CHAPTER 9
Clara woke up in the middle of the night to herself laying on top of her wooden table.
She hissed as she walked to the bed.
Her eyes were heavy but she was still angry.. observing that she felt rage in her, she staggered and tried to process why she felt that way although she was sleepy.
" Damnit, I hate that girl" the disgust of Sophie's thoughts was written all over face.
Clara was again drowned in the thoughts that sobbed her to sleep.
"No, I won't think about it. You're tough Clara, Omega's don't feel" he stood for a while then moved closer to her bed.
She wasn't feeling sleepy anymore when she got to the bed.
Her eyes wasn't clouded anymore, she could now see the room clearly.
Clara sat on her bed hoping to catch the next wave of sleep as she gazed at her picture with Sophie she had on her wall.
"What really changed? " She asked herself.
"Look at how happy we were, who would believe two friends will end up as enemies because of an alpha?"
She took her eyes away from the picture to a different direction in the room but her eyes saw something else that reminded her of her childhood days with Sophie.
"Oh the candy box, she gave me that when I visited Asgard" she smiled but her face fades back to the moody look.
Sophie was a sweet and gentle soul, she was never attracted to Lucas because of the "Luna" position.
The love and trust between Lucas and Sophie was organic.
"Should I strike or wait a little?" she asked herself as she was a little confused on what to do since she couldn't take her mind off the love scene between Lucas and Sophie.
"Oh, I believe Lucas just confessed his feelings to her.. yes, I believe. I just have to stick around for some time and watch how everything pans out then I strike" she smiled as she thought herself wise.
"You've got this, Clara. You can now get some rest".

"It was a long day" Sophie's past conflicts with her reality as she lays on her bed struggling to pull off her shoes with her legs.
"Wow, did Lucas just confess his love to me on my 18th birthday? That was so romantic!!!"
She smiled but her wolf reminded her of the past.
She tried to suppress the past and just focus on the memories she made with Lucas at her birthday party.
Her wolf instinct wouldn't let her rest, as she was still thinking about everything that happened to her.. the same man she trusted and loved choosed to listen to someone else.
" Did Lucas really love me? But I do love him. Should I just live the past behind? No I can't, I can't be foolish twice"
Sophie recalled how her parents supported Lucas's decision to imprison her.
Everyone saw her differently because of what Clara did to her.
"But Lucas knew me better.. Lucas and I were supposed to be mates, he knew I wouldn't do anything to hurt her" random questions weighed in her mind but she couldn't resist the tears any longer.
She recalled how she lost pines of blood to the abortion, the picture of herself on top of the table couldn't hold back itself.
"Some good men, some bad men live in a world of love and hate. Till waters of the great ocean splashes, I'll get it right ".
The last words she muffled before she gave up the ghost topped it all.
"The confession of the doctor too.. I almost forgot" she sniffed and continued crying.
Clara paid the doctor to kill Sophie in her past life but the doctor in turn confessed to her.
She was shocked when the doctor told her that her childhood friend wanted her dead in order for her to become Lucas' mate.

Lucas got home late.
He greeted his parents in the sitting room who were seeing late night movies.
"Good evening Mom and Dad, y'all are still awake by this time?" he asked with a corny look.
"Yes, but at least we got home early before you," his father replied.
Her mother chuckled as she added " Son, why do you have such a shady look?, Your dad is right we shouldn't be back home before you, we are your parents"
"But mom I told Dad and you I may be back late"
"Yes you said it but you didn't tell us the time" what if we left the keys to you?" Her mom asked.
"I'd find a way to get myself home before y'all" he answered confidently.
As he was moving to his room smiling his father cleared his throat saying "remember you are the next Alpha my son, please be careful outside, you are not free as you think here.. if the rest of the pack finds out you are the next Alpha you'd be ambushed".
His father turned to the TV series he was seeing with his mother.
Lucas was quiet for a while when he was about taking the next step, the mother interrupted.
"Oh, I almost forgot. How was the birthday party? and why were you smiling?" his mother asked.
"You don't tell her the love side, tell her the party part" Lucas wolf whispered.
"Ehmm, mom, the party? (he takes a deep breaths)"
"Why did you breathe that hard? Is everything ok? I just want to know if you had fun, will you hide that from me? Or are you feeling intoxicated because I don't understand your mood? Ok don't worry about it, it's fine,"
Lucas' mom was more concerned about her son's life than his father was.
She would bug Lucas with questions then use reverse psychology to obtain the answer.
Lucas wasn't smart enough to detect the manipulation in her questions even though it appeared as just a question.
Her tricks never failed, Lucas ignored his wolf's instinct telling her mom everything that happened at the party including the part where he confessed his feelings to Sophie.
