CHAPTER 10
"But mom I was about telling you how the party went, I was just thinking of where to start"
Lucas replied to his mom feeling guilty.
"Remember you don't tell her about what happened between you and Sophie" his wolf instinct reminded him.
" But you didn't look like you were about to tell me anything, oh, was my question wrong?" she asked but was facing the TV.
Lucas ignored his wolf and proceeded.. "But you are seeing a movie with dad, mom..? Ain't we interfering with it".. he asked his mom to be sure if she really wanted to know how the party went.
"Sure, your dad is good.. ain't you honey? she asked his dad, smiling.
"Sure, today's episode is almost over," he answered, kissing her cheeks.
Lucas felt relieved.
"Ok mom, today is literally the best day of my life. I don't know where to start" he smiled looking at his mom with his hands pulling his hair strands.
Her mom looked interested in why the party turned out to be his son's best day.
"Hold up, did you just say today is your best day? Ok, come get a seat. Sounds interesting, you know what? Starting from the place today became your best day".. Lucas cuts in.
"Noooo mom, that'd mean me spilling the whole beans. Let me come get a seat".
His dad turned to his direction saying " you said today was your best day? I'm interested to know why, your mom ain't the only one here don't bypass me young man"
"Honeyyyyy!!" she smiled.
" But dad, you always look uninterested. You've never asked about my day, " said Lucas.
"Did you say never? did I get that well" he asked with his mouth wide open.
" Noooo dad, you didn't get me well. I mean you do ask about my day but I can't remember the last time you did that. You look almost uninterested in my day."
With further confusion on his face his father asked " are you serious Lucas? Are you trying to tell me I've not been a good father "
Lucas cuts in " no dad I never said that, you know you should at least ask about my dad, you know. Not reminding me about being the next Alpha, you know "
Lucas' father felt more relaxed " you know, maybe that's me caring you know" .
"Ok dad, mom, today was my best day, I've found a mate" he confessed as his eyes sparkled.
Lucas's father felt goosebumps on his face as he clears his throat " wait,.. I think I should care more about your day" he sounded disappointed.
His mom cuts in " you know, I didn't expect to hear this from you son. I don't know how I feel." She smiled as she tried to process what Lucas said.
Lucas felt a little uncomfortable because he never informed them he was interested in someone.
"Well.."
"It's fine son, we understand," his father interrupted.
" We are happy son but you never told us you were interested in anyone, but it's fine son. We are happy for you."
Lucas felt better as he smiled.
"What's her name? Hope she's a good one? " His dad asked anxiously.
"Yes she is dad, I mean we are trying to get to know each other better, you know. She was a little distant at first but we were cool. Her name is Sophie from Asgard ".
"Sounds like she's a good one," his mom replied.
"Yes she is mom, we are getting to know each other better. Someday we'll get to meet her."
"Yes we'll love to see her and get to know her some day, just take your time son".
''Wow, wow. We didn't expect this now, prolly earlier or later, but we are happy just take your time.. it's late already, please go get some sleep tomorrow is school".
"Oh yes, I'll do just that" Lucas got up.
"You're lucky they were cool with you" his wolf instinct whispered.
"Good night, pops. Good night, mom. I have to go in and catch some sleep"
"Good night, son.. we love you" his parents replied.
"I love you too, mom, dad."
Lucas retired to his room.
He was up for a while thinking about the memories.. he smiled all through the night and eventually slept off.
It's 5 AM in Asgard.
The whimpering of the gatekeeper woke all the Asgardian wolves up.
For some, their day had already begun before the regular morning whimpering.
But Clara wasn't the type that would leave her bed at the first whimpering, because she had a big black alarm clock beside her bed.
The alarm clock was too big to be placed beside a bed, because a ring from it was loud enough to wake everyone in the house up.
Her parents complained and asked her to get a new one or something less noisy because a ring from it was too loud.
Clara was a deep sleeper, the early morning whimpering had nothing on her.
She bought several alarm clocks before the big black clock, but none was loud enough to disrupt her deep sleep.
Her mom would sometimes come to her room to turn the alarm clock off before it disturbs others' sleep.
Clara's parents had volunteered to wake her up everyone morning but she insisted on leaving the alarm beside her.
Everything was always her way, even when family decisions were made
Her mom would ask her the type of meal she wanted and the same would be prepared for the rest of the family.
Today was different, her parents were still asleep as her alarm ranged.
Clara woke up immediately as he reached out to turn off the alarm.
"Shit, it's 6 already? Not today. Not today. "
She ran into the bathroom to take a quick bath.
Sophie woke up when she heard the first whimpering.
Her thoughts were still all over the place as she forced herself out of the bed.
But she was still not happy for the things Lucas did to her.
She thought of what Clara said in her past life, maybe she too could have a second mate.
" I can't repeat the same mistake twice, I can't watch myself go down the same lane. What if there's no other chance?".
Sophie stood up and went straight to the bathroom.. "I have to get myself prepared for school, but I have to come up with a plan. I can't die twice, no matter how Lucas makes me feel, I don't want to end up with him, it didn't end well the last time".
What she felt for Lucas was too strong; she couldn't think for too long.
It was already past her preparation time.. she went to the bathroom, took her bath and prepared for school.
She went straight to the dinning and picked some sandwich, ate it and left for school.
