Nelly’s POV

—Ella está muerta, por su culpa. Él mató a la Luna —grita.
—Es un cachorro inocente. No puedes culparlo a él; si no querías otro hijo, deberías haberte controlado —le digo furiosa.
—Va a pagar por lo que hizo —escupe James.
—No hizo nada y lo sabes. Lárgate antes de que te arranque la garganta —le advierto.
—¿Estás amenazando al Alfa? —ruge.
—No uses esa mierda de Alfa conmigo. No funciona. Solo eres Alfa porque estabas emparejado con Rachael y lo sabes. Eres un débil y no lo tocarás mientras yo esté viva —grito—. Shh, Danny. Papá no podrá hacerte daño —le susurro al bebé, tratando de calmarlo.
—¿Qué sigues haciendo aquí? Aléjate de nosotros —le grito, liberando mi aura mientras James baja la cabeza en sumisión y sale del hospital.

Miro a Vanessa; juro que había vapor saliendo de mis oídos, estoy tan furiosa.
—Lo arreglaré —le digo, saliendo del hospital con Daniel en mis brazos.

Danny’s POV (10 años después)
—Abuela, voy a la piscina —le grito a la abuela Nelly mientras salgo por la puerta.
—Está bien, no te quedes mucho tiempo; la cena estará lista pronto —me responde.
Me dirijo por el camino hacia la piscina y me meto en el agua.
—¿Haciendo vueltas, Danny? —pregunta Omega Sandra.
—Sí —le respondo y empiezo a nadar por el carril exterior de la piscina.
Nado hasta la mitad de la piscina.
—Todd, idiota; casi caes sobre mí —le grito por lanzarse tan cerca de la gente.
—¿Oyes algo, Stephanie? —se ríe.
—Escuché, bla, bla, bla —se ríe ella también.
Nado alrededor de la pareja para seguir nadando mis vueltas.
—Danny, necesitas ir a casa, ahora —me llama Omega Sandra.
—¿Qué pasa? —pregunto saliendo de la piscina.
—La casa de Luna Janelle está en llamas. Necesitas ir a casa —grita.
—¡Abuela! —grito, corriendo a casa tan rápido como puedo. Hay gente por todas partes tratando de apagar las llamas. Betta Simon sale con la abuela Nelly.

—Doctor Fraser, ¿la abuela está bien? —pregunto cuando entra en la sala de espera.
—Quiere verte, Danny. Simon, deberías quedarte cerca —dice sonriendo.
Entro en la habitación donde tienen a la abuela.
—Danny, necesitas venir aquí —susurra la abuela Nelly.
Me acerco y me siento en el borde de la cama, dándole un beso en la frente.
—Danny, necesitas ser fuerte. En unos años tendrás a tu lobo y tú y él serán muy fuertes juntos —dice tosiendo.
—¿Te traigo un poco de agua? —le pregunto.
—No, estoy bien. Danny, cuando tengas 18 años, tendrás tu propia pareja y tendrás cachorros.
—Lo sé, abuela. Trataré a mis cachorros como ángeles —le digo.
—Abuela, ¿vas a volver a casa? —le pregunto.
—Mi dulce y precioso niño, la Diosa Selene me está llamando a casa —me dice.
—No, abuela —grito, con lágrimas corriendo por mi rostro.
—Necesitas ser fuerte por mí —dice, cerrando los ojos, y una enfermera me lleva de vuelta a la sala de espera para hablar con Betta Simon.
—James, Luna Janelle falleció esta tarde. Tengo a Error conmigo —dice Betta Simon, llamando a la puerta de la oficina de papá.

—Toddy —llama Anastasia, entrando por las puertas.
—Mierda —dice Todd, soltando mi cabello y corriendo en la otra dirección.
—¿Con qué frecuencia te golpea tu hermano? —pregunta Jesse.
—Siempre que tiene la oportunidad —le respondo, levantándome de nuevo.
—¿Dónde fue Todd, Josie? —pregunta Anastasia.
—No lo he visto —responde ella, con una mirada inocente en su rostro.
—Fue por allí —sonrío, señalando la puerta opuesta.
Josie me mira con desprecio, golpeándome con otra cacerola.
—Eww, el esclavo me habló —grita Anastasia, pateándome mientras sale corriendo por la otra puerta.
—¿Hay alguien aquí que no piense que mataste a Luna Rachael? —pregunta Jesse.
—En la casa de la manada, solo Betta Simon —le informo.
—¿Por qué no te ayuda Betta Simon a escapar?
—Porque papá le ordenó que no lo hiciera. Si lo encuentran ayudándome, el castigo es la muerte instantánea. Me trae comida y agua de vez en cuando, cuando puede o se acuerda —le digo.
—No estás solo ahora, Danny. Encontraremos una manera de salir de aquí —trata de animarme.
—Solo hay una manera de salir. Tendré que matarme —le digo.
—Eres más fuerte que eso, Danny. Encontraremos otra manera.
