The next day Kadeem sits at his office in his home. He shakes his head back and forth trying to make his thoughts of Ardal disappear so he can focus on work. Being hypnotized by Matteo is working. His memory is coming back. Jumping in water with Ardal is also working. Kadeem thinks back to the refreshing feeling of being in the water. His body is weightless. The waves in the water move him around. As the waves wash over his body, waves of memories enter his mind.

Kadeem lays his head down on his desk, and he lets his mind drift to thoughts of Ardal in her sexy swimming suit. Kadeem goes down to the pool. Susan sits on a lounge chair wearing a black string bikini and big straw sun hat. She winks at Kadeem as he walks by. Kadeem rolls his eyes.

Kadeem looks at the babies.

“Come play with us,” Lottie screams.

Kadeem wades into the shallow end of the pool to be near the babies. They play catch and Kadeem picks each one up and sets them down gently in the water. Reese steps out of the pool to get his towel, because his eyes are wet. Susan rises from her chair. She follows Reese to a table where his towel is.

“Hello Reesy-poo,” Susan coos. “Do you remember me?”

Reese glares at her and moves to rejoin his brothers and sister. As Reese walks by Susan, she sticks out her leg to trip him. Reese falls forwards and plummets into the deep end.

“Get him!” Ezra shrieks. “He can’t swim!”

Kadeem rushes out of the pool, sprints to the deep end, and dives in to save Reese.

Kadeem grabs Reese as he sinks to the bottom of the pool. He holds him and brings him up on the side of the pool where the babies have gathered. Reese is safe. Kadeem is about to pull himself up when his leg cramps up. He can’t kick his leg and struggles to stay afloat.

Kadeem had injured himself in his fight with Bob. His leg is sore, and Kadeem was walking with a slight limp.

As Kadeem struggles to stay afloat, he slowly sinks to the bottom. The babies scream. Susan smiles.

Kadeem hears the rushing water in his ears s he sinks to the bottom. His body is dead weight, and he is no longer able to fight against the water. Visions of his former life come back to him.

He sees Ardal in a white wedding dress. He sees her dying. He sees her with babies. He sees himself holding and kissing her passionately. The water moves all around him. With every motion, a new memory returns. But now, he must find a way to be released from the water and confront his memories.
