Chapter 110

[Third-Person’s POV]

Alexander didn’t question his grandmother when she came into his office to tell him about his apparent plans for the evening. In fact, he was actually looking forward to them.

“Now that the truth has been let out, don’t you think it’s time for you and Evelyn to work on building your chemistry as a married couple?” Wendy asked him. “You and Evelyn are expected to have dinner in the formal dining room this evening.”

“You mean the dining room adjacent to the ballroom?” he questioned.

Wendy flashed a knowing smile and curtly nodded. “Perhaps, after dinner, you could demonstrate to Evelyn how good of a dancer you are...”

Needless to say, Alexander got the message she was trying to send to him. When six o’clock rolled around, he stopped whatever he was doing and headed to the bedroom to freshen up.

Upon entering the empty room, he felt a sudden wave of disappointment. Eveyln still hadn’t completely moved herself back into the master bedroom yet. There hadn’t been any real decision when it came to it.

Yes, Alexander purposely got rid of the two separate beds and placed them in one larger one. Just the thought of knowing that he had intentionally placed two separate beds in the room to start off made him inwardly cringe.

It was an idiotic idea to have in the first place.

He wanted more mornings like the one they shared today. Minus the emotional rollercoaster and memory whiplash, of course.

Alexander wanted to fall asleep every night with Evelyn enveloped in his arms. He wanted her close in case she needed him for anything. In case he needed to help ease her unsteady emotions...or, perhaps, even fulfill a hidden desire.

Alexander switched into a fresh dress shirt and pants before heading to pick up Evelyn. There was a likely chance that she’s never been to the formal dining room which meant she had no idea where it was located.

No matter. He approached her bedroom door and softly knocked. A short moment passed and the door opened, revealing one of the most stunning sights he’d ever seen.

Evelyn wore a long dark blue gown that accentuated the perfect curve of her bust. His eyes were unapologetically drawn to the deep crease of her cleavage. Her hair was kept down from its usual hair tie and gently curled at the bottom.

“Oh my God,” he whispered under his breath. “You look...”

Jesus Christ, there wasn’t a single word that could properly describe just how beautiful she looked. He noticed the slight blush that stained her cheeks and felt most of the blood in his body drop straight down to his crotch.

“Thank you. You look handsome, as always,” she said wistfully.

He quirked a brow. “As always? Surely, you’re only saying that now because I’ve finally taken that ridiculous mask away.”

She shook her head. “No, actually. The mask, although unnecessary, added to your allure.”

His allure?

Without another word, he watched Evelyn trail out of the room. He quickly snapped out of his mental revere and placed her hand in the crook of his arm. He led her down a different set of hallways to a whole new room she’d never seen.

The dining room table was much larger than the one they were used to sitting at. The table was set for just the two and the room was enwrapped in a soft illuminant glow from all the candles around.

As soon as they sat down, the kitchen staff came out with the first courses. They ate in pleasant silence for a while until the main course was brought out.

“Oh, I meant to tell you earlier. Oliver reached out and spoke to me,” she told him. “He just wanted to give me an update on my brother’s status. It looks like Edward is going to make a full recovery.”

Alexander shared her excitement. He reached out to capture her hand, giving it a tight squeeze. “That’s amazing,” he said with a smile. “It’s because of all you’ve done to help him get better.”

God, I love watching her cheeks flush. It reminds me of how utterly debauched she looked last night with my face between her thighs.

“I really tried to do everything I could,” she said. “Honestly, the best boost to his treatments would be to keep Isabella as far away from him as possible.”

His brows furrowed, prompting her to explain.

“I’m not sure how much Wendy was able to relay over to you, I came to the swift conclusion that Isabella had been the one tempering with Edward's treatments. Knowing I was constantly overseeing his health, prevented her from carrying on with her plans. She made her disdain for my presence rather clear.”

The parallels between Isabella and Caroline were all too clear in Alexander's mind. Both women were utterly despicable—all for the pursuit of bettering their own positions in life.

Something had to be done about Isabella. What she’d done to Evelyn and tried to do to Edward was unforgivable.

“Evelyn, what happened to your brother?” he dared to ask.

She paused for a moment. “Edward had just been riding his motorcycle that day. No one believed what had happened, at first. He’s always been a safe and skilled rider. He was side-swiped by a car which sent him flying off his bike and into the side of a nearby building. It’s a miracle that he’s still alive but the accident left him in a coma.”

Everything about Edward’s near-fatal story bothered Alexander. There were a slew of other questions that came to mind; however, he could tell that this wasn’t something Evelyn wanted to talk about. He let it go, for now.

Once they finished dinner, Alexander got up from the table and offered his hand for her to take.

“Come with me,” he urged.

Evelyn took his hand and the two left the dining room to head into a large open room surrounded by massive hanging chandeliers. Her eyes widened in shock over the absolute grandeur. Soft instrumental music started to come through the built-in hidden speakers.

“Oh my God.”

“Will you dance with me?” he asked. He slid a firm hand around her hip and pulled her flush against his chest. “One of my biggest regrets was not having the chance to dance with you at our wedding. Come to think of it, that whole event should have gone entirely differently.”

Evelyn smiled and the two began to sway around the room. Alexander gently twirled her and continued to lead while she merely soaked in the music and happiness she didn’t expect to find.

As the music began to die down, Evelyn rested her head on his shoulder.

“I want to move back into the master bedroom,” she said quietly. “I don’t like waking up alone. I don’t think I can do that anymore.”

Alexander felt a jolt of excitement race down his spine as he glanced down at her. He took her chin between his thumb and forefinger, making her lift her head up to look at him.

“Neither can I. I need to feel you close to me at the end of every day,” he told her. He brushed the pad of his thumb over her bottom lip.

Her breathing hitched. “And...”

“And what?”

“And I can’t stop thinking about the way you made me feel last night.”

The corner of his mouth curved upward. “Is my Luna telling me that she wants me to get down on my knees and lap at that sweet, little pussy she has?”

He watched Evelyn’s mind briefly go blank.

“No,” she said breathlessly. “I want it all.”
