Chapter 5 Night Demon

Soon the spoils of this skirmish were out, nine white cards, four green cards, and two blue cards.

Three silver cards from the Night Demon.

‘More or less shabby...'

Henry was very dissatisfied, but it was only seven o'clock, and the night was still long.

‘Look for the corpses too, there might be cards.'

Henry silently lit a cigarette and smoked it, and Anne oh-so-quietly began rummaging through the pile of corpses.

Maybe it is too many corpses in one day, Annie's lower limit of nausea was refreshed, in addition to the beginning of a bit of revulsion, and then even slowly get used to the smell, pouting buttocks seriously rummage the appearance of Henry, this is the age of the dragon and tiger young man a bit on fire.

‘Wow, there really are left behind, a bag of cards, dozens of them.'

Annie shouted excitedly, holding up a bag of cards.

‘Duck!'

Henry yelled, and Annie subconsciously dodged to one side.

The next second!

A bullet that landed right where Annie was standing before, knocking out a deep crater there.

Inside the sixth floor residence.

‘Shit, this didn't even hit?' Morgan cursed and decisively prepared for a second shot, but when he saw the young man holding a black knife through the rifle scope, his four eyes met, and an unprecedented sense of terror surged up from the bottom of his heart.

That feeling was like being stared at by some ferocious beast!

This guy was a bit scary!

But!

He had sneak attacked first, and the other party had the strength to take out the big monster, so he definitely wouldn't let it go, and there was no point in showing weakness.

‘Bang!'

The moment the bullet shot out, Henry dodged into the dead centre of the shooting with a sprint.

Morgan's eyes were gloomy as he commanded, ‘You guys guard the corridor well, no matter who it is, if they dare to come up, they will directly kill them!'

‘Okay Morgan!'

Several juniors immediately went out with their weapons.

On the other side, Henry came to the shooting dead zone underneath building a2, his face was horribly gloomy.

If it wasn't for his ‘night vision' ability and his habit of observing the battlefield environment and discovering Morgan hidden on the sixth floor, Annie would have already been dead just now with that shot.

‘Whew...'

Exhaling smoke, Henry stomped the cigarette butt out heavily.

The end of the world had only just descended, and there was someone who could not hesitate to strike out against his own kind, such a sociopathic personality if he hadn't met him, there was a high probability that he would be able to live well in the end of the world, because this person fit the law of survival in the end of the world perfectly.

But unfortunately, he had messed with the wrong person!

‘Henry, are you okay?' Anne, who was hiding behind a rubbish bin, shouted timidly.

‘It's fine, wait here for me and don't wander off.'

Henry had the keys to the small caravan, it was perfectly possible for Annie to go back to the small caravan to hide, but the defence was not enough, all of his cards below blue were in the caravan, in case Annie drove the caravan and ran away, wouldn't he have been busy for nothing earlier.

Though the likelihood of that was no more than 0.01 per cent.

Henry surveyed the building in front of him, this is a standard six-storey residential building without lift structure, a layer of three households, from the ground floor to climb to the sixth floor, hold up only two or three minutes, but Henry will not be stupid enough to risk his life, in case there are a lot of strengthened human beings in the building, swarming, it will be very troublesome to deal with. Most importantly, the talent he currently had at his disposal would hardly be able to withstand an attack from a hot weapon.

Henry took out a stack of silver and blue cards from the lining pocket of his clothes and smiled as he tore one of the silver cards open.

In the next second, a bundle of explosives appeared in Henry's hand.

This kind of silver card explosives, in his previous life, Henry often used them to blow up blood hearts, and they were extremely powerful.

In fact, this was also the most common method used by humans to dispose of blood hearts in the pre-apocalyptic period, and it was tried and tested.

After taking out the explosives, Henry found a [Remote Control Drone] from the blue card, he hung the explosives on the drone, ignited it, and controlled the drone to fly straight to the sixth floor.

Morgan's several juniors had long been ambushed with their guns in the sixth floor corridor, just waiting for someone to come up and give him a shuttle, but how could they not expect that a drone would fly straight up from the gap of the ‘back' corridor.

‘What the hell?'

‘Crap, explosives?'

‘Run!!!'

By the time they realised the explosives in their ignited state, it was too late to run.

‘Boom!!!'

Only a loud bang was heard as all the glass of the entire building was shattered, and the building shook violently for a while.

Smoke and dust filled the air, plasma splattered everywhere, and broken limbs were scattered all around.

‘Cough cough...'

Morgan was on the sixth floor, separated from the explosives by only a wooden door, although the explosion didn't directly injure him, the loud explosion caused him to experience a brief tinnitus, he struggled strongly to stand up, his still sturdy body was bleeding from the wood shavings that had pierced many cuts.

