Chapter 10 : A Little Girl
They looked at each other before looking at Beatrix. I approached them as Beatrix entered.
"Man, what are you doing..here?" Kai asked hesitantly before looking at Levi. My forehead furrowed because of the way they both acted. I was about to speak when Levi answered.
"Bro, are you the one who delivered Bea?" I nod at him without uttering a word, "oh, we'll go first. See sounds from you tomorrow. " They were about to leave when I heard inside. I grabbed Levi's arm tightly, a sign that I wasn't what they were up to Levi looked at Kai who just nods with happy.
"Let him go, we won't be the ones to suffer."
"Shit! Bro, my arm. It hurts!" I reluctantly dropped Levi's arm before first walking inside, right in the yard where I heard the noises. "Bro, wait!" The two of them chased me and at the same time we went to the backyard. I heard the others singing exactly, but what caught my attention was Beatrix's face while smiling to…. Zach. He had his eyes covered but he also immediately removed it after hearing the song. Klea was pushing her wheelchair closer to the visitors, my employees.
"Happy Birthday, Chukie!" It seemed to break my heart to see how Beatrix kissed Zach on the cheek. It's just on the cheek but it hurts so much to see.
"Why aren't you crying, crying baby?"
'Hmp, of course it's your day. Thank you for everything. Thank you for staying with me when I am with my ups and down until now. Thank you and I'm sorry if your birthday celebration is late because I just left the restaurant and I just contributed a cake."
"What a cake. Don't listen to him, Zach. He really planned but he just couldn't leave because our monster boss tortured him." I gasped and averted my eyes.
"Don' t worry too much. That's okay. And at least, keep your promise. Thank you. " I looked at them again but I regretted it because I saw Zach kiss Beatrix on the lips. I clenched my fist before averting my gaze again.
"Is that what I'm telling you? That's why we don't want to let you in earlier." Levi's words caught my eye. I wish I hadn't entered their house so I wouldn't have seen them. Is this how Beatrix feels every time she sees us secretly with Anika. I can't bear to ask Zach to see them go for a deep kiss. It's like I can kill someone. I didn't know it was such a pain.
"Let's go ."
"Sir, you're also here!" I was about to leave when I heard that voice that I knew came from one of my staff. I could do nothing but look away causing Beatrix and I to see each other but she averted her gaze .
"Bro!" I saw Zach's happy face approaching in our direction. I saw how Beatrix took him. "I thought you would never come. Because Levi said you were busy. I'm glad you got there. Come in." I feel guilty. If I leave, Zach will be sad. Even if we're not okay. I mean..I'm the only one who's not okay with him.
"S-Sorry bro, I didn't bring a gift." I said but he just smiled.
"That's okay. Let's eat. My birthday is coming to an end." Beatrix pushed him closer to the table again. We were still standing here when Levi suddenly tapped me on the shoulder.
"Let's go. " I just nodded very before heading to the tables full food. They were having fun while playing that MC your Klea.That woman seemed angry with me because what happened to Beatrix and me.
'The next singer is none other than Beatrix. Offer a song for the birthday boy. " I glanced at the table where Beatrix was with Jane and Zach.
"You are embarrassing. Get down there."
"What are you? No need to be embarrassed here, girl. Oh, do you want Zach to ask you for it?"
One of my employees spoke, "coax me, Zach! Yiee! "
"Guys, let Beatrix pass this time."
"What? Not allowed. I will not stop here. " I looked at Levi, Kai and Joe who had just arrived.
"Is that how that woman behaves?" I pointed to the woman in front.
"Yes haha… Ask Kai what he liked there." I was shocked to look at Kai who just punched Joe.
"Stupid! I don't like that noisy woman." I was just shaken on stage again and I saw Beatrix standing there holding the mic until the song 'thank you next' was played
"Oh, shit! Does that mean Bea has moved on with you dude? " Kai's innocent question caused Levi to push him away. "Sorry."
I clenched my fist to hear him sing while looking at Zach especially there at the end where he mentioned that he was grateful to his ex. That's not fun lyrics for me. Kai is right, he seems to have moved on with me because of the lyrics that he is grateful to his ex as if he is saying that because of me he found Zach. She's grateful to me but she's thankful to Zach .
"Mama! Dada!" I went back to reality when I heard a kid voice. I look to the glass door that is connected inside the door and there I saw a little girl who is now crying. I thought she would run to Levi and Jane since this is their house but then I realize that Levi is sitting beside me and the girl didn't run to Jane but, instead, she run to Beatrix and to Zach.
I was shock that I can't even utter a word.
I look to the little girl and studied her face. If I look at her, she must be three years old and above, based on her height. I clench my fist as I computed the day I left her and the age of the little girl Suddenly, I stood up and walk put from the backyard.
Damn it! She's been cheating on me during our marriage and that little girl is the proof.
