He’s the alpha king, my crush, my guardian. And he’s 20 years older than me.

“How old are you?”
“T-Twenty,” I bit my lower lip, stuttering on the lie. “I’m an adult.”
I trembled but turned my head, allowing him to drag his nose along my neck and breathe in my scent. I didn’t know what I smelled like to him. Did I smell like I was lying?
I held still. He shifted just a bit, seemingly retreating, and I flung my arms around his neck, holding him down.
“Please, Alpha King,” I said. My voice trembled even as I tried to sound sultry. “I’m… sure I can please you.”
“Do you know what happens when you lie to the Alpha King, little girl?”
He knew. I should have known that he would know I wasn’t twenty.
“You seem so deliberate, but I’m not interested in your offer. How about we play a game?”
“A-A game?”
He narrowed his eyes and gave me a slow, cruel smile.
“If you win, I’ll grant you sanctuary.”
My eyes widened with a spark of hope.

    omg 😦 waist of time 😳 loved Hedy’s character in the beginning, she was cool, smart. what happened? can’t remember when the last book i read turn this must around, I thought about just skipping the rest. it’s the same al ower again and again and again 🫩🫩

    honestly I loved this book until you destroyed Hedy’s character and turned it into some weird crazy obsession , I’m holding out hope thinking maybe she had some curse cast in her or the potion she drank made her crazy but honestly I don’t think I can even make it through , I was enthralled at first but your choice of direction with the characters is making me feel like I can’t finish

    The first 100 is good but after that it sucks!! Hedy is too annoying and the plot is horrible!

    She really needs to grow up and think about someone than herself. love is sacrificing yourself for the other if you have too and always put before yourself. This girl is not getting it, no matter how people are trying to explain it to her. sad

    i think that the goddess herself is gonna have to do somthing to sort hedy out, that people aren't helping her, telling her to grow up but when she asks questions people mock her i get her attitude to an extent but she needs help
