Chapter 11 Internal Conflict
Space Ring!
An absolute strategic piece of equipment, in the previous life a Space Ring could be exchanged for almost two sets (twenty) of Golden Talents, one of the few coloured cards that had a premium that exceeded twice its original value.
‘Do you want to talk in my car?'
Henry had expected Marcus to say no, how could he have known the man would just hmmm and get into his Ghostfire.
‘I've got the cards hidden, no use killing me if you do.' Marcus spoke as ghostly as a ghost.
Henry froze and laughed it off.
Inside the caravan.
Henry had Annie pour Marcus a cup of coffee and fix him a beef curry with rice.
Marcus didn't refuse, and buried his head in his mouth and gobbled it down.
Henry was in no hurry at all, and didn't speak until Marcus had finished his meal, ‘Now we can talk about the deal, right, what are you going to trade?'
Marcus wiped his eyes, ‘I don't want the card, just help me kill three people.'
Henry was stunned and realised something was wrong, ‘What's going on?'
‘My wife is dead, and my son, too.' Marcus' eyes froze.
Anne looked surprised, ‘Dead? It was fine last night, how did ...... it happen?'
‘The people who killed my wife and son were Adrian, Wolfe and Grant, they took turns insulting my wife and strangling my son ......'
‘......'
‘......'
Marcus suddenly became agitated, slamming his fist on the dining room table like a madman and roaring, ‘I want them dead! As long as they die, the coloured cards are yours! Kill, help me kill them! I know you've got it in you!'
Henry stared at this man whose nerves had become a little unhinged due to his excessive grief for a long time, and calmly said, ‘I'll attach another condition to you, you can choose how they die, and if the condition permits, I'll let you take revenge yourself.'
Henry glanced at the time on his wristwatch, grabbed the black blade Chopper Gold and got up, ‘Follow me.'
‘Be careful...' Annie said softly.
‘Hmm.'
Five minutes later.
Henry brought Marcus back to the neighbourhood, and he was just about to ask Marcus to point out where those three people lived, when Marcus suddenly tugged on his arm and shuddered, ‘Them, that's them ......!'
Henry looked over and was greeted by three young men, they had a hand in the siege of the caravan last night, they just didn't do anything about it.
Adrian's face was full of teasing, ‘Yo, Marcus, back.'
‘You're the ones who killed my wife and son! Don't deny it! Someone saw it!' Marcus yelled, his eyes streaked with blood.
Adrian laughed, ‘Who says I won't admit it? That's right, I killed the person, what can you do to me?'
Marcus didn't expect the other party to admit it so graciously, his brain couldn't turn a corner for a moment.
Wolfe smiled and said, ‘One thing is for sure, your wife is really nice and extra moist. You have no idea how cooperative she is when we're playing with her, it's called a pin-up.'
‘I'll fucking fight you guys!'
Marcus wailed, going crazy and tried to lunge forward, but was grabbed by Henry.
‘Sleeping is sleeping, but you also want to kill people, even children are not spared.'
Henry's face was expressionless, not much emotion showing when he said this.
‘Hey.' Adrian spread his hands, ‘Actually, we didn't want to kill anyone at first, it was purely an accident. The little brat was crying when we were doing the big job and it bothered me, so I had Joseph gag him, but who knows, the kid was inexperienced and muffled the little brat to death. Then the bitch went crazy, I couldn't kill her without killing her, look how she tickled me.'
Adrian was emboldened and deliberately provoked Marcus, revealing several bloody scratches on his neck.
‘Hey, I can't be blamed for all of this, how did I know that little brat was so fragile, I didn't even use my strength.' Grant aggrieved on.
‘You guys, you guys... Bastards!!!'
Marcus' body trembled and tears flowed down his face.
The tragic death of his wife and son was described so lightly by them, no one else could endure it! If it wasn't for Henry's firm grip on him, he would have gone to fight for his life in the morning.
‘You brought him here for revenge, didn't you?'
Adrian's eyes were full of provocation, staring straight at Henry, ‘Kid, that pretty girl in your caravan is quite good, our brothers booked it, and when we get you killed, we'll serve her well, and make sure she's dying of lust!'
‘Hahahahahaha!'
‘My big penis can't wait!'
Wolfe and Grant laughed out loud, both deliberately revealing the pistols in their belts.
They were lucky to have picked up three silver pistol cards on their way back to the neighbourhood.
This was the main reason why they were emboldened!
So when they found out that Marcus had brought Henry back to seek revenge, they took the initiative to step out to meet the enemy.
