CHAPTER 8

London's POV

I frowned and pulled the phone away from from my ear and stared at the screen. Why does this voice sound sickly familiar? I placed my phone back on my ear.

" Hello? Who's this?" I asked still frowning. Please let it be someone else, Please let it be someone else.

" You tell me" The voice spoke and my stomach dropped. What the fuck?!

" Mr. Morales? Is that you? How the fuck did you get my number?!" I threw questions at him.

" And here I thought that you'd be happy to hear my voice" He joked and I could not help but scoff.

" Dream on" I crossed my legs on the bed and rested my left hand on my left knee" Wait....Why are you calling me?" I asked with a raised brow.

" I just called to check up on you and to make sure that you're studying and not slacking off" I stated and I frowned.

Check up on me? Why would he want to check up on me? I'm not that special that he would want to check up on me. And we're definitely not that close that he would care about me. We only met two days ago for fuck's sake! What does he want from me? I'm starting to get creeped out here but somehow its also kind of exciting.

" Are you even listening to me!" I flinched at his voice.

" Y...yes sir" I replied still a little shaken. Fuck! His voice is not one that should be owned by a lecture, he should be in the Knight Empire or something. I bet he would have taken the leader's place in no time with that voice.

He sighed" I said that you should read the papers I gave you cause the next time we have a class you will be writing an unofficial quiz so we can test your knowledge so far" He explained. " And don't even think about skipping classes next week, I know where you leave" He warned and I grunted a replied.

He chuckled and I could not help but imagine how it would have felt if placed my head on his chest when he rumbled a chuckled. I felt a mini hard on coming along at the thought. Fuck! What is wrong with me?!

" Can I hung up now?" I grumbled and he chuckled yet again. Fuck!

" Sure" He replied " Have a blissful weekend" He added. I can already imagine him smirk. Screw this guy!

"Yeah, whatever" With that I hang up. After that spent close to five minutes staring at my phone before I groaned.

" I can't deal with this right now" I muttered before dropping my phone and getting of the bed then headed for the bathroom for a shower.

Orlando's POV

I was sitting in my office, working on next week's lessons. You can't blame me though, this is the only thing that I have that can keep me busy since I live alone in this apartment. And besides I have to make sure that I keep up this act of a lecture.

Suddenly my burner phone started ringing and I turned to it before picking it up and answering the call. I placed it on my ear waiting for the caller to speak.

" Boss" My right hand man Grayson's voice come through the tiny speaker of the burner phone.

" Hmmm" I replied. Flipped through a stack off papers using my free hand and read them.

" The Ghosts have taken over the Cat's eye branch" He dropped the bomb shell. My grip on the phone tightened that I almost broke it.

Shit! Another one? Is he really planning to take over the Empire? But what does he think he'll gain from this? Has he not done enough damage to the Knight's legacy as it is? Just wait until I get my hand on you, Tristan.

" How many are left?" I asked and leaned back on my chair.

" Five, Including the Main branch " He replied.

I sighed and touched the bridge of my nose" Maybe I should come back" I suggested.

" No, Don't. You know that you have a target on your back. If you end up being spotted you could be killed instantly. Do not leave the island, not even by mistake!" He ordered and I chuckled. He always sounded like my late mother when he spoke like that.

" Fine, I won't leave" I replied and I heard him sigh.

" Goods. How are you by the way?" He changed the subject.

I smirked" I'm fine thank you. Just hate my job" I explained.

" Come on man, that is the only job that will not draw too much attention and beside no one will ever think of you becoming a lecture to a bunch of rich kids in silver island" He said and I grunted.

" I know but..."

" No buts Orlando! You're staying there until I say its clear to come out of hiding, ok?" I leaned on my table and sighed.

" Oh, so we're being informal now, huh?" I joked.

He sighed" Sometime I wonder how you are the most feared mafia leader when you're rarely serious. I have to go, I'll speak to you later" With that hung up. I stared at the phone in surprise. He hung up on me. Is he mad at me?

I chuckled. Grayson is my childhood friend, Someone who's always had my back and has never left my side, and I will forever appreciate him. Moving here was also his idea and I like a good boy listened to him and traveled hundreds of miles from the city to lecture a bunch of stuck up rich kids. Oh, how the mighty have fallen. But then again its not that bad.

The face of that gold-blonde haired boy appeared in my mind. From the moment I laid my eyes on him I was hooked, the way his gold-blonde hair gleamed in the light, framing his face that was carved to perfection. Amber green eyes that sparkled with mischief, their depths hinted at a sharp wit and quick intelligence. Chiseled cheekbones and a strong jawline gave him a resolute air, yet his full lips curved into a smile when he saw his friends in the last row in class, the smile was both captivating and disarming. He exuded an effortless charm, the kind that drew admiring glances and whispers of awe from his fellow students. He was a true Adonis come to life, an angel, and I wanted him.

I smiled when I remembered the last conversation we had on the phone. He really was as fascinating as art in an art gallery, he was gutsy but also know when to back down. And everything about him is just so exciting, I can't wait to see what come backs he'll bring next week.