Through the smoke, he vaguely saw a silhouette flash by.

‘Damn, come on! Have the guts to come in! Old me has killed zombies! I'm not afraid of anything!' Morgan's eyes were streaked with blood, and he raised his snatch to aim at the doorway and yelled.

Henry leaned his back against the wall and smiled as he threw in a melon grenade that he had held in his hand for a full three seconds.

‘Ah! A grenade!?'

‘Boom!'

The room was dead silent after the explosion.

Henry looked at the mutilated body by the window without much joy on his face after defeating the enemy.

War burned money.

Post-apocalyptic wars that burned cards.

This battle that lasted less than three minutes before and after, he used 2 silver cards, explosives and grenades, and 1 blue card, to say that it doesn't hurt is false, after all, the landlord's family has no spare food.

‘You kid better have reinforced over silver cards or I'll lose money.'

Henry muttered to himself as he cut off the corpse's head with a single slash, and quickly searched the room for the scattered cards, carrying the bloody human head away from the scene.

‘What just happened? What blew up?' Anne asked with concern as she saw Henry come out in one piece, her hanging heart falling to the ground.

‘Then.'

Henry casually threw out an object.

Anne, unlike Henry who had night vision, didn't know what it was, and subconsciously raised her hand to pick it up, and when she realised that it was a mangled head in her hand, she instantly went numb with fear.

Anne's face turned pale, ‘You...you...'

Henry laughed, ‘You'll have to get used to it slowly, this head is useful to keep, take it back.'

......

Henry drove the small caravan around the Rose Garden neighbourhood, killing a dozen or so fallen blood corpses along the way, and determined that there was not much grease to be found in this place before decisively leaving.

‘What the hell is the use of this head?'

Anne looked at the head wrapped in rags with a look of disgust, just because of this thing, she didn't have the appetite to eat the remaining hairy crabs and crayfish on the table.

Henry didn't answer her question, but suddenly slammed on the brakes.

Anne realised that something must have happened and rushed over.

Through the car window she saw a scene she would never forget.

Two hundred metres ahead, there was a five or six metre high, bloody, gigantic heart constantly beating, and this disgusting heart was surrounded by hundreds of blood corpses wandering aimlessly.

Annie covered her mouth, her eyes filled with fear and shock, this was the first time she had seen a bloody heart.

‘What's ...... that?'

‘The code of outrageous wealth.'

‘......' Annie froze, 'Huh?'

Instead of rushing to destroy the bloody heart, Henry turned off all the lights inside and outside the car, then went to the dining table, first lifting the back cover of a hairy crab, then tearing out two blue food cards - boiled fish and braised pork - and began to wind down in front of Annie.

Henry ate quickly, wiping out the table in less than half an hour back and forth, and he lit his cigarette and inhaled deeply.

‘What are you going to do about that thing?' Annie looked worried.

Henry glanced at the distant blood heart, tightened the tactical vest on his body, and closed his eyes by the window, ‘What's the rush, I'll take a nap first, and switch shifts with you on watch later.'

Anne instantly cried and laughed, ‘How did you sleep?'

Henry slept for more than three hours.

When he woke up again it was already more than one in the morning, Henry patted Annie who was dozing off and let her go to rest, he himself sat on the driver's seat with a cigarette in his mouth, observing that huge blood heart from afar.

Regarding the information about the blood heart, Henry did not tell Anne the slightest bit, because there is no need.

Originally his plan was to drive all the way towards the east, go to the next door to the sea city where Fiona is to look for her, and in the meantime hunt the night demons and clean up some of the small blood hearts, but the plan couldn't catch up with the changes, and he found such a huge blood heart that was about to be ‘metamorphosed' at the intersection, so he naturally didn't want to leave.

Knowing that after the metamorphosis of the blood heart, the card rate was more than ten times higher than ordinary blood hearts and night devils, there was no reason to throw away the watermelon and pick up the sesame seeds.

The only problem now was that he didn't know how long he would have to wait for the Blood Heart to metamorphose.

‘If the blood corpses of this Blood Heart faction didn't hunt a sufficient number of humans, not only would they not metamorphose, they would also be in danger of being downgraded, I should have known to move all the corpses over to feed it...'

Of course, that was all Henry thought.

The interior space of the caravan wasn't small, but it couldn't hold many corpses, and besides, he had to consider Annie's body, so he wouldn't give the little star a fright again.

‘It's okay, there's plenty of time, just take your time.'

Henry casually threw the cigarette butt out of the window, holding the black knife Chopping Gold, slightly narrowing his eyes.

Time passed slowly, in the blink of an eye a few hours passed, and the sky dawned.
