Chapter 5 Darkness Completely Take Over

- Vienna's POV -

I panicked as the heat surged violently... spreading through my veins until I screamed louder, my voice raw.

The vampires who bit me shrieked in horror as flames engulfed them, their bodies burning to ash before my wide, disbelieving eyes.

I stared at my hands... glowing, flaring, alive with fire. My whole body burned with a terrifying, uncontrollable power...

The leader released me, fear etched into his pale face. "What are you!?"

I don't know... I had no answer. Suddenly, a picture of the little girl on fire which I always saw in my dream snapped into me... it was the same as mine.

I stumbled backward, my flaming hands trembling, my mind blank with terror. I hadn't even realized my heel slipped off the cliff's edge until the ground gave way beneath me.

I fell, as I was falling... the wind roared in my ears, but all I could see was her... her anger and the flames in her body... she was like me... wait-

Was she me? Then... who was that boy?

The fire vanished as the cold air swallowed me whole.

And for the first time, I welcomed death. Maybe this was my release. Maybe, finally... I could rest.

---

"We'll see each other again... my Princess."

It was this dream again... His words repeated in my mind, But something was different this time. The boy I always saw in my dreams was now... staring directly at me. It felt as if he was talking to me.

I looked around, my eyes searching for the little girl, but she was nowhere. Only empty space stretched before me.

Then suddenly, the boy ran. Straight toward the burning house.

My chest tightened. “No! Don’t go there!” I shouted but he didn’t hear me.

The explosion came next, louder and hotter than I had ever imagined. The fire spread, consuming everything as smoke filled the air.

I closed my eyes... this was just a dream, I said to myself.

Then... I opened my eyes slowly. My body felt heavy, almost numb, like I had been sleeping for years.

The dream lingered in my mind, vivid and sharp, like it had actually happened. I could still feel the heat of the fire, still hear the boy’s voice. It haunted me, as it always did. I tried to shake it off, but the fear remained, deep inside my chest, twisting with something I could not name.

But... where am I?

My vision was blurry, I blinked a few times until shapes began to clear.

There, I saw a man and a woman stood beside me. They were dressed in fine clothes... clothes I had never seen before. Their crowns sparkled under the light, heavy and bright. Their faces were soft, smiling down at me kindly.

A king… and a queen?

My heart beat unevenly. Why would a king and queen be here?

I felt so tired. My body was heavy, and my eyes wanted to close again. I wanted to ask where I was, what was happening, but my lips would not move. My voice was gone, trapped in my throat.

The king and queen stepped aside slowly, like they were giving way for someone.

And then, I saw her.

My breath caught.

A girl walked toward me. No… not just a girl. A princess. She wore a beautiful gown that moved softly as she walked, and her crown was smaller but shining just the same. Her hair fell in waves down her shoulders. Her eyes… they looked just like mine. Her face… it was my face.

I froze.

Was I… looking at myself?

No, this was different. She looked like me, but stronger. Her eyes were like ice, I had never seen in mine. She was me… but not me.

Am I still in a dream?

That was the only thought I had. It had to be a dream. What else could it be?

But it felt too real. The ground under me was soft, like a bed. The air was warm. I could hear the faint sound of wind outside the room, the gentle crackle of fire from somewhere behind the walls. Dreams didn’t feel like this.

I swallowed hard. My throat burned. My limbs refused to respond. My eyes wanted to close again. I tried to push myself to move, to speak, to reach her... but my body was too weak.

The princess stopped in front of me. Her eyes, sharp and icy as she stared directly into mine. There was no warmth there, no softness, no kindness.

She lifted my hand and held it firmly. Her grip was strong, yet not cruel. Precise and controlled. I could even feel the chill of her touch.

“I will avenge you, my dear sister, Queen Luna,” she whispered, but... Her voice, it was too dark.

However, words struck me harder than anything.

Avenge? Sister? Queen Luna? What was she saying?

I wanted to speak, to ask her... to demand an explanation. But no words came.

My body was too weak... my eyelids were even heavier. My mind screamed with questions I couldn’t voice... Darkness was embracing me.

I  closed my eyes again, letting the darkness completely take over.
