“Boss wants two bottles of Chateau Margaux, in a tray, I’ll take it up.” I muttered to Aaron with no hint of familiarity written on my face.
After that night, I resumed as Dante’s guard and I’ve followed him around since then and I won’t lie, he’s got lots of legal business and if this bastard hadn’t slain my parents, I’d never have believed him to be involved in dubious activities.
“Yes sir.” He mumbled and turned around as he began looking for what I said.
“You’re so good at this, heck, I’d have smiled if we were outside.” He muttered through gritted teeth and I bowed my head, pretending to check my watch.
“Have you checked around for the cameras? Is there a way we can clone them? Any new updates? You worked late yesterday, did you find something?” I asked and he placed one bottle before me.
“Nothing yet, it’s hard to detect these cameras but they’re not invisible, believe me when I say these assholes spend fortunes on technical stuff— I’m still in shock that they don’t have bugs in our clothes. What about you? It’s been two weeks already, Captain is waiting for an update.” He placed another bottle before me, his face blank as he bent to find the opener.
“He has to be patient, that asshole Draco is being a big pain in my ass, he’s always around me and finds the silliest reasons to keep me away from Dante. I can’t wait to get him behind bars.” I gritted out as I stared around for anything unusual.
“I’m still in shock that you made it this far, you’re damn lucky and you gotta watch your back man, they’re very cunning. Our normal spot, tonight.” Aaron whispered as he handed the cart over to me and without a word, I began wheeling it to the office of my new Boss, Dante Sinclair.
“I don’t fucking trust that bastard! He’s just too good to be true. What if he’s a cop? You know how many times those retards have tried to infiltrate this place…” I heard Draco whisper and I knocked on the door, happy to interrupt whatever they wanted to discuss.
“I don’t like being talked about behind my back, Draco.” I muttered softly, staring at him intently while he almost flared up in anger.
“Shut the fuck up! I don’t fucking trust you. The safety of Boss is my biggest priority.” He growled and I smiled.
“The same goes for me. Since we have the same goal, can you stop getting in my way?”
“You fucking stalked Boss!”
“I protected him, something you failed to do.” I retorted and he scoffed.
“Do you think it’s that easy to harm Boss?” These words got me confused for a second.
“You look like a police to me. Your portfolio states that you were in police training when you entered school…”
“I got trained by the Feds doesn’t mean I have to be one of them—“
“Then explain why there’s nothing in your portfolio after graduating about three years ago?” He countered and with a straight face, I walked up to him.
“I was a private investigator, I did jobs for my clients off the records because they were dirty jobs and now I’m working for Boss and it’s not in my portfolio because I love to keep my jobs confidential.” Seething out these words only made him more furious but he had nothing more to say.
“The day I find out you’re a cop, I promise you that your skull would be sitting neatly on your cheap ass desk in that office.” He threatened and although I was scared, I tried very hard to conceal it.
“You can leave now Draco, don’t forget to stop by the warehouse— Not another word, Draco.” Dante warned and without a word, Draco bowed and walked out.
“Pass the wine. You seem to be getting Draco worked up, I’ve never seen him so tense.” Dante muttered with a dark smirk and I walked up to him with a bottle.
“Sit, have a drink with me. You seem amusing.” He mumbled and a small smile crept to my face, it seemed like the night was looking up.
He uncocked the wine, pouring it into two glasses as he pointed at the chair. “This is a celebratory drink, since your recruitment is sudden, I can’t throw a party but we can have drinks. Cheers to you, welcome to the family.” Dante announced as we clinked bottles and a broad smile appeared on my face.
“Thank you, Boss.” I mumbled as I took a sip out of my drink, staring at him sneakily.
“Drink up, today is your happy day.” He continued as he poured himself another glass and a small smile appeared on my face.
With a smile, I watched as we both downed our drinks. I was extremely slow but in less than thirty minutes, he had downed more than half of the bottle and excitement blossomed within me at the thought of him getting drunk.
“Boss— You’re getting drunk already, you should stop…” I whispered, feigning concern and he just chuckled as he poured himself another glass.
“Ca— Call… Draco to come pick… me up—“ He slurred as he tried very hard to retain his balance.
“I… I can take you to your room, Draco wouldn’t answer my calls.” I suggested and he nodded as he produced his keys sluggishly.
With his hands around my shoulders, we began heading towards the hotel behind the bar. It was a very big hotel and although I was very nervous, I managed to remain calm as I took him upstairs, answering every question that came my way without batting an eyelid.
This was my first time on the top floors of the hotel and it looked extremely beautiful. I looked around, trying very hard to find the security cameras but just as I had guessed, there was nothing.
Whatever happens on the top floor, stays on the top floor. I pushed his door open and gasped at the beauty of the room.
Surprisingly, he wasn’t saying much and I just wanted him to be asleep before I began ransacking the room for any incriminating object.
“You should go to sleep, it’s late already.” I whispered as I placed him on the bed, knelt on one knee and removed his shoes. With a small smile on my face, I tucked him in bed.
I waited for a few minutes, I was anxious and nervous at the same time, sweat beads had covered my head as I imagined the kind of death that would await me, should anyone walk into the door.
After those painfully long and quiet minutes, I grabbed two gloves out of my jacket. I glanced at Dante one more time before I opened his wardrobe, disappointment evident because it had very few clothes.
I wasn’t going to give up easily, opportunities like these are rare and I’d make the most of this one. I began checking the drawers, opening them slowly as I tried not to make any sound.
There was nothing and sweating profusely, the only thing left to check was a small box inside the room. I knew instantly it was the one and I rushed over, pulling it open but much to my dismay, there was nothing.
I felt pissed and I felt like turning the room upside down until I found something. “The bathroom.”
I dashed into the bathroom, staring around as I opened the cupboard above, my head buried inside but much to my shock and dismay, I felt a hand travel up my chest as a warm body came dangerously close to me.
I froze instantly as a chill went down my spine. Something primal broke inside of me, the feel of Dante’s hand was dangerously intense and with my fear and the alcohol, it was just too much to take in.
“Boss—“
“Shhh, a few moments of pleasure won’t undo the evidence you’re trying to get, Detective Rex.” He whispered into my ears sultrily as his second hand slowly moved towards my member. A touch was all it took for me to twitch in fear, excitement and anticipation.