Three people, three guns, what was there to fear?
‘The three of you...'
Henry revealed a cold smile, ‘Gryphons.'
‘Pretend you're a fucking X. Die for me!'
Adrian decisively pulled out his gun, however, without waiting for him to pull the trigger, Henry, who had been prepared, broke his arm with a shot.
Drawing a gun with me?
You're dead!
‘Ah! My hand!'
Adrian screamed miserably and fell down, Wolfe and Grant saw this and hurriedly shot at Henry.
To their horror, the bullets hit Henry's body like a stone cow sinking into the sea, disappearing without a trace, unable to hurt him at all.
Henry did not give the two more time to think and attack, and fired back.
‘Bang!'
‘Bang!'
After two shots, Wolfe and Grant both had their arms broken.
Which survivor who could survive for five years in the post-apocalyptic world was not a sharpshooter, and which one did not have some special skills? Henry did not even use the locking function of the [sharpshooter], so close to the distance, there is no need for that.
‘Why ...... I clearly hit him ah! Why is he okay!'
‘It hurts, it hurts!'
The three one-armed men lay in a pool of blood and howled miserably in a row, causing the residents of the neighbourhood to look downwards.
There was no impermeable wall in the neighbourhood, they all already knew what happened to Marcus' wife and son, so naturally no one sympathised with the three brutes.
Henry tapped Marcus on the shoulder and handed him a green knife card, ‘You can avenge your wife and son with your own hands. I've completed your request, where's my stuff?'
‘Behind the downspout on the ground floor.'
Marcus finished as he took a step towards the trio who kept crawling backwards with his woodchipper, Adrian tried to pick up the gun and got half of his hand cut off by a slash.
‘Marcus ......! Marcus we were wrong!'
‘Please let us go! We ...... would like to work for you as oxen, I'll give you whatever you want, the cards ...... we have a lot of them, and we'll give them all back to you!'
‘Don't kill me! Please! It was Wolfe's idea!'
‘......'
The three people who had been incredibly arrogant not long ago were all pissing their trousers at this point, opening their mouths to beg for forgiveness and testify against their good brothers.
Henry looked at the scene and then retracted his gaze, what he had to do had already been done, the right to decide between life and death was in Marcus's hands, no matter what happened next it had nothing to do with him, he now only wanted to quickly get that space ring.
Marcus hadn't lied to him, the coloured card was indeed hidden behind the downpipe at the end of the ground floor corridor, covered in dust and some industrial waste.
Henry ripped the card open and slipped the ring onto his finger, and a four-square space did appear inside, ten cubic metres, which didn't seem like much, but could hold very much, such as his Ghostfire motorbike, or hundreds of normal-sized corpses. (A 120kg adult standing is about 0.06 cubic metres)
‘Having this will put cultivating Bloodheart on the schedule...'
The moment he learnt of the existence of the Space Rings, Henry had already figured out what to do with it. --Packing corpses!
Of course this premise had to wait until Fiona was found and a safe place was found for a long-term settlement.
Walking out of the flat building, Henry swept over with a glance.
The three men, led by Adrian, had been disembowelled and died beyond repair, while Marcus, covered in blood, sat on his knees in a pool of blood and cried and laughed.
Any consolation seemed bleak at the moment, and Henry said nothing, just brushed past him.
As for the three pistols, he wanted to take them all away, but then thought better of it and left one for Marcus.
Otherwise this coloured card was really uncomfortable for him to hold in his heart.
A few hours later.
‘It's raining again, no, it's blood rain!'
Annie's exclamation woke up Henry who was lying in the driver's seat with his eyes closed.
Henry looked outside through the car window, countless blood hearts of different sizes rained down, the number was only a little more compared to the first blood heart, and he even saw some ‘black hearts' crossing the dome of the sky and falling into the distance.
Those blood hearts immediately began to multiply as soon as they landed, and a large number of blood corpses rushed out from them in search of prey.
The location where the caravan was parked was at the southern end of the intersection, not only was the traffic convenient, the view was also relatively open, the most important thing was that there were no high-rise buildings in the vicinity, so wherever the Blood Hearts landed could be seen at a glance.
‘Go, try your archery skills.'
Henry pulled Anne to the roof of the car and smoked while saying, ‘What, so scared?'
‘Not afraid.'
‘Not afraid then what are you shaking?'
‘Whew...'
Annie snapped, ‘I'm just too excited, before I could only watch you go kill monsters, now I can finally fight side by side with you, watch me perform!'
