The way they address each other with last names isn’t very western and some of the themes like pregnancy before marriage being a bit taboo and frowned apone. The main character is a bit all over the place with being inderpendant to very dependant and a bit of a shopaholic which seems a bit out of character for a modern western woman who has a career, dependants etc. I think this would have made more sense if it was based in East Asia as some of the countries are a bit more traditional.
