Chapter 6

Alpha Jack POV

Those boys, what’s going to become of them? Are they going to die? Because they were badly beaten by me. Or they would live and tell the story? No matter how I looked at it I was in trouble.

I couldn’t go back to school without facing the consequences. There was no life for me back there. At the same time, I had nowhere to turn to. They say I’m a werewolf but where do werewolves live? Who are my people? Where do I find them? And what if they don’t accept me? I don’t even know how to be a werewolf. I’m so useless! Why was I ever born?

I was struggling so much. Growing up as an orphan, it was hard not knowing who I was and where I came from but in those days I used to think that I was human so it blended in perfectly, but now it was different. Finding out that I was a wolf was particularly hard on me.

I stopped running after a while and stopped to catch my breath. Maybe I should find Marie, she would know what to do. She was the only one who could help me in this situation.

So I started to make my way back to the road. I had to get to Marie’s house before it got any darker. Tell me why I got to the roadside only to see those muscular men in suits again. This time there were about six of them. I stopped in my tracks contemplating what to do.

I looked past them and that luxurious unbranded car was parked meters away with the door open. They all bowed their heads.

“Alpha Jack, we came to take you back.” They said,

I sighed, it’s not like I had anywhere to go. I had beaten up the children of the ones who were paying my tuition in an expensive school. I lived in a foster home where anyone barely paid attention to me, my life wasn’t great out here. Yet. I was afraid of these people, afraid because I didn’t know them.

“What do you want from me?” I mustered courage and asked.

“We’ve come to take you back to the Silver Moon pack where you belong.”

“Silver moon? I echoed. “Is it far from here?” I asked but they didn’t respond, maybe because they didn’t know.

“You have to come with us, you’re our last hope. The last Alpha.” One of them said,

This time I could see that they weren’t planning on kidnapping me, maybe because they noticed that I was stronger and faster than they would ever be.

But just when I thought that they wouldn’t ambush me, they did and this time they caught me off guard and stuffed me into the backseat of the car.

“Wait! There’s someone I need to say goodbye to.” I screamed. “At least let me tell Marie that I’m going away for good.”

“We’re sorry Alpha, but the order was to bring you back immediately. We can’t risk letting anyone know.” They informed me.

It was a long ride on a route I didn’t even know existed in Redrock City, or maybe we were no longer in Redrock.

“We’re not in Redrock anymore. The Silvermoon pack is not far from here. We will be home soon.” My wolf informed me.

“Home?” I chuckled, how is it home when I’ve never been there?

“You will soon feel at home.” My wolf assured me. But if I were him, I wouldn’t be so confident.

We arrived at the entrance of a city. It had a great wall around it, “Welcome to…” the sign read but instead of writing the name of the city it had a silver painting of the moon. We were stopped at the gates by security who inspected our car thoroughly.

“We are bringing the Alpha back.” The driver explained. The security guard shined his touch on me and gasped and soon we were driving through the city. It was like a whole country on its own.

Even at night, I could tell that this place was beautiful.

“We will be taking you to the pack house…” one guard who was seated by me said, but paused briefly then continued. “Sorry for not introducing myself. I’m Beta Ivan. I am your father’s beta.”

“What the hell is a beta, and what do you mean by father? I have no father.”

“Yes, you do. He’s the king of this pack, this is where you were born.” Beta Ivan explained.

I was left dumbfounded, not only did I have a father but he was a king! And I had been living as a pauper tolerating all forms of abuse just to keep a scholarship. What was that for?

“It’s because you were separated a few months after birth.” Beta Ivan answered the question I had asked in my head.

“How did you do that?” I asked.

“You mind linked me. Was that by accident?” He replied.

Mind link? What the hell was that?

“Don’t worry Alpha Jack, you will be trained in the ways of a werewolf very soon and all these won’t feel like news to you.” Beta Ivan stated. “First things first. You need to be reunited with your father.”

We arrived at what they called the pack house. It was basically like a castle, I had never seen anything so beautiful and it was situated in the middle of a mountain that looked over the city. I couldn’t believe my luck as I cast glances everywhere, unable to take it all in at once.

I obediently followed beta Ivan as we got in an elevator and then into a beautiful upper room. I was taken indoors to meet a bedridden old man.

Tears welled up in his eyes when he saw me, “Oh it’s you, Jack. I’m so glad to have you back.” He reached for my hand but I didn’t move an inch.

Who was this old man and why had he left me to suffer all this while he was literally the king of such a great city? I balled my fist maybe with the intent to hit him, as anger welled up within me.
