison.

......

Inside the caravan at the crossroads in the evening.

‘Come down and take a break, there shouldn't be any more blood corpses around.'

Henry greeted Annie as she came down from the roof of the car.

In just two hours, he found that Anne has a very strong combat talent and learning ability, from the beginning of the war to the later continuous headshots of the blood corpses, the rapid improvement of skills made him sigh, no wonder Anne, a small actress in her previous life, was able to kill a bloody road to find him shivering in the house.

‘I killed 61 blood corpses!'

Annie jumped into the caravan with a happy face and took credit from Henry.

‘Awesome, change your clothes and take a shower for dinner.' Henry smiled and said.

After a long period of mental strain, Annie's jacket had long been soaked in sweat, and her underwear was clearly visible, all her hands and feet were covered in spring light, making Henry, a young man in his early twenties, almost unable to hold on.

After rinsing off, Anne changed into a clean white shirt and came out in little hot trousers, her body smelling like a mixture of shower gel and female hormones.

‘Are we getting out of here tonight?' Anne enquired as she blew out her hair, having long since made the caravan her home.

Henry nodded, ‘Kill it all the way there while it's dark.'

It had just rained blood, there must be a large number of blood hearts and blood corpses in all parts of the city now, it was a great time to hoard resources, and it would be even better if he could slaughter a few night devils along the way.

As for the Blackhearts, Henry currently had no intention of raiding them, the mature Blackhearts simply couldn't be gnawed down without a team of experienced combatants.

‘Henry... In?'

Marcus's voice came from outside the door and Henry froze, not expecting the man to have survived with a dying boy in his arms.

He opened the car door and let Marcus in, ‘The boy is?'

‘His mum was out of town on business before the end of the world and couldn't be reached. His dad ...... was bitten by a monster not long ago.' Marcus was filled with heartache, ‘He was bitten by a blood corpse, do you have a way to save him?'

Henry frowned slightly.

At this moment, Marcus's essence was much better than a few hours ago, obviously finding a new spiritual pillar from this little boy.

Though but, something like ‘Silver Card Serum' was quite precious, and he only had a dozen of them.

‘I have cards, I can trade with you.'

Marcus haphazardly pulled out a bunch of blue and green cards from his pocket, ‘If it's not enough, I'll get you more, give me some time.'

‘Save the people first.'

Henry thought about it, put Marcus's card away, and fished out a silver card serum from his body, which was a special injection specially designed to treat those who had been bitten by blood corpses.

After helping the little boy inject the serum, Henry wondered, ‘How did you guys hold off the blood corpses? How many other people are there in the neighbourhood?'

With Henry's knowledge of the residents of the neighbourhood, it was only probable that the group would have perished in the rain of blood.

Marcus sighed, ‘I suggested that we all join together to defend the building, otherwise death would be a matter of time, and it's a good thing they were willing to listen to me. But unfortunately, we were too weak, we sacrificed a large portion of us before barely clearing out the blood corpses, those who survived were probably only thirty or forty, I didn't count them exactly.'

‘All young and daring?'

Henry's words caused Marcus to be stunned at first, then he realised something and his expression became excited, ‘Yes, yes! The ones who fought side by side with me are all young people, they are very brave! A few of them have even enhanced their talents! Are you trying to ......'

Henry laughed, ‘Don't get so excited yet, I'm just casually asking.'

Marcus was instantly a little disappointed.

‘It's not safe at night, I'll take you back. Annie, make Leo a cappuccino.'

‘Okay.' Annie busied herself with rummaging through the food cards.

At that moment Henry started the caravan to take Marcus and the little boy back to the neighbourhood.

The neighbourhood they were in was semi-open and the guardrail was virtually non-existent, but the big iron gate had been open when he'd come over during the day, but now it was closed, and not only that, but several thick chains had been put on it, and there was a man on duty in the security booth.

‘I'm going to go in with Leo first, you keep an eye on the house.'

Henry let out a word of knowledge and followed Marcus out of the car and headed inside, the young men in the security booth all showed excitement when they saw Marcus return with Henry.

They didn't know exactly how strong Henry was, but they all watched when Henry killed the three hooligans in seconds in the afternoon, his fighting ability was awesome.

‘Big brother, are you here to help us?'

The young man who spoke Henry knew, the first young couple who exchanged cards with him in the afternoon, his girlfriend trembling and shivering followed him around, both of them were covered in dirt and blood, the smell was quite unpleasant.

It wasn't their fault, with resource cards being so scarce, but any water card would be saved for drinking, not many people would be extravagant enough to use it for bathing.

‘I'll come over and take a look.'

Henry swept his gaze, there were traces of the aftermath of the battle everywhere.

Bloodstains, limbs and corpses were simply too late to clean up, they were just scattered haphazardly around, some survivors who lost their loved ones in the battle mourned silently, and many more were like walking corpses, lost in thought.

‘That's all that's left of you people.'

Henry sighed, Marcus hadn't lied, more than half of them were dead.

‘I'm leaving later, what's next for you guys?' Henry asked casually.

‘Mr Henry, where are you going? Will you, will you take us with you?' As soon as Marcus said this, Henry's face was expressionless, but in his heart, he smiled slightly.

Marcus hurriedly said, ‘Those of us who stay here will be killed by monsters sooner or later, only by following you can we find a way out.'

‘Mr Henry, take us with you! Please! We don't want to die.'

The young couple cried and knelt down.

When someone started this, someone else followed, and soon there were ten people kneeling around Henry.

‘All get up and talk.'

When the people stood up, Henry waved his hand, ‘It's not impossible for you guys to find a way out of this if you want to come with me, but you have to make a deal, and I like to say the ugly words up front.'

The night was already deep, the city shrouded in darkness from time to time came from the hissing of monsters, if at this time from the mid-air to look down will find that the whole city is plunged into darkness and dead silence, only sporadic lights flickering.

At the end of the messy road, there was a caravan travelling at a slow speed towards the front, and what was unbearable was that behind the caravan there was also a convoy of bicycles, with more than thirty people in total.

They followed the caravan silently and wordlessly in the darkness, occasionally encountering blood corpses that had been shot, they would get off and cut open their bodies to retrieve the card from inside, and the car in front would often stop and wait silently at that point.
